I have been taking 30g of Glutamin to heal my leaky gut and what happened was that my sugar cravings topped and my belly got thinger and more defined. Initially I wanted to take it for 10 days, now I consider taking it long term. Is there any harm in thaking it for a long time with no stop? Maybe like 10g a day, doesnt need to be 30g anymore.
Did it help you with leaky gut? I ordered l glutamine online but it's mix with bcaa!! Do you think it will help more or doesn't make sense? Thanks a lot🙏
Great video! Question for you, Dr. I’ve been dealing with fairly bad anxiety and been taking an SSRI for the last 6 years and I’ve spoken with a lot of ND’s and most of them told me to avoid glutamine because of the fact that it can raise glutamate in your brain which will make your anxiety worse. However, I’ve done research and you also mentioned that it also is the precursor to GABA so it sounds like you need it in order to create that “balance” in your brain. With your experience, will taking glutamine help decrease my anxiety by not only creating that balance between glutamate and gaba but also heal my gut as well? Thanks and God bless 🙏🏽
Taking Glutamine, any more than 5 grams for tissue rebuilding, is not recommended due to the fact it can raise glutamate in your system. I recommend, L-Theanine instead to help reduce the anxiety. Which, it turn, will help heal the gut.
Yes, it’ll heal your gut health so your body can readily absorb vitamins and nutrients better‼️ Ppl who suffer from mental health issues tend to have a “leaky gut.”
So Glutamin can be also important for vegans who dont get like the best of food? I am a student and as a vegan I dont get enough food always, for a long time - like the first 2 years of university- I almost only eat beans from tins. When I started adding Glutamin, my body shape changed to being more ripped.
Individuals with anxiety disorders had increased glutamine concentrations. While glutamine was related to depressive and anxious personality traits and anxiety disorders, it was not associated with state anxiety or acute depressive symptoms. Individuals with anxiety disorders had increased prefrontal GABA
Dear Doctor Jawad, can Glutamine increase uric acid levels? I need it desperately for my leaky gut but wary because of my uric acid concern. Kindly advice.
I just watched the video again and had a few questions. 2 months ago I messaged you about taking glutamine because I deal with anxiety and you recommended that I take l-theanine. After watching it again you mentioned the importance of taking glutamine to balance the glutamine/gaba ratio in the brain. Also, you mentioned that stress lowers glutamine in the body and with anxiety I’m obviously VERY stressed daily so it seems like taking glutamine might be beneficial for me to take? Thoughts?
I have Crohn's disease ....will L-Glutamine reduce the inflammation in my colon...and which brand and how much should I take and will there be a buildup in my system.....I also take klonopin and will it interact with that?
I have Crohns disease and my doctor said to take Solgar product.....? also I have anxiety and depression ....my mother died and now I have to take klonopin for sleep.....want off of that......but the anxiety has made me afraid to get out and drive to stores.....I do not want to take SSRI.....the doctor thinks that I got Crohns because of the stress of losing my mother but if I get off the klonopin for sleep and anxiety what can I take for sleep.......will the L-glutamine let me sleep by lowering anxiety and lower cortisol.....HELP!!! my life is being destroyed by this anxiety and depression
hey Doc, im a sickle cell patient with a hybrid form of thalassemia. i take 700mg of L-glutamine a day to compliment the hydroxyurea i take for my disease. i do boxing training and want to be safe. will glutamine help me with the tough anaerobic activity?
Doc, since last 6 months , I have been suffering from withdrawal symptoms from psychiatric medications , like severe and extreme tightness in my head as if my head is very very tightly wrapped around with rope, very tightness in my body muscles mainly In neck and back muscles, very high insomnia, extreme fatigue throughout my body, and constipation.I am also feeling as if my body is disoriented and out of balance, dizziness. Could you please suggest me some most effective and safest medicine to totally cure my problem .
My suggestion is to be patient. Do research on your diet and what foods you must eat to heal yourself. This takes time. Include exercises as well. My suggestion is to do your own research.
Hi doc I have another question, instead of consuming bone broth for getting more collagen, could I take a multi collagen protein as long as it's a good quality source?
That is good. All depends on how your body reacts to it. It 'may cause some pain' ---that is because your gut was THAT damaged. Give it time and it will be better.
I had a urine test from physicians lab.It showed my GABA is above the detection limit and my glutamine is low like an 8 where normal starts at 17.They are recommending me to take a glutamine supplement.Do you think that will balance me back out? Thanks
The balancing supplements for glutamate and GABA include the amino acids taurine, GABA, and l-theanine; the anti-oxidants NAC and green tea; vitamins B6 and D; the minerals magnesium and zinc; omega-3 fatty acids; and several herbal therapies. Presynaptically, acting at a group III metabotropic receptor, glutamate can reduce GABA release. Blocking the group III receptor leads to an increase in GABA activity, suggesting an ongoing inhibition of GABA activity by this glutamate receptor
checked the brand you recommended. what are l-leucine+l-isoleucine+l-valine??do they help digestion??what other supplements u recommend for gastritis?digestive issues?
In ketosis, less glutamate is metabolized and more becomes available to the glutamate decarboxylase reaction for the purpose of GABA synthesis. In addition, the ketogenic diet appears to favor the synthesis of glutamine, an essential precursor to GABA. This occurs both because ketone body carbon is metabolized to glutamine and because in ketosis there is increased consumption of acetate, which astrocytes in the brain quickly convert to glutamine
Doc, would you please suggest me with the most effective and safest medicine to maintain the proper balance of neurotransmitters in my brain due to the withdrawal from using the psychiatric medications.
Hi Doc! I have severely high blood pressure. Right now it’s uncontrolled. Is L-Glutamine safe for me to take? I have hashimotos, I’m post menopausal with zero estrogen and zero testosterone. So, I just ordered a bottle but I’m nervous about taking it.
Glutamate is essential for "long-term potentiation," a process by which new information or skills are retained for later use. The multiple areas of the brain involved in schizophrenia are connected by a circuit of brain cells that rely on glutamate to communicate
amazing vid;thanks for great explanation.been taking 5g now i am gono increase to 2/day.I am taking powder with 5000 mg c+mastic gum+zinc carnosine (helping with gastritis). does it matter when to take it?one vid said take 0.5 per kilogram of weight. meaning up to 25 grams for me.is that too much?

I m an IBS patient. Lost 20 kgs in 9 months. Still not recovered. Can I take L-GLUTAMINE supplement? Is it safe to heal my intestinal and gut lining? Does it increases risk of cancer? I have very poor guy health
L-glutamine may help with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Tissues in the intestine use this amino acid as a fuel source to function well. L-glutamine also appears to have a role in maintaining proper barriers within the intestine. The most common IBDs-autoimmune diseases that inflame the gastrointestinal tract-are ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. IBS does not increase the risk of cancer, but the inflammation that comes with IBD may put individuals at greater risk of colon cancer.
@@thejdocrealminute4648 Does taking L-Glutamine increases risk of cancer? As many online resources say that L-Glutamine acts as the feed for cancer causing cells
@@irfanrahman6165 Cells are dependent on glutamine in so many ways. Mutations in the genes IDH1 and IDH2, which also change how glutamine products are used in a cell, are common in certain types of brain cancer and leukemia. This high demand for glutamine means that supplies of it inside of a tumor are often quite low. Glutamine is a major dietary amino acid that is both a fuel and nitrogen donor for healing tissues damaged by chemotherapy and radiation. Evidence supports the benefit of oral (enteral) glutamine to reduce symptoms and improve and/or maintain quality of life of cancer patients.
