I think the A1 by MaJohn with the roll stop is the best retractable pen at the moment. The price point for this pen is good but for slightly less I think the A1 is a better choice.
I would rather say the A2, it is roughly the same price with an improved close flap, which makes the nib a lot less prone of drying out if unused for a few days.
Mate, appreciate your great review sir. The pen looks, how shall I say it? Cheap? However, I do respect this company making their own version of a capless pen.
It looks like it could use a little more refinement and polish, but it looks like it writes nicely. Not too bad for a first pen model for a company that’s never made one before. I LOVE the Regalia paper btw.
Great video and was not expecting the case. 👏 Think I liked the case better than the pen🤐. Needs a bit more finishing touches. Mine came with a bit of plastic burs in some areas, but very easily removed. Great price overall. The thing that I noticed on mine was when reassembling together, it is easily possible to overtighten and miss align the hexagonal portions of the body.🙄 It can be made to line up but very easy to overtighten. The plastic does not feel dense. Again for the price, its a good pen and very light. My capless pen of choice is the Pilot Fermo in silver. Wish they made it in white.
@@chrisblanc663 I did. I don’t love it. It feels cheap. The barrel is girthy and 5-sided which makes gripping uncomfortable. It changes my handwriting. On a positive note, the nib is great. Very smooth and consistent.
My immediate reaction on seeing this pen in the video was that the step between nib section and barrel would be a problem for me when writing with it. At that stage I hadn't even taken on board that the barrel is hexagonal, which I think may be an added problem, especially with a clip in the way. Not for me, sadly.
The design strikes me as really odd. I can just see that this pen would be uncomfortable for me to hold. I have a VP and, like you, can never get around it. It just never feels comfortable in the hand. But this pen seems even less ergonomic.
Oh my... Someone must have been asleep at the wheel because that pen looks like a total disaster. There's much better and some cheaper options, such as the Majohn A1 and A2. Nice review though and thanks for sharing.

@@bendarel I stand corrected

Great video, and very helpful review. Agreed that this is a great step forward for a brand that is new to making pens.

I'm still waiting for mine. Should be here Monday. Glad to your your review. Thank you
You get your pen yet? Do you like it?

That's a funky looking pen! I can respect that, and I do love the Parker 51 style Chinese nibs, which is what I assume this is.
Could you make a brief list of the retractable pens you have? Thanks
Pilot Capless, Lamy Dialog 3, Lamy Dialog CC, Endless Creator, Lanbitou 3092, Ensso Bolt, Majohn A2.
The fold-out says "Your next creation is just a click away"...but the pen doesn't click! lol
That’s funny. That actually never clicked for me! 😜
The feed line didn't look perfectly aligned, (that's on the close up where we can see the engraved sword.)
You’re right, it isnt. It doesn’t seem to affect the writing experience, but the nib is in a fixed position on the feed.
I think I'll take a moon man A1 any day of the week

Looks like something from Star Trek TOS

Think I’ll pass on this one, the build quality isn’t looking great!
