Zeo is one of the few teams to be completed in both the Lightning Collection and the Legacy Collection. The others being MMPR and Dino Thunder. In Space was close in the Legacy Line but it didn't have the Silver Ranger.
I think zeo is what took my PR love from obsession to maximum obsession back in the day - i fondly remember the hype train leading up to that debut episode. The team all togther like that really does help mask how much they dropped the ball on rockys civillian head. Cracking video once again good sir
Same, I remember it was an “Event” here in the states w/ the promo of “it’s coming! A New vision of Pooooooooooowerrrr” as A laser cut out the symbols of the Zeo crystal’s. This series and fox really went out of their way to hook you as a kid an get excited for “The Next thing” the song was already-Sort of playing in the promos but not fully & no lyrics.
@@Ordinaryguy82 yes! i want to say we got those in the UK as well, at least the symbol ones - really felt like PR was moving into serious mode, and it did in some ways.
Another fantastic review!!! I still have hopes Hasbro release a command center for Zeo Season. Not only you could fit the Zord we already have, but having the slots to place the MMPR figures and their weapons in the center. Maybe a slot to place the Zeo Crystals (individuals or the combined cristal) and obviously the Zeo rangers themselves. Sure I set like this wouldn't be cheaper, but I'm it would sell a lot. They are taking a much bigger risk releasing the MMPR weapons like props (which I'm loving, lol), which are very expensive and I'm not sure how many people can afford them all. Well, I don't know if you guys agree with me, but my perception is a lot of fans would love to have a chance to have a command center similar to what I described, and would sell much more than the big weapons.
Mmpr, Zeo and In space were the height of my PR love. I just finished up my Inspace set w/ finally getting The silver ranger and ecliptor & Astronema 2 pack. I just found the Tyrannosaurus-Sentry at the local target, it has the best red ranger helmet of any of the MMPR red ranger helmets, unfortunately it has no-mouth plate on the helmet. I’m waiting for the gender-swapped red & yellow mmpr from the comics to arrive, That looks to be the best screen accurate Red-ranger helmet. Loved the review and am looking forward to In space!
These team reviews/analysis I think really do more then looking at most of the rangers individually. Sum of its parts type of thing. I wasn't exactly thrilled to collect the whole Zeo Team again. Nor make Tonfa's......again. Still generally this Team has worked. I think we still need proper villains from this season besides the Cogs. We even have a megazord even if it's one whole figure. There is definitely a management issue going on over at Hasbro where they can't be consistent with this line. I think there is a battle between accuracy and originality. Actor likeness has to be a topic beyond just likeness rights. If they adapt a comic book face, they never have to worry about how it looks when actor gets into legal trouble or dies. Ninjastorm Red, Wildforce Red.....gonna be interesting.
I recall that the Lightning Collection's conception gave a placebo effect to Transformers at that time (like how the War for Cybertron Trilogy figures felt cheap in comparison to the awesome figures in the line), and karma reproached to deal damage to this line at present with slightly improved Transformers but cheapened-out LC figures as of late. Besides the point, Zeo is undoubtedly my favorite series of suits that is perfect for stop motions. I could imagine recreations of scenes from the original Japanese source material, Ohranger, with these figures more than with Zeo. Even if stop motion is not your forte, you do share my sentiments, right?
I recently finished MMPR, I have In Space (apart from Silver) and my Zeo Team will be complete when my Yellow Ranger arrives in a few days! The inconsistencies with belt weapons led me to painting them to be identical and so the paint wouldn’t chip off - you can imagine how careful I was with my Red Ranger’s Power Sword and I immediately put a varnish coating on the black handle. I painted the visor trims of my Pink, Green and Blue figures in white too and I gave them all painted boots. Rocky’s head looks really bad, Kat’s is okay and Tommy’s is average - I plan to get the metallic red and pink to use their heads for the Zeo figures. Trey looks good, Jason looks really good, Adam and Tanya’s both look fantastic. Overall I think that the Lightning Collection Zeo figures are an improvement from Legacy. Although there are still yays and nays that make Legacy and Lightning better and worse in some areas. I never collected Legacy back in the day but they win for consistency. Lightning wins for having the alternate heads and the key weapons. Not having their own weapons made the Legacy ones feel empty and like they were missing something. I think if you compare both of your videos together you can get a great insider look into them or use them as a “before you buy guide”. The video you did on Wave 1 actually helped kickstart my collection of 40+ and was really helpful!
I agree. I always love the figures and the consistency of the Bandai line, especially the original (old) ones. But then, I never bought the figures from the legacy line because of the missing weapons. That annoyed me to death. The exception was the MMPR movie figures and Ivan Ooze, they were fantastic and accurate to the original movie, I happily got them all. Hasbro is doing a great job overall, besides the almost unethical practice of forcing us to rebuy figures. I guess what drives most of our complaints, about the inconsistency and other picky things about the whole line, comes from the fact that at least 90% of it could be avoided by elementary practices and the real potential we know this line has.
Here is something I only found out today Flame Toys Go Kara Kuri Combine Dino Megazord looks absolutely mental. It's a reiteration on the Mmpr megazord just mental.
What's the average cost of a single lightning collection figure. At Wal-Mart in Tennessee was$35 that's too for a piece of plastic. I worked in a injection molding factory it doesn't cost much to make it I assure you
That rocky head sculp is awful. The Jason smiling head sculp… nope. I like the Trey head sculp. Tanya… the neck looks a bit too long… face sculp…. So so. It’s what put me off the figures, was the human head sculpts. It’s good seeing the entire squad all together. Nicely presented in various poses. Good review, love the history reveal.
I'll admit I am disappointed Rocky's tonfa came with a mook. I only personally collect ranger figures myself, so I would have personally preferred it if they came with Rocky's Metallic Red or Ninjetti figures as they're more ones I was inclined to buy. Alternatively, as a fan of Masters of the Universe, I'd like to see them go the "Weapon Pack" route and include them in that with maybe some other bonus weapons for different teams. As a fan of what if concepts, I'd love to see Saba, the Power Sword and Power Axe re-coloured in Zeo Red, Zeo Blue and Zeo Green's colour palettes, kind of like how MOTU Classics re-coloured He-Mans axe and shield in Faker's colours so he had more than just the orange sword.
With Triple Jump being jerks with how they assess the “worst” games of the 90s (they may be on the 80s now), would you consider doing your own Every Power Rangers Game Ranked From Worst To Best video? (Also featuring the VR Troopers game as a Wildcard Entry)
@@powerrangertube yeah it sucks they may not get released but if hasbro are willing to release countless versons of mmpr and characters who hardly got screen time i think they could make a 4 pack so they could release the other rangers weapons
@@powerrangertube I agree, but I think they also considered the fact that he was on in the in Space season, and they didn't want to compromise themselves to release the Turbo team. Turbo was not my favorite.. but I do love Divatox lol.
Just unboxed the zap megazord really disappointing for the price the 2020 version does the job of a megazord on the shelf for a 3rd of the price. Put the money away and save for the flame toys version that megazord looks insane.

dude you made a good point. I never thought about the fact they had 3 red rangers.
Gold Ranger was the first figure I bought of this line. Loved Zeo. So glad that we have the whole set and yes, some inconsistences aside I love it.
The gold ranger was my very first lightning collection figure ever
Hoping we get Turbo next. I love the suits of Turbo.
I love your knowledge, enthusiasm and the way you breakdown the whole team at once. Thanks for doing what you do!
Thanks for saying so!
Ah that shot at the beginning bring alot of memories, the Zeo Beginnings
since bandai doesn't release the Ohranger in SHF format, i'll go with the hasbro one
