Wrapped in the yellow earth What should I fear? Sour hate and shallow mirth Never come near Shape me no epitaph Sugar no rhyme I had the heart to laugh, once on a time Golden my summertime Green was my spring Fell for the oldest line Country and king Died in a foreign field Far from my kin All of my fine ideals, cast to the wind Wild kiss and heavy love Lose every hold Oh, sunlight, sunlight How dark the cold Carve me no statue Keep me no shrine I had a memory, once on a time We are they, who went to die Believing in the same old lie Anzacs sent to hell The ancient shores of the Dardanelles
He should be Javert or at least some part in the new film. Colm Wilkinson is playing the Bishop, but Philip should be there too. much better voice than RC and equally good to look at.
Gosh, only just found out he is australian! Go aussies!! His voice is amazing. Doesn't he look a bit like, a cross between Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson? Hope Josh Groban can grow to be like this man... I love them both! Handsome and highly talented.
I know it's only been two months since my last comment, but what the hey :lol! Again, this is SO SO SO SO amazing!!! I keep forgetting how much I love PQ :)
Gracias, asi he conocido mas a una de mejores voces que he escuchado. Quizas nunca pueda verlo en vivo, solo tengo youtube, muchas gracias. Saludos de Chile
I could see the resemblance to Crowe who I always thought looks like Richard Burton. Look up pics of Burton and Crowe and line them up with Quast. Burton could have been Quast's father with Crowe as another family member. Quast's voice is amazing.
Is it possible that you can upload the "Once In a Blue Moon" song with Philip Quast in there....I remember listening to the sample and he did a great job with some other 3 singers...
Wow. This was just...amazing. His diction is flawless, his tone raw, yet smooth and sonorous, and he ACTS the part. Just...I am it total shock. Amazing. The score is also just sweeping. I can't quit gushing.
Ooooo my gosh - I looooove you! Thank you so much for putting this up! I've never even heard of this song before but it's soooo gorgeous! Okay, I'm stopping with my PQ fangirl moment XD Thanks again!
Every one has a role that's clicks with them, for Johnny Depp it was Jack Sparrow, for Angela Lansbury it was Mrs. Potts. For Philip Quast, it's Javert; I do love this song though, great job Philip Quast!!!!
Could you just appreciate him for his amazing voice and acting abilities?!? Yes, he is amazingly good looking, but so much more than that.
the lyrics, his voice, his expressions... beautiful, just beautiful.
Once again, amazing the way he emotes when he sings. And so effortless.
Beautiful and haunting. Quast gave such an emotional performance here!
I can't stop listening to this song. Philip's voice is mesmerizing, and the song is so powerful!
Aww, baby Philip Quast
all the love in the universe combined cannot even remotely rival my love and admiration for Philip Quast
It’s always a pleasure to hear his voice
I have to admit, it feels so weird not to see Javert's muttonchops on Quast.
I love this man I just love himmm
I love Philip Quast he is one of my favorite Broadway Stars.
In this video he reminds of Michael Ball. Because he kinda looks like him in here, lol.
LoveThatPhantom I was just thinking that😂
Me think it’s the ton of curly hair!!!
Wrapped in the yellow earth
What should I fear?
Sour hate and shallow mirth
Never come near
Shape me no epitaph
Sugar no rhyme
I had the heart to laugh, once on a time
Golden my summertime
Green was my spring
Fell for the oldest line
Country and king
Died in a foreign field
Far from my kin
All of my fine ideals, cast to the wind
Wild kiss and heavy love
Lose every hold
Oh, sunlight, sunlight
How dark the cold
Carve me no statue
Keep me no shrine
I had a memory, once on a time
We are they, who went to die
Believing in the same old lie
Anzacs sent to hell
The ancient shores of the Dardanelles

So true!!!
the voice of God!
Gosh, only just found out he is australian! Go aussies!! His voice is amazing. Doesn't he look a bit like, a cross between Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson? Hope Josh Groban can grow to be like this man... I love them both! Handsome and highly talented.
What a voice, wow. There's not a false note in there.
i didn't know he was so handsome.... like a young Russel Crowe
I never noticed it before, but if Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson had a baby it would look just like Philip Quast.
I know it's only been two months since my last comment, but what the hey :lol!
Again, this is SO SO SO SO amazing!!! I keep forgetting how much I love PQ :)
Yup. Incidentally, Russel is playing Javert in Les Mis the movie come December. Let's see how he does his Philip Quast impression. :)
This is awsome, he has the most amazing voice.
Where did you get it,? I have been trying all afternoon to get it, but no luck.!!! boo hoo
This could really fit Javert, actually.
But never mind... Quast, never stop singing or acting
Gracias, asi he conocido mas a una de mejores voces que he escuchado. Quizas nunca pueda verlo en vivo, solo tengo youtube, muchas gracias. Saludos de Chile
Con la boca abierta... aunque el niño sobra. in love with Phillip's voice
Chido

Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks he looks a bit like Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson. I figure I was just weird.
This may sound stupid, but I just need clarification-Quast is Australian right?
Sounds a bit like My Funny Valentine. :-)
Philip Quast is a treasure!
i think it was the same with John Cudia. funny how these men with amazing voices started later in life! :)
Soon...soon his mutton chops will grow in....
Then he will make history...as the ultimate soldier!
I NO
He is Australian :)
A little bit better, really. :)
Does anyone else think he sort of looks like Earl Carpenter?
Someone who hated the kid's voice, I presume ;-)
Did they just go and find the creepiest looking kid they could?
This man is one of the best people to ever come out of Australia. He deserves much more recognition for what he has done for this country
Quast is the handsome, SINGING version...
Wow. This was just...amazing. His diction is flawless, his tone raw, yet smooth and sonorous, and he ACTS the part. Just...I am it total shock. Amazing. The score is also just sweeping. I can't quit gushing.
It's Javeeeeeeeeert!
The Best JAVERT ever!
Ooooo my gosh - I looooove you! Thank you so much for putting this up!
I've never even heard of this song before but it's soooo gorgeous!
Okay, I'm stopping with my PQ fangirl moment XD
Thanks again!
Didn't Philip Quast once present Playschool in Australia?
Yeah, on and off from 81 to 96
Ryan Gillis
Javert looks more like Marius,
Now whenever Philip Quast sings, I can only hear Javert.
oh my god how did I find you on something you commented on 3 years ago?? This is wrong.
Amazing!! One of the best renditions I've ever heard/seen!!
Every one has a role that's clicks with them, for Johnny Depp it was Jack Sparrow, for Angela Lansbury it was Mrs. Potts. For Philip Quast, it's Javert; I do love this song though, great job Philip Quast!!!!
Vilken varm Baryton, hittade detta ikväll..måste följa upp

That's a huge compliment to Russel Crowe ;-)
