Chain won't brake, it will pop off and lock back wheel from moving causing a skid and probably flip seeing backend is very light. Wheel stud's will tear u up like a cheese shredder. But anyway's the 200x look's kinda cool and run's nice like a Honda. Jack shaft robbing speed my guess, as stock 1986-87 honda 200x they did 57-59 mph-ish with the extra wheel
I would probably keep it as a special part of your collection that you do have an awesome collection of bikes and wheelers absolutely love your channel please keep it up man you kick ass..
First of all it’s cool as hell. It’s running rich. Lean it up a little. Drop the needle one clip and maybe size smaller pilot jet. To me at first on the asphalt it sounded like the clutch was slipping but on grass it would brake the tire loose is is it or is it not??? The chain looks like it should work fine. Keep it greased and it should be good. I love it though. Good job man.
Wouldn't it make more sense to fit longer front shocks than to lower the rear like everyone else is saying to??? Would make for a much taller, cooler looking bike....
HEY! Just a idea.. if you vertically slotted the holes the chain roller bolts into you could adjust the chain tension by sliding the roller wheel up or down. Move it down to make it tighter. Really cool bike conversion
That jackshaft rear chain drive system needs to be redone with sealed ball bearings and a way to adjust the short chain, either by adjustable roller or moving the bearing support blocks back/forth. Cool rig, front rake is almost nonexistent, wouldn't be hauling too much a$$ with that setup! Thanks for the cool videos!😎
Think those sprockets need replacing as they are starting to shark tooth ,another TH-camr converted a 90cc Honda 3wheeler into a 2 and repainted it ,it really looks mint ,I recon a full strip down and repaint on this as they are rare and plz don’t sell it because you will regret it ,great work once again 👍👍
That would be strange to ride, the cockpit of a three wheeler but only one back tire, how are you suppose to run over your leg when you put your foot down lol. Pretty sweet find!
I let a buddy of mine ride my 86 250r when I just got it completely restored and he put his leg down to turn and the power band kicked in and it ate his calf up and broke my rear fenders😂
@@loganknott7537 Ouch on both, his pain and your $. I've got 2 350x, an 86 all original and an 85 all black, both real nice. I let a few people ride the 85 but not the 86, the 86 costs to much to fix lol.
that runs nice. but I still think you should look for a swingarm and extended axle to put on it. you would love it for wheelies as a trike. I had 2 of them growing up one had the 86 motor with 6 gears the other was 85 like yours. not posative but on ivideo it sounds like either the exhaust is letting it rev higher or it may have mild cam in it. great find by the way..
You adjust the front chain at the jackshaft where the 2 chains meet. Then you adjust the back chain that goes too the tire at the tire just like a dirt bike.
Ever since the Fat Cat came out and Yamaha had the BW I have always wanted one of these !! I an so glad to see someone do a conversion like this ! I would definitely re engineer the jackshaft set up and maybe add some side panels to complete the look.
My dad had a 1989 Yamaha Big Wheel 350 dirt bike that looked just like that when I was a kid. He had fishing rod holders and a gun rack on it. It was so weird to ride cause it would always be riding halfway in the ruts, lol.
Keep that beautiful creation as it is, throw some new tires and brakes on and maybe refurbish the jackshaft. I like 3 wheelers but this thing melds the ease of a dirtbike with the grunt and utility of the 3 wheeler perfectly
I had a 85 Honda 200X like that. I bought it brand new. Boy I wish I would have known back then that you could convert it to 2 wheeler! Looks like a blast to ride. Do something about that chain setup and you've got a keeper!
Maybe attempt to replace that jacked shafty thing lol but otherwise my friend, you did a great job...as always. Fav channel here! Above all others regardless of type. Thanks for everything and please keep 'em coming.
The chain got tighter because even though you compressed the front suspension you also compressed the rear suspension. The centerline of the rear axle without any suspension loading is way below the centerline of the transmission and jackhammer which means as you compressed the rear suspension and bring all three centerline into a single plane it will get tighter. This is why chain tension should be checked with a riders weight on the seat.
@@sendit1158 No, I didn't. I had visions of a ballistic missile with "Honda 250r" written on the side of it. Made me laugh. Pretty cool video. Those ice studs almost brought you down! So with a few improvements like a chain tensioner and a Teflon pad on top of the swing arm for the chain to run on and some new tires, she ought to be a good little machine to get around on. Great job matching the paint on the tank. I like it 👌. Could turn a nice profit on your investment. Thanks again for your time and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I've got a whole rear swingarm and axle that needs to be taken apart and lubed up. For an 86-87 200x. Maybe you can bring this thing back to 3 wheel glory
Growing up my buddy had the Yamaha big wheel dirt bike. Honda also made the fatcat. I was never a fan. Just a big goofy slow dirt bike. Why people ruin bikes is beyond me. Should have been left as a trike. Same with ur quadzilla banshee. Took a perfectly fine banshee and jacked it up. I guess people just get bored and decide to do these things. Anyway not to beat ya up or anything. Love your channel and your compassion for riding and fixing bikes. Im just sharing my opinion on these conversions
Blue line graphics for the sticker kit they're super good quality. If your curious about tires I just bought some 6 ply SunF A035 tires for my 250R and they are really good quality for cheap. Might want to keep a round profile so it will still turn corners.
Pretty neat!!!! I love the 86-87 200x 3 wheelers, excellent machines. I could never convert a honda 3 wheeler into a 2 wheeler as I prefer the OEM configuration (trike). Also they are not making these anymore and they are fewer and farther between so I really hope the trend of converting these stops, 3 wheelers are already hard enough to find and are worth a lot more as a trike. This is cool and all but Im more impressed by the pitster pro 190 Fat Tire and you can buy them new right now and ride. At least in your case the conversion was done by someone else so you can enjoy it for what it is and possibly convert back into a 3 wheeler. The weight is perfect and much better handling then a 350x for sure, my 86 350x feels like it weighs as much as two 200x's lol. I love them all though and each has their own pros and cons, i think 2vintage did pretty good on this purchase. If he could locate the 3 wheeler rear end parts cheap enough he could make a good buck off of that bike.
Maybe take that jack shaft out and file lines around the diameter of it in 8-10 places. Chamfer all those edges off and it’ll probably give u a lot better use outta ur grease. It’ll have journals to keep it in better. Also, maybe some makeshift seals for the ends of the shaft to keep grease inside 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

ATC, Fat Cat conversion. Company sold the whole rear swing arm kit to convert your ATC into a Fat Cat essentially.
Mad jealous that bike looks incredible and a lot of fun
Add a second roller tensioner on the top that will fix the chain slap on the swingarm and tighten the chain better as well.
The engines torque would destroy a roller if used on top. That's why they are only on the bottom.
I think it needs more rake. Lowering the back will probably help a little.
Set of bar risers would help with the ergos as well.

Is that an actual Missile kit they built for the 250r? Or did someone build it?
Wat do you do with all the bikes after you fix them?
You should put a shorter shock on the back it would make it way more rideable.. you would just have to take a couple links out of the chain
I wanna ride one of those looks awesome
They rear end of the bike is higher because of the longer swingarm or the way the shock mounted from the kit.
