    Hey guys, I know this one is a bit late but had some internet issues. Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend.
    Oh and yeah, I stole this video from the second channel as a lot of you guys wanted to see a video on this specific watch. Thanks and have a good one.

    Orient is the new Seiko. There... I said it. Its good value and solid, reliable pieces with good QC. I loooooooove that dial! It would have been so nice withouth the day date.

      That makes a LOT of sense. I've been searching for a second teal dial 36mm Tri-star with faceted crystal for 3 years. The best I could figure was that the watch was exclusively sold in South America but I always thought that was weird as one ended up in my hands here in the US. I found the original watch on ebay, it somehow is my 2nd favorite watch over my Tudor blackbay even. I have always wanted to find a second one in case something happens to this one but three years of searching I still can't find another one. They are SO rare.

    Nice to see a Tristar being covered, you don't see many videos with these IMO, and personally I don't see that many available as well sadly. I always assumed these were like Orient's answer to Seiko 5, and here you confirmed it. I'm usually not a fan of green dials, but this one looked really nice. It would probably look good in blue with similar sunburst too. Great video as usual.

    My Orient tri-star is the one watch that REALLY took me by surprise. The one I have is a 36mm teal dial with a faceted crystal. I cannot get over how much I like this watch. Its cheap, but it looks amazing and there is just something about it that I can't get enough of. In fact I like my tri-star over my Tudor Blackbay if that says anything. I've spent 3 years trying to find another one but it was very rare and I think a South American LE. Still I have looked every week for 3 years and still do.

    Very nice watches, I got a 37mm sky sunburst blue with gold hands and indices, older model with 50m water resistance, actually a Japanese Domestic Market model that was sold by a dealer here in Istanbul. At the size it looked a bit small on my 8" wrist, but my wife wears it regularly. Excellent review!!

    Hi, just got the dark blue dial version (RA-AB0F09L19B) today. Immediately put it on a 20mm quick-release steel mesh strap. Looks fabulous. This is probably the first Tristar that I like how it looks IRL, that's why it's the first and for now the only Tristar in my collection. Also started the accuracy measurement, initially it's only +5 seconds off the reference time. Because I guess that, despite non-hackability, this F4902 is going to undergo the same regulation process as I did on the F6922 in the Kamasu: wait until the (relative) deviation per day stabilizes, then account for the software timegrapher difference, then regulate accordingly and restart the measurement. It all is going to be even more interesting as the movement is cheaper and constructionally simpler. But it still is a post-2014, Epson-made Orient, so I believe I can do this. Not sure if it has the same positional stability as the F6 platform, but if it does and my hypothesis is true (and F4902 is just an F6922 with some parts stripped off) then it's going to be even cooler.

    • @amoledzeppelin
      @amoledzeppelin 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok, so now I can write an update. Definitely couldn't regulate it correctly with my usual method from the first and even third try, but the fourth try worked. Now it doesn't seem to deviate beyond ±1 second per day in the 24/7 wearing mode. And yes, I can confirm that F4902 is just a stripped-down version of F6922. And non-hackability doesn't seem to be a problem for one reason: if the second hand is lagging behind, you can "push" it to the correct position by shaking the watch left-right in the vertical plane (with the dial facing you) with a frequency close to the oscillating frequency of the watch (i.e. 3 full shakes per second). It's up to you to determine how many shakes you need to move the second hand a certain amount of seconds forward. Of course I wouldn't recommend doing this for more expensive and fragile non-hacking movements but this works just fine with F4902 and this particular Tristar as well. The only thing I'm missing here is the lume from Kamasu and probably a titanium case, but we'd talk a whole different lot of money here if the case were titanium, so that's OK too.

  • @c4my819
    @c4my819 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The movement being noisy is probably my favorite feature of the tristars
