You taught me a lot, and I really thank you for that. Now I can actually get to know my limits and what I enjoy the most instead of practice for 8 hours straight (2-4 min maps on double speed with 15 minute breaks.) and then trying a map that has been terrorizing me from day 1.
Just picked up Osu! yesterday. I’m stuck around 2.5-3 star maps. I only have 4 hours played but I can tell that it’s going to be a long time before I stop playing!
@Rfc the best thing I can suggest is to stop playing whatever star level maps your playing and find 1-2 star higher maps and just keep practicing the harder ones instead of staying at that comfy level of completing the maps you have.
for most peole, 4-5 star is their max. the reason is that higher stars either surpass their reaction speed, or surpass their ability to fastly move their mouse for long distance and aim for a small target. or mostly, the map surpass their brain's ability to process multiple infomation at once. meaning to get better, train your brain to be able to move your mouse faster while having accuracy, train to become star platium. and to increase your brain's processing ability, as for multi tasking and instantly solving simple math

this is some great advice on how to improve at osu my only problem with this video is the music being louder than your voice so you might wanna turn it down a little other than that great video 👍
Hey! So like, around half a year or so ago, I quit playing osu! because I feel like I hit a hugeeee wall. I was only 500k at the time, and I could barely FC low four stars, which I had to spend hours to do. I used to play everyday for hoursss long (sometimes even the entire day), and when I wasn’t progressing/improving at around high 4 to low 5 stars (for months of playing everyday), I was demotivated very very hard (also since at the time, I only played osu! and nothing else…) But after seeing this video, I want to challenge myself to start playing again… Thanks man, I’ll see how it goes this time I guess… wish me luck!
play for fun. honestly. I know it's simple and should be common sense but if you pay attention to rank TOO much, then all it becomes is a competition and it's no fun anymore. Just play maps you love, whether ranked or not. That's my advice!
You are severely underated my guy, remember me when you blow up to like 100k subs :D, and btw thanks so much for this, it will help. for example I would barely pass a 3 star map say BARELY and then Im like ok, Im now ready for 4 star. So yea Thanks for guiding me into the right direction, again you are very UNDERATED and you should have much more subs. I expected atleast 10k but 394 subs? thats way too little, anyways keep up the grind and take care :D
im here after 9 months since i started playing osu im stuck at 4 stars so i think my range is 3-5 stars i can fc 3 stars ez i can fc "some" 4 stars and im around C-B rank in 5 stars i cant seem to imrpove and stuck in the same difficulty beatmaps and here i realized i think i need to actually learn the proper way to improve
i don't see myself completing even a 4star map even after daily practice. its been 3 weeks since i started playing osu and currently i'm struggling to complete even 3 star maps. i see replays of other players and its insane like its humanly impossible to do that, the circles are moving so fast they are barely visible for 0.5 sec, how does one do that??? i'm not saying i wanna be able to do that in just a few months but still its insane that its even possible to do so.
@aDm I was actually able to complete a 4 star map recently. I still suck at streaming tho but I think I might get there eventually. I gotta put in more time ig
maybe try slowing down on the mods and work your way up nomod. eventually, you will be able to fc consistently with nomod, then either add mods or work up to 4 star. the ladder of which, i recommend, because once you feel to consistently fc 4 star, then add mods slowly. don't forget; play more and play slowly (difficulty wise) because if you don't, you could end up ike me... (900k with C rank on 4* consistently) and have to restart the star rating ladder.
im about 930k rn and i finally started to be able to semi-consistently fc 3* maps and i passed my first 5* today but unfortunately i made my finger bleed playing too much osu lol
Man I just feel stuck at 5 stars I just have been there for a long time but can barely just past 6 stars and it infuriates me I want to be able to do 6 stars pretty normally hopefully taking some of this into consideration I can get consistent at 6 stars wish me luck
ive been playing for a few weeks and i can only seem to pass 1-4 star maps, and a few 5's im having lots of trouble playing, but i hope this video helps :D
If you are struggling to get A ranks or FCs consistently, then you might need to consider lowering the star rating just a little bit. Be mindful that you don't want to go into too difficult of maps right away. Only go up in star rating if you can get FCs and/or high accuracy.
ive been 1-2 star maps for almost 1year i cant even pass a 3 star map and sometimes i dunno what breaks my combo and i re watched the clip 10 times and it didnt registered
1-2 stars can be a bit interesting. One of my personal struggles when I started the game was not paying attention to the approach rate. Focus on developing a "rhythm" in your head (pretty much just listen to the song lol) and pay close attention to approach circles.
well that's what i've been trying to do but the problem is, sometimes i hear people saying you should play maps above your level and if you return to your level it should be 'easier', i did'nt believe this for a second but tried it anyway and doesn't really help... obviously. but il 3.5 starish now and wanna try get to 4 star
I personally would work on your own level until you can consistently FC with good accuracy. Playing above your level and returning back down doesn't always work because both star ratings can have many differences (for example, 5 star map with jumps vs 6 star map with bursts).
@@DivineVergrace I see what you mean, however ill stop for a little bit due to a sore wrist, too much work with the mouse for school and know it hurts😅
Yeah, 9 hours without a break is way too long. As you continue to play the game, not having any breaks in between can risk potential hand injuries, even if you feel okay now. I personally dealt with an actual hand injury from playing osu for too long without having breaks, so its very important to take care of yourself.
Can u give tips or training for stream. I can only tap fast with my right fingers since I've been using my right finger to tap for the rest of my life.
If your play style is single tapping (which is fine), a good start would be learning how to alternate (switching between fingers per click) as that alone can help teach you on good finger control. It will be hard to play at first since you are not used to it, but spend a little time and you'll get the habit in. Make sure you have good endurance as streams can be potentially long or really fast. Some tips for that would be to play longer maps at around 4 minutes+ and give higher bpm maps a try. One of my personal favorite maps for stream training is Tower Of Heaven at the 4 star rating, as the streams aren't too long, so it's a pretty good starting point.
I got really stuck in dt farming. My top play is 152pp but a 3 star map with dt. I didn't even fc a normal 5 star and only fced a few 4 stars. I think I shouldnt use dt mod for a week or something

man i can easly play 3-4 * maps without even trying and they are kind of slow and boring for me but i still cant Fc them cuz i keep missing easy stuff. But i can bearly play 5* maps any advice?
if i were you i would play 3-4 star maps with a higher bpm or use the nightcore/double mod to speed them up. its harder to get into the rythym of a slower song
Single tapping refers to only pressing one key. If you notice on some players keystrokes, one key is pressed more frequently than the other. Some people feel more accurate by putting more focus on one finger than the other and is usually reserved for things like triples, bursts or streams. On my videos, I generally use my middle finger as its more comfortable that way compared to alternating between keys. That being said, choose what feels right to you!
Im having like 3 days and 15 hours in game. My avg acc is like 95,50, and i cant pass most 4* bcs i get lost when too much jumps appear and always dies on jumps or reverse sliders
I have a problem where if I complete all the songs in the 3-star range I will move on even though my past scores are in the c to b range. I guess I just wanna improve fast because there are certain 3-star songs I cant do even though I can only do low to medium difficulty 3-star maps. There is this one song called chandelier king that I can not do in the 3-star range idk why. Do you have any tips?
Its important to play at a certain star rating until you can fc it consistently to make sure you are not rushing yourself. Assuming you are fine with 2 star maps and you are working your way into 3 stars, you should really take your time with this range since you will be introduced to certain map styles. It's also a 4 minute song which is pretty long; try slightly shorter maps first if you wish to commit for that pass.
@@DivineVergrace yeah I am 90 percent sure I can fc 2 star maps and am comfortable with 2 star maps. Its just I would so much rather focus on 3 star maps instead of 2 star maps.
