    I got the Mavric 100 Ti after demoing last yeas version. SO i bought the 2024 for this season. There's just someone to them. but for me a 6-1 245lbs guy. the metal makes the skis fell stable when going fast but theyre light enough to get me through the fresh powers days here in Colorado.

    As far as I know, from watching Skiessentials they get the next season skis from the manufacturer the previous season; so these past winter they were trying on skis that will be coming out in 2024. Also they do all the filming throughout the winter and spring and them during the late summer they edit the footage and put together the ski reviews and they start to release them now that they also have the new season skis for sale. Hope I explain it... Keep up the good work but please don't knock other reviewers for not having the same feelings/opinions than you on a certain ski or brand. However when they claim to be expert skiers and give a ridiculos two sentence review you have to call them out for sure!

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You explained it super well thank you! Wasn't knocking it at all. I was genuinely asking why they kind of flooded their channel all at once, but now that makes sense.
      I would hazard a guess that they hold videos until they can also list that model ski for sale perhaps?
      Nothing but love here for SE.

    I’ve had the Maverick 100Ti’s for two seasons, skiing in Washington most weekends. I found it to be versatile but leaves something to be desired in our Cascade “powder”. They are fine on groomers, but they’re a little light and get bumped around easier in chopped up slop. Not awful but noticeable. I am 6’2” and got the 180cm for skiing with the family. My other skis are Ripstick 106 Black editions 188’s which are my go-to in good conditions.

      I agree, If you watch my other Maverick videos, I say the same thing, that's the skis one big weakness is that in really heavy sticky snow, they can get hung up a bit.
      Out in Idaho/UT they do great though.
      Cheers!

    Have tried both bents and mavericks three times in all kinds of widths. Always loved all mavericks but never felt safe or balanced on the bents. The wider bents have been a bit more comfortable but don’t understand how it’s the ”go to” for people in the pist as well. Mavericks has grip, reliabilety, and enough playfullness

    Hey, watched one of your videos and now they continue to pop up on my feed! Guess I enjoy you speaking the truth when it comes to some of the awful ski reviews out there from curated and others. I'd love to get your opinion on a nice all around ski for skiing in PNW i.e. WA specifically. I haven't skied up here yet, having recently moved here from CO, and am looking to get a new set up that will better suit me up here (I'll be specifically riding Steven's Pass with a bit of time at Mission Ridge). I do a lot of touring and have a 95 for my daily driver and a big ole' 118 I use very seldomly for when we get a dump (mostly bought it for the awesome top sheets..hey we all have weaknesses). The new set up will be 100% for in bounds so I won't have a touring binding on it. I am thinking 100 is still a solid width for a daily driver even out here dealing with the cascade concrete..I'd say I am do ski the entire mountain aside from the park. I am interested in this Maverick 100TI..maybe the QST 105..some locals tell me they want something with a bit more heft for those true cascade concrete days.
    Also, I picked up some Bents for a month or so in CO to see what the hype was..I thought it was such a lack luster ski..it really seems as if they are targeting the faux skiers who ski because its the thing to do in CO...they go out, hardly carve, and mostly just most down the greens and blues. Couldn't really pick up speed, poor turn initiation, flops around, etc. I felt like I couldn't even drive it well in the trees because it was just slow..you'd slash around a tree when wanting to initiate a turn and then couldn't pick up speed quickly..Also felt unstable when dropping in on steep chutes when you wanted to feel confident at higher speeds.

      @RicketySkiReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the maverick may just not suit your ski style as much. Based on that comment I would definitely try out the Fischer Ranger series to see if those give you better luck.
      As far as what I would want to ski on in the PNW (tho Idaho is still technically PNW, but I know what you mean) I would take Vorgal's suggestion and try out the Volkl Mantra to get through those sticky snow days, that or I tried the K2 Mindbender 99ti during the summer at Hood and was really happy with how it handled in both firm and sticky snow.
      Hope this helps, thanks so much for the nice comment and for watching!

    Tempted by the Mavericks and new Rustler 9 or even a QST 98.
    I sold a Kastle MX99 which was so sublime in crud and on piste but very heavy and required a lot of input in the woods.
    I got talked into a Kore 99 which is almost as strong on piste, quicker in the woods but the lack of consistency of feel and uber stiff flex have me moving on.
    In the Whistler area I see more love for the Backland with most shops saying the Maverick just aint a vantage no more - too light, to easily deflected. But on paper and from your feedback it seems goldilocks.

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's wild, I literally have a pair of vantages and mavericks side by side on my wall right now, if you like the Vantage, I think the mavericks are actually an improvement. I bet the QST's would shred in Whistler as well. Best of luck!

    I came in to my local ski shop with my Zip Fit liners and bought sized down Lange RX 130 LV shells for them and he started showing me some skis. Guess what he recommended for me? Bent 100s...... They are being pushed quite aggressively it seems. I'd get it if he had brought some Stökli Moneros or Q9s or something. He did eventually bring me a nice pair of Racetigers he had a sale on but I wasn't in the market for something that narrow.

    I clicked on your review down playing the enforcer. I have had them for years and totally agree with you. I think they had their day but dang people seem to be unable to move on. Seems like it is more of a battle axe than the all mountain samurai sword people act like it is. I mean a battle axe will cut through anything, but so much work.
    I skied the 98 Vantage and really liked it. I felt like it wasn't trying to be anything other than a good ski and left the rest to the skier. Any thoughts comparing it to the declivity 102? My wife also has a strong race back round and loves it. I ski a western mountain with little grooming and steeper than average. thx

    I am 5’ 9” 190 lbs. I usually ski on 170cm skis. I like a ski that I can turn very fast, easily. My other ski is a Volkl Mantra M5. I have old pair of Volkl Gotama I want to replace. I am an expert I am 66 years old. I think these would be a good fit. I want a ski I can ski some powder but once it’s tracked out I still want to be able to carve on the hard pack. Hey, recently obtained maveric 95 ti ex demo with strive demo bindings, I like demo bindings as these can be removed which helps when travel by plane and need to save some weight on ski bag. but most importantly they match by jacket color, lol :)

      Demo bindings are a mixed bag, I've always liked having a pair around incase I want to loan skis to a friend from out of town. But then also when I get going fast, I start to find myself worried by the quick release lol.

    Debating between k2 mindbender 99ti and maverick 100ti, need all in one, trees, groomers and powder leftovers 😂 in Colorado? What would you choose?

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great Question! I liked them both. There's a video going live today where my friend Zach and I talk about this a bit, he bought the K2 Mindbender 99ti, and I bought the Atomic Maverick 88Ti/ Salomon QST 106.
      I would say you're on the right track and either way those are both nice skis. It just depends on what you want and what your priorities are. Do you want something light that can carve and is really thoughtful with turn initiation? Go with the Atomic Maverick 100ti. Do you want something that will kind of lock in a turn and rail/ power through all different conditions? Probably the K2 Mindbender.
      What I would do is come up with a list of characteristics you really like in skis and then watch both of my reviews (that I did 1 day apart this summer).
      Here's the Link for the K2 Mindbender 99ti Review: th-cam.com/video/85dRP7FtgWA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eviJaPjXt99HqhmP
      And the Link for the Atomic Maverick 100ti (2024 but same ski different graphic as the 2023):
      th-cam.com/video/JjtSLtniAbA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MdAcaXiLxQ38DUEo
      For me personally I went with the Atomic because I like the way the skis initiate in the tips, love the turn shape, and love the way they float with Horizon tech in the tips. But I was also pleasantly surprised by the K2 Mindbender and think they're very nice skis as well.
      Hope this helped. Thanks for watching!
