National Wonders - The Olney Pancake Race

Welcome to the first of our National Wonders...
On Shrove Tuesday we visited the village of Olney in Buckinghamshire where for almost 700 years the resident womenfolk have been competing in a pancake race along the streets of this rural idyll.
It attracts visitors and spectators from all over the world and since 1950 has been run in competition with a town in Kansas called Liberal (made famous as the home of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz). Watch our little film to find out who was victorious.
