Thanks for posting this. I immediately learned something new with the enhanced damage reduction the last squad gets. We immediately saw Aquila's limitations when you were forced to target the Baltimore. How do you feel about CV sniping with Aquila? In tier 10 games in TBs, with larger maps, I've taken to crossing the map in attack mode to get the extra speed. I predrop squads 1 and 2 and go in with a single strike. It allows for faster churn while protecting your reserves. Most of the time you'll only get 1 torp off but its better than losing the entire squad. I love forcing DD players to respect the rockets.
You can CV snipe for about 10-15k a strike against most carriers. But the other CV will kill you faster due to you lacking AA to consistently defend yourself. Plane losses are inevitable with this CV and it only gets worse when striking anything with meaningful AA. Just have to pick your targets wisely. And yes, slingshotting and predropping is the way to go with Aquila to utilize that damage reduction to it's fullest.
Aquilla is one of those CV's that are "Looks very original" but just like Hornet it does not have much in terms of flexibility . Main gimmick boils down to one thing where in case of Hornet it is the B25 squad able to deal a ton of dmg...and in case of aquilla are the 2x5 AP rockets and 2x3 torps
That Akizuki player made my day 😂 i love the salty tears of DD players getting beaten hard because making mistakes. Tasty like good mead. Very often i hear "BB`s don`t need Juliet Charlie signal". Normadie: detonates. WG removing the detonation mechanics because players fail to purchase a few cheap signals. Nice gameplay, Rei, love your content and just purchased WOWS Commander to support you a little.
It was a funny interaction but still...even the biggest clown can do the least of stuff to get you killed Considering it was a double CV game then Aki could have taken a far slower approach towards cap as to deny taking it instead of outright b-line'ing into it and getting dogpiled as the target of highest importance
@@MrTrool323 Pretty right. Even when he smoked, his movement was clear to see. Easy target, easy kill. Don`t ask me how many DD`s i killed with CV`s as first blood... most DD players act very stupid when spotted, are easy to find and kill because they don`t know to use their AA the right way and when it`s better to use smoke. Using smoke when spotted is far too late. Sometimes i play a DD myself, and even not a good DD player at higher tiers, i never had a problem with CV`s. One day i played my Shiratsuyu without smoke but torpedo reload booster in a division with a cruiser and a BB. We had a 2 CV game, one tier 6 and one tier 8. My buddies feared that it could be a hard game for me, but both opponent CV`s failed spot me for more than a few seconds. Got 3 kills this battle and survived, last kill was the tier 6 CV. Only had a few scratches and 2 holes in my Shira from BB AP. Got 3 caps, one was stolen from an opponent DD and i took it back after the cruiser in my divi sunk him. Playing with 2 not so good CV players in the opponent team gave me a "DD broken OP" feeling. Our team was good, too, so it was an easy win.
