If you can find a round backplate to put under the crystal knobs for the bookshelf doors, that would look perfect IMHO. YES, restore the desk. That finish matches the light and knobs so much better than black. Everything is really lovely!

Also, I think the black handle that your mom picked out will be the best look for the cabinet and then the doors can be unique in that space. You all are doing a great job. Kudos

Oh let's not forget about the floors and the desk being restored to life with the love you have for each other and your house. As far as the door knobs are concerned I would personally pick black, because you have a black and white theme with the door knobs and outlet covers. Hi Kayla ... Let me just say I love, love your office transformation.. You and Marcus have done such a good job. Also I love all the Krystal door knobs. I am obsessed with your desk. In my opinion, that wood is too pretty to paint. I vote for restoring the desk as you already are. You are doing am amazing job. So far your office is my favorite room in the house. One additional touch I would suggest is to add a thin moulding to form a shadow box look on the front of the bench; then caulk the edges and paint the moulding the same color as the bench. However, if you decide not to, everything still looks amazing. Great Job!!!

Hi Kayla the knob that your mom picked for the office cabinets looks best to me because it helps the light switch and outlet plates stand out…the other option helps the chandelier stand out but that already has the compliment of the door handles🥰

At first I was team panel removal, but after seeing the room painted you were right it looks great. I love that y'all removed those slats on the door it's looks so much more modern.
I think paint the desk for sure, and remove the feet and a more current feet/foundation that fits your home style. The desk with those feet gives gothic or old world. 🤔

2= As far as the desk for what you show already. I say paint it however I have to see the end of you restoring it to give my final thought of my opinion. Maybe you should think about painting the desk a nice light green to give a pop of color, will go with the color scheme you have. XOXO to both of ya'll

RESTORE A FINISH for the win. Personally I like seeing the nicks and stuff it just adds to the character of the desk and the room. You can always paint it black later if you want to. Also I like mixed wood tones as much as I like mixed metals. Nearly to the end of the vid u guys did a fab job. Well done Marcus it’s like night and day from when you first started diying ❤

Okay I’m actually obsessed with how the brick turned out! I love that the slight rough look it has to it, it gives me farm house vibes! But it’s also SO different from the rest of the house which I love, especially the light switch and outlet covers! Those were a good find 👏🏼 DEFINITELY use the second pull knobs too to tie it all together even more and gives more dimension against the white. It also kinda meshes with the legs on the desk too!

I like the glass knobs for the cabinet because it matches the door knobs on the French doors. You can paint the little flower center of the knob black to match the door hardware. Also on the vent opening on the window seat, I would put some sort of frame around the opening to make it look crisp, maybe quarter round 😊

I'd recommend frosting the glass between the office and kitchen so there's privacy. Also, I would recommend tinting the bay window with privacy tint film so you can see out but no one can see in. That way you'll feel super safe and still have visual impact in the space. Happy decorating. ❤
You both did such a good job on the office. So I was thinking I know that the restoration for the desk is where you're leaning but I honestly think that you can paint it a deep bronze/black and it will look better. Something that matches the color of the face plates. The wood color is pretty but I just think doesn't go with the room maybe if u wanted to sand it and restain it, that'd be a better wood look but that is going to take a lot of work.

I would put the 'teak' desk in the room to see how it looks.
It depends on what other decor you match it with.
But, if it was my desk, I would paint it with white chalk paint. Fill in a few chips and scratches with wood filler. Sand smooth. Give it abit of a distressed look, like the walls.
Paint, sand in between coats to get the chalk paint smooth. Distress abit on the sides where the ridges on the furnitire are to make that detail stand out. And wax seal when complete to make sure your piece is nice and sraled, to avoid coffee cup stains, etc. I would use coasters for cups in future.
I would paint the desk hardware black unless you want to replace the hardware with crystal knobs like the doors.
When you add the greenery, pops of colour it will all come together.
I am not mad about the walnut colour, chips and stains, but, that is just my taste.

EVERY single touch of your home as you continue to renovate has been spectacular Your hard labor and Marcus' is so inspiring and proves how much a lot of elbow grease can create a house of your dreams. I LOVE everything. The one thing I think we disagree on is the office walls. In my humble opinion I would have gone ALL German schmear OR ALL opaque (my personal preference ) but as someone once told me "It's your house " Another great room Congratulations. Also am a big lover of old school glass door knobs etc. My house was built in 1932 😯 and I swear it's held together with spit and mortar Don't even talk about uneven !! The entire house is sideways 😂I laugh or else I'd cry. I just pray I have a roof over my head . But neither my husband or I have a single drop of DIY knowledge in our blood so once my dad aged and stopped w/ renos we have been at a standstill (waiting for it to fall down around us ) Love the videos Keep up the good work Blessings xo
