I cannot even imagine what it is like to have gone through all the horrors you have experienced and witnessed, and then to get completely gaslit when people do not believe you. But please take heart : survivors are feeling safe and courageous enough to come out and speak. Right now in France there is a film called The Survivors (Les Survivantes) which presents the story of eight survivors. It is only being shown in a few theaters but is still making its impact felt. Thank you. I am absolutely raging about misogyny and victim blaming that seems to be prevalent in this world. It can be so hard to constantly witness it. I'm just starting to find my voice now, and wanting to go on podcasts to advocate.
Kaia my dear, I am a survivor too. At 14 I was raped and was very fortunate to have escaped being murdered. This happened in San Francisco. Fast forward to 19 years old, I was a university student and had fallen head over heals in love with a young man who was a so called “Jesus Freak”. Although I had lost my faith in God, I felt this inexplicable divine feminine power growing in me that seemed to come from my womb. I began buying red clothes. I was very into the color red. I created a work of art that looked kind of like red and pink fire flaming wildly in various directions. Years later I learned about Mary Magdalene and her relationship to Jesus. Then, I didn’t know why I felt such a strong identity with her. I am experiencing her presence again but in a far greater manner. I pray to her now and am working on a portrait of her with her red roses. When I cry, I feel as it’s her tears falling down my face. She’s so much a part of me and I love and adore her. I am your mother’s generation Kaia. I think you could use a nurturing hug. Hugs my dear. Please continue lighting the way out of the darkness. 🌹❤
