I have all three (85, 110, 140). They are truly excellent knives for the price -- and the sheaths are wonderful, too. I like Mora, but IMO these are superior. I have the two Skramas (200, 240) on order, and I should have them in a few days. Shipping to the US has been very reasonably priced and very quick. I would recommend a purchase of any of these over any of the Moras, if you are looking for knives of that type, in this price range.

Hell yeah, these are awesome, I also am getting a skrama 240,I absolutely love my 140mm, at first glance I thought it'd be too big, been got to thinking I'd have more real a state when batoning through wood an also as a defensive tool out in the bush if this was all I had on me,been great so far,I usually don't do tip testing due to fear of many knives breaking, nut these an the gerber strong arm are great for it an great heat treat, I highly recommend this company from Finland.

For me it is the one of the best overall bushcraft / survival combo knives period.
And believe me, I have a lot of knives. One can find fancier knife but very difficult to find more reliable one.
And I have some knives in range of 800 to 1000 $ US.
The combination of hardness 59 hrc, toughness, thickness, weight, easy of sharpening, edge retention and list go on.
If this knife, with its characteristics was product of some fancy custom US knife maker or fancy Company it would cost 250 to 350 $ US easily.
You cannot find the equivalent quality leather sheath that it comes with it under 100 $ US.

@@kennywheelus6857 for sure, the handle on the jakkari puukko fits to hand, it’s not complicated and it feels like the rubber is gripping back when you grip it.
The one place the Garberg excels is the spine, it’s super sharp and the 14c27n is brilliant for Scottish weather but that being said the jakkari puukko can still throw sparks, and maintained the steel will have no issue either.

How do you like it? I bought both the 110 and 140 about a year ago while I was living in the states, but I ended up returning both - just wast a good timing, and was an impulsive buy. I drooled over the 140, but when I held both, I found that the 110 seemed pretty much just as good. Didn’t get to try them in the field, though, so that’s why I’m asking.😊

@@whengrapespop5728 well, my hands are big so even if it's a "big" knife it feels nice in my hands, but in reality the 110 is more practical. My father prefers the 110 because he has average size hands. For me the handle feels great and comfortable. Also is really sharp. The factory edge was not good at all but I changed the grind and now it's convex or scandivex, which (for me) works better than a secondary v edge (I also tried true scandi at the beginning but I prefer convex). I've use it for an entire year really hard. I've done a lot of batoning and it's still perfect. The edge retention is good enough for me. It doesn't need to sharpen too often but I do strop a lot and that's how it keeps sharp for long time.
It's also really flexible. I remember splitting a branch in half using the knife as a lever (not sure if lever is the correct word). I would not split wood that way anymore but I saw how flexible the blade really is with no problem, due to it's differential heat treatment. I don't know what else I can tell you but I have a really good experience with this knife
Edit: Another thing that may be interesting to mention is about the coating. The black paint is not resistant at all. My knife lost the black paint really quick and now it has a natural silver color. The time has pass and now it has a thin grey patina but is not dark enough. It's not a problem for me anyway. Just be sure to oil the blade and keep it dry.

      @arielgarcia5065 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@whengrapespop5728 it's logic, the 110 is tougher. It's harder to break a shorter piece of steel which is equally thick and has the same height. The mini puukko and mini skrama are even tougher

The better one depends on your needs. I like the size of the 110 for most things. For pure batonning the 140 would be the better choice

I recommend you guys go and check out www.roselli.fi and get some insane Wootz UHC scandis to test: hardness 66 - 68 HRC, tensile strength approx 2500N/mm2, carbon content 1.8%

Well, I'm sold, what a work horse. Ugly as shit too, looks like it's made for abuse. I want one to bang around camping. I don't have a "bushcraft" knife, I use a hatchet to whack wood my knife is saved for the 4 C's cut, carcase, cordage or cooking. I'm absolutely sold on this one. Which is the better buy, this knife or the Cold Steel SRK?

Also, what do you make of the Mora 2000 in comparison with the other Mora knives?

In terms of Durability, this knife is spot on!
Considering all that happened was the handle came a little lose and some light edge damage (som small knicks and deformations), just some good glue and resharpening can fix.
Still not what id take for my go-to knife, but that is cus I am a bit more picky in terms of my knives shape, handle design, cutting capability etc, one of the reasons the edge help up so well was the rough angle of the blade, which doesnt impact how sharp it can be, but does impact how well it will cut.
But I have no doubt they have found a nice balance between the steels Hardness and Toughness (too hard and it becomes too brittle, too "Tough" and it becomes soft, "tough" isnt the right word i feel, but dont remember the english word for it. "Seg" in swedish).
