The title of the video should be "How liberals went extinct and the Leftists who made it happen".
No, we are here. Who do you think the ever growing politically homeless and independents are? But the left and the right are so obsessed with each other that you think no one else exists. And it's the independents who are deciding the election.
Leftists didn't make it happen, ignorant Republicans did. Most leftists consider themselves to be progressives or socialists. People like Tulsi Gabbard, Joe Rogan, and RFKJr. still consider themselves to be Liberals.

Ever since the "Left" took over the Democratic Party I've become an Independent and call myself an "Old School Liberal" to make myself clear that I want nothing the "Left" offers. I now have positive conversations with Republicans and other Conservatives, find we agree on many things, and am willing to compromise if it means bringing sanity back to our country.
I became a bleeding heart conservative after leaving the dems.
Everything you described as a “Liberal” would now be considered “Right Wing Extremism” by the Left.

Liberalism and libertarianism have nothing in common. Liberalism prescribes a moral and just set of laws within which to operate, libertarianism prescribes practically anarchy.
Progressives are in no way liberal. The problem is that conservative pundits refer to everyone on the left as "Liberals" - which is completely false.

What you call "Anarchy" is called Anarcho-Capitalism which is the extreme of Libertarianism, but then again some people have considered me an Anarcho-Capitalist, when I'm actually a Minarchist Libertarian which means that I prefer Strictly Minimal Government and a Completely Unregulated Free Market Capitalist Economy.
So what Dennis is saying is, Liberals and Conservatives politically are almost the same but with a few policy differences.

No conservatives moved left. Conservatives didn't care about freedom of speech until it affected you in 2016. That and the injection of libertarians. I remember the fire and brimstone conservatives, you guys don't even go to church.
What he's getting at is that both the groups we call Liberals and Conservative subscribe to the basic tenets of Liberalism, which is true. But now to separate the corrupted conception of the word, we have to say Classical Liberal, to distinguish it from modern Liberal, which is essentially Leftist.
But Leftism doesn't sell to a wide audience. Better to hijack existing popular words and ideas than to get people used to new ones, like how Disney "improved" Star Wars instead of risking a new "Wokes in Space" series.

I believe the liberals and Conservatives of up until about 40 years ago had the same basic goals for the country their prime difference was in prioritizing those goals as well as how to achieve those goals.

Technically, the proper term for this kind of liberalism is "classical liberalism".
Only because Leftist academics subverted the original term, the same as they've done for gender, why we now we have to preface with "biological" when speaking of an actual man or woman and not some self-identified bs.

@@MisteryMan2000 Nope. They are the EXACT same thing. Before the Leftists usurped the term for subversive purposes, one had never had to use the term "classical liberal." There was just "liberal." Indeed, in most other places besides the US, that is still the term in use. What is erroneously called "liberal" in the US is ACTUALLY a collectivist-authoritarian political philosophy. This ought to be obvious to anyone by now. True Liberalism is the antithesis of ANY form of collectivism or authoritarianism. Friedrich Hayek represents the true Liberal philosophy. "The Constitution of Liberty" outlines the real principles of a Liberal society. Read it.

I would like a similar video distinguishing between Conservative and Right.
I would like to see that too. He needs to cover everything from the farthest right (Anarchists) to the center-right (Republicans). Unfortunately, Dennis doesn't know the difference between a Classical Liberal (Thomas Jefferson, not FD Roosevelt) and Liberals, so someone needs to enlighten him on that.

From what I can tell, the comic book industry has been overrun with leftists at least since the 1970s.

Great video. I now understand why as a conservative (not Republican) I could often find common ground with many Liberals until around the year 2000. Liberalism in the West has been highjacked by the Left. This also explains why the MSM constantly trumpet that Western Conservativism is actually now Fascism.

I say labels morph so much that too many people have different meanings. I recommend looking first from liberty and tyranny.
If you respect the unalienable rights of others, you believe in liberty. If you violate the unalienable rights of others, you believe in tyranny. When you read the Declaration on Independence Day, you should notice, Governments (plural) are instituted to secure unalienable rights. Nothing more. Left/right, liberal/conservative, ... are often about things the government should not do.
I remember first being aware of Dennis Prager 11 years ago. He rubbed me the wrong way. His take on Altruism and his unfounded attacks on Atheism made me seriously dislike him.
But over the last few years I’ve become convinced that he is one of the most sensible Conservative pundits. Has he changed and gotten better? Perhaps. Conservatives have a long way to grow still but I like a lot of the changes I’ve been seeing.
I’m a classical liberal couldn’t explain it as I’m now now far right. Weird.

They are functionally the same. They share a lexicon and a set of behaviors, and they support the same institutions. I don't care if they feel differently about them.
When we have one global government with one global currency, no borders is fine, preferably based on the US Constitution. Until then we have borders and the US dollar. You can't complain there are no rooms at the hotel without a reservation in advance.

Yes. Liberals and progressives/socialists disagree on these ideas, but they agree on a lot of other things.

The issue with BLM is that it never had anything to do with morality and justice. It is a social justice narrative that enforces a victim mindset onto black people who were never slaves in order to seek reparations from people who never owned slaves.
When people hear "Black Lives Matter," they think to themselves, "No shit!". No one in their right mind has ever said or thought black lives don't matter. That's because all lives matter in the minds of normal people.
That leads to the next reason that people disagree with the movement(not the sentiment). Every race/ethnicity on this planet were slaves in the past. Not just black people. You've never seen a movement called "White Lives Matter", or "Asian lives Matter", or "British Lives Matter", etc. That's because no normal/sane person one on this planet believes that their race/ethnicity matters more than any other when it comes to injustice and slavery.
The fact is that black people are not "special". Everyone has been through terrible things in the past and present. All people deal with injustice by police, government or racially motivated crimes.The world doesn't revolve around them, but they want it to. IT'S SELFISH!
