He says he steps away from humanism but doesn't step away from the morals. Is something consider "harm" like pollution and climate change can they be said to be bad or good on a universal or even Earth wide scale?
All they do is inflict a change, from the change something new will happen. Who knows what will stem from that change though.

Wonderful speech. I suppose the ending begs the question: why are some things like helping people *fundamentally* good without an ultimate purpose?

Because you are related to other people and humans like many social animals have a natural desire to help those related to them to insure the species. And it could possible go further since humans are related to other mammals in the world, mammals will often help others not of their own direct species.

@@stormweaver82 what you mention is a purpose as well for human species, or mammals based on the idea that we act for our main survival instincts . However, this biology-based theory still depends on our 3D perception towards universe, which is the last level we are only able to observe. the probability of presence of sth more than that is not higher?

This.....sounds like the typical far left questioning human progress, when most likely I would speculate that he would call himself a 'progressive'. And I didn't hear him propose anything really so much as question the status quo. Talking about all the consequences of humans but if humanism is the progress of mankind than it is in are very nature to fix the problems as we go...not stop what we are doing every time there is a single negative response to are actions.
