In this video I explain why you shouldn't update your iPhone XR, XS/XS Max, 11/11Pro and SE 2 to iOS 17 in details. But I also tell you how you should update your older iPhone to iOS 17 if you really want to. Hope you like it!

My Xs has issues where calls are robotic/ quiet or the mic doesn’t pick the voice to the other caller on ios 17+ update. Phone app is quite buggy. The only choice is to use whatsapp of facebook for instant calls

Absolutely not true , I’m using xs max and ios17 resolved alot of lag issues for me , actually i strongly advise to update.

I would wait , I got iOS 17 on my 11 pro yesterday and I don’t like it. Everything works great, but I have noticed my battery is draining a bit faster. My battery is at 96% capacity and I feel like battery was better staying on iOS 16.6.1

You do realize both of those phones were released in 2018, because the year before that 2017 that’s when the iPhone 8 iPhone 8plus and the iPhone X was all introduced in 2017. And then the iPhone, XS iPhone XR we’re all introduce the same year.
So therefore, the iPhone XS and XR should have the A12 chip

IOS 17 has destroyed my XR battery, I had 94% health now I have 86% It drops 30% during the night. I have low power mode enabled, background refresh off, mail fetch off, brightness set to 20% location and bluetooth off, I deleted power hungry apps but still my battery drains before my eyes, I actuall see the numbers going down
Wow gonna keep my XS Max on 15.7 not upgrading! It lasts all day and no power drain during night at all.

Huh? My iPhone 11 gets the inline autocorrect and keyboard prediction. My battery is normal, I don’t feel any drain at all. In fact, it feels better than iOS 16. I’ve installed iOS 17 since developer beta 1, it runs fantastically. The standout features like Standby, interactive widgets are hard to miss. I highly recommend installing iOS 17 to iPhone 11 users.

I just updated IOS 17 on my XS Max. I think it took 20 minutes to update completely. So far, so good. I haven't tested everything out yet. But I tested the iMessages changes and that worked well. No obvious change in speed yet. My battery was at 100% when I installed it so I won't know if it affects battery life until tomorrow. But I do know that updates can affect battery life the first week and then get better and that is okay with me.

I updated and so far it's running great on my XR. Makes the phone feel new and fresh, even texts and icons looks a bit more crisp and animations are smooth. Battery life also seems the same as iOS 16 for me my iPhone is at 94% battery health. I've charged up to 100% last night and I don't think I have to charge until 6pm tonight.

I have an iPhone xs max, since I updated to IOS 17, I charge the iPhone, the battery does not charge above 75%.

I updated my XR two days ago, so far I didn't notice any problems, my battery was at 80% before the update ( Ik it's bad, I have it for about 3 years, I will update to a new phone in a couple of months anyway) and I didn't feel any change in that field. Over all it runs smooth and works just like it did before.

If you have an Apple Watch Series 4 or higher - YOU HAVE to update to iOS 17 in order to update the watch to OS 10.

I just updated to the iOS 17 and truth be told it’s so far great and the experience is super smooth. And my phone’s no longer overheating like it used to when I was on 16. I guess I’m just lucky 🍀 😊

Got it on my XS and it feels great. Keyboard is super nice with way better predictive text and the spotlight search and general usage feels way smoother and faster. Not sure on battery though
yes keyboard feels much better, over all fresh, but the battery got hit. my iphone xs's battery timing has decreased after updated to ios 17. my battery health is similar to 83% before and after the update but the battery timing has gone down up to 30 mints. its sad

@@mauriciogutierrez4571 depends on battery health. Mine is alright but not amazing. If im watching videos ect it does drain the battery but for normal useage it is perfectly fine for me. My battery health is at 94% and it does the job fine

This vide should be considered fake news. The 'specialist' selling phone covers down the street explains to us about the new iOS the same day it appears. I upgraded my SE2020 and every little thing you say is false. It is faster than ever, I have most of the new features, the battery life was not affected at all.

@@haissemsoninato hi, it seems to behave exactly like ios16. I have been very careful with my battery though. I got this phone new six months ago (battery health still 100%), always keeping the battery between 20% to 80% and not using any fast charger.

Last February i my battery got 74 percent and I replaced a new one with apple so with my new battery 99 percent it works very fast and perfect

So i have an iphone 11 with battery percentage (75%) and it may decrease after the update too. I really wanna update it to ios 17 but i am afraid of the battery draining or heating issues mainly.
My avg screen time is around 4-5 hrs with around 25-35 % still left at the end of the day. Should i update now or should i wait a month or 2?

Facts!
I updated my IPhone XS and, for some reason, the Standby Mode doesn't work properly. Actually it does starts, but the data (time, calendar etc) keeps totally blank on the standby screen (no number, no letters, nothing). I've already restarted the phone, turned off/on the function and tested several tips i got on TH-cam. Nothing working so far.
I have an IPhone 11 and I’m thinking about upgrading either this year or next year because for me the note app is blank so I will need to update my software to IOS 17
I’m still on iOS 14.7 on my XS Max, that’s what they tried to keep people on iOS 15 then forced people to update iOS 16 on the XS max and stopped security updates after iOS 15.7.
I’m on 15.7 I’m not upgrading I don’t want my XS Max battery to get worse or the phone to get slower it works perfect.
But most new Apps won’t let you update unless you’re on the latest IOS 😬
So after updating iphone Xr to ios 17. It starting freezing a lot. Started getting slow then started restarting itself recently. Battery health went to 80% . Can’t use apps for long. If I don’t use any apps. It stays normal. If i do open any apps or try app update. Boom it restarts

I've received the update on my SE 2 a few days ago and it does not want to install the update and I have tried it many times, but now I'm glad it didn't work.
StandBy mode still works on all iOS 17 devices but it will just turn off if it doesn't have an Always On display
Just Updated My 3 year Old IPHONE XR. Battery health is still at 98%, Phone is much faster,No heating bugs.

2.Don’t use a fast charger.
3.Don’t charge it overnight.
4.Turn on Reduce Motion.
5.I don’t play games at all.
6.Don’t use a back cover (Heats up your phone)
7.Disable Auto-Brightness.
8.Never use Low power Mode (Makes your phone slower & it’s not good for your battery)
9.Turn off notifications from apps you don’t need.
10.Always keep everything updated.
That’s all.

How the heck you managed to keep almost perfect battery health after 3 years?! I also have an XR an been using it for 3 years too. My battery health is at 81%. I even turned off some features right away after purchase and charged it properly in order to retain my battery health. Maybe you didn't even use your phone at all, only for calls and texts?

When I updated my 11 the Face ID issue which was there for about 6 months was solved after the update and everything else feels great.

I wished I watched this video the first moment I got my 11. It's on iOS 16.6.1 out of the box IIRC. I was offered an update for iOS 16.7 but I just chose iOS 17 at the bottom coz I think, why not update to the latest because the phone seems to support it.
Though experiencing iOS 17 on the 11 is fine, though in the earlier versions only (up until iOS 17.1.2). Going further tanks the battery life of my phone with its peak at iOS 17.4.1. Though, updating it to iOS 17.5.1 seems to bring it back to iOS 17.1.x levels in terms of battery life. I can really say about performance in comparison to iOS 16 because I had only used that version for a few moments before eventually updating it to 17 after setting up my phone.

I have both xr & 11 pro. Updated to ios 17. I felt lag and unresponsive touch on both because both devices battery was on service. Once i replaced the battery now both my devices is back to its original glory and speed. Not sure why are people against updating iphones. In my case it worked fine

I have and Iphone 12 and the IOS 17.1.1 has broken my iMessage. For me this is a complete disaster as it is impacting my business. This is all just counterintuitive information, as, not all iPhone model get the same updates with every new iteration since god knows when, anyways.. Been running it with no issues whatsoever on my iPhone XS max, and I would never go back to iOS 16.
