- Today we're taking on the best bot in Rocket League. The Nexto bot is around GC3 level in 1's which shouldn't be too hard to beat but I'm not only 1v1'ing it, I'm 1v2 and 1v3'ing them so this should get interesting!!

They're creating a new bot called "Tecko" which is speculated to become an SSL, and compared to Nexto, which has 330k adjustable parameters, Tecko has 3.4 MILLION. You can see tecko's progress on the RLGym Twitch Channel

there is a bot called bumble bee and it's designed to play 2's/3's however they're ranked at about Gold 3.

The final version of the bot is not 1710. It’s like 2350 or something

I feel like the next best way to practice/warm-up would be going against these bots. I could honestly see RL Pros or top level players popping this or a more experienced bot in before something.

what if they added a refined "hive mind" of the bumble bee 3's bot and give it to nexto? they would actually be filthy if they can have perfect knowledge of where each of them are on the field and being able to set up some disgusting 3 pass goals that even freestylers would take multiple tries to get close to the net. the bumble bee bot itself has an alright aerial, but it seems they go for aerials more than nexto. maybe they could add a bit of that aerial aggression that u don't see very often in this video?
This was not the final version of nexto (the final version doesn't have the version number next to it).
If it doesn't update in rlbot, a quick reinstall helps.

I just tried the newer nexto bot and its even more insane i literally cant win against it im doing fast double resets and its just reading it like it was nothing like this bot is SSL 2
btw this is an older version of the bot, also cap fps at 120 or 240 for it to work properly.

I find it interesting that in the 3v3 the bots stay in the same order on the scoreboard throughout as if they have different skill levels despite having the same brain. I'm curious what is causing that difference.
@@grapejuiceguru I know why each play would be imbalanced, but I would think the imbalances would balance out over the course of a full 5 minute match, but the gaps between each bot grew consistently throughout. This suggests to me that there is some other factor involved in the discrepancy. It's impossible to know very much with the single game as our only data sample, but it's enough to pique my curiosity.

@@timlong4791 the statistical likelihood of what you observed isn't all that low; it is only one game. play 1000 games and their average scores will be in agreement.
@@matthewstortini7129 I know, that's what I said in a comment responding to someone else in this thread, but there are other factors that could be at play in regards to the Ai. So, I'm just saying it'd be interesting to see if any patterns emerge from a much larger collection of games.

Yo Retals. What was your fps while playing those bots? They play best at 120 fps because that’s what they trained against eachother at. 240 also works, but 120 is best.
seems like if defending flicks, inconsistency with following through on open nets, and wall/flip reset/air dribble/ceiling shot/double touches are your weak points, 1v1ing these guys will iron out your game.

That was not the latest version of nexto, you need to update the botpack in rlbot.
Nexto is really op, though there's something I'm noticing, for you nexto doesn't go for boost steals, doesn't really go for bumps, can't aerial more than a fast aerial... and you guys play with nexto on orange team, I'm starting to question if its because I put nexto on blue team that they play so much better against me, I was playing a few games last night and yeah they took the boost every chance they got, they would flick the ball high and bump me then catch the ball to score, and once only once nexto actually air dribbled against me and since then he's been trying to go for them.
The final version of nexto is a lot better. They go for boost steals and they have fast aerials. They go for bumps too.

The fact that Retals doesn’t even need awesome mechanics to be one of the best in the world is insane.
Edit: Retals has said that his mechanics are bad many times. Of course, compared to normal players his mechanics are insane, but compared to other pros they aren’t the BEST mechanics. Especially compared to his tm8s Arsenal and Daniel.
