The rigid MAC ( up to 1951) is a light sporting bike, great handling and the mainstay of classic racing in NZ for the pre-war class, In full cry will take on the OHC models. The later spring frame MAC is a great town bike, reasonable tourer and the most pleasant of all Velocettes to ride and shares the same frame as the MSS 500, Viper 350 Sports and Venom 500 sports.
The Veloce (Latin for speed) Ltd. - later on Velocette - was established by Johannes Gütgemann, a German who was born in 1856 near the birthplace of Beethoven. I don't know if he and his sons were jokers, but the letter "K" in KSS or KTT stands for "Königswelle" the German word for upright shaft. Cheers!
Nice bit of background info! There are quite a few other brands that had their upright shaft engine. Chase and NSUs perhaps the oldest of them, but even more contemporary like the Ducati 900 Supersport or the Kawasaki W800 - While the word Königswelle might bring a giggle, it could be worse and be called a morgenlatte. 😁

I have got a Venom and a Full Spring MAC. Tbh, I prefer to ride the MAC as well.
I love those old Velocette's. Awesome encounter
Nice machine. Some of the Velo’s were the best looking bikes. Thanks for the video.
What a gorgeous bike! 😁 I'd say that's one proud owner, well worth the 19 months to restore it!
A touch of class.
I felt like a complete fraud parking my interceptor next to it - doesn't even have a kickstarter 😁
@@frankysworld 😂😂😂😂😈😈
