    I've seen a lot of Pyriformis Colony on TH-cam so far. This video is definitely the best. I salute you for raising a colony of this size. From Japanese ant lovers

    Maybe add another tube or install a single larger one making more room for 2 way traffic.

    I really like your videos! You inspire me to want to raise ants of this species. I am Thai and have a great interest in this type of ant. However, I'm not yet ready to find or take care of them. In the future, I want to have ants like these. ❤

    Great video. And man those are some amazing ladies! Wish I could keep them here (northeast USA). You have some really amazing species ‘down’ there. Thanks for sharing. Oh. Btw
    Do you recommend a semis decent macro lens to use on an iPhone without investing in a DSLR camera?
    Your macro is exactly what I’m hoping for.

    If you start a new colony, I would suggest simply connecting the new nest to your starter. The ants should move in, leaving the outworld pretty much empty. If they're going slow, cover the nest so it's dark, or place a sheet if red plastic on top of it.
    I'm not saying you did it wrong, just that there are other ways. You are learning, keep learning.👍

    We subbed, because we love nature and have quite some collective knowledge, but after trying to identify a colony in our garden realized that our ant game is outdated! Keep up the great work Anna, looking forward to your future content 🙂

    Awesome work, keep doing videos like this! So sad here in Argentina we don't have those giant ants, they are beautiful.

    • @DailyDoseOfNature8
      @DailyDoseOfNature8 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is so surprising to me, we live in Paraguay and there are quite some species of fairly large ants, have you ever seen any leaf cutter ants in Argentina?
      I am currently looking for an identification on a beautiful colony that lives in our garden. They look like Golden tailed spiny ants but that makes no sense because they live in Asia, according to my little research. Identifying ants is pretty hard I have to step up my ant game :-)

      I have two new colonies of leaf cutters but they are nowhere near that big, maybe the queen can be as big as this workers. But maybe there are here and i'm not aware, i'm quite new in the hobby but i'm eager to keep learning about it and step up my ant game as you said :)@@DailyDoseOfNature8

      haha, good idea! It's a lot of fun just walking into forests looking for ants and then see if you can see any trail you can follow. or even just follow a single ant.@@lautaropreisegger7692

    Hi, it's amazing to see that on the other side of the world someone else is doing the same breeding. I also have these girls in a nest that I created and which I also show on video. I'm not a fan of the connecting pipe that "blocks" the Myrmecias' inlet outlet (the species makes large inlets) and not a fan either of a sponge system for moistening (I find it quite hard to use, I'm not saying it's a bad thing :) ) On the other hand, with all your larvae, you were right to offer them a large nest, otherwise you would have had disabled ants or dead ants in the cocoons, because of the crowded cocoons. I've just subscribed ;) and I'm going to follow the progress of your colony (at home I have a colony and a foundation, my channel is in French, but if you want to have a look ;) )

    A very beautiful family. I would like to know the history of the appearance, when the queen appeared to you, how long this family has been living and developing with you. Features of behavior.

    This is so cool. This makes me want an ant colony of my own. What kinds of ants are good for someone new to ant keeping? These ones seem like they have a strong bite lol

      Myrmecia is definitely not a beginner species in my opinion as they can bit and sting. I would suggest Pheidole, Nylanderia and camponotus if you're new!
