This tier list is useless without talking about how expensive some of these S tier builds are compared to other S and A tier builds. It’s all muddled together without context. You’re just going to encourage newbies to gun for some of these top builds without them realizing how impractical they are as first characters. For example, a new player could see that a Lightning Sorc and Blizz Sorc are on the same tier and decide to go Lightning because… pretty… without realizing that Lightning is impossible to make work without Griffon’s Eye and a Merc with super expensive Infinity polearm for Conviction Aura, whereas a Blizz or Frozen Orb Sorc are easy to gear as first characters because their gear is flexible and allows for incremental upgrades early on. I feel like just slapping all the builds on a list without talking about which ones are easy to obtain and which ones are super endgame is going to mess up a lot of new players.

100% agree. There is an SSF tier list, and a MF tier list, but not a tier list that is a mix between the two. At the end of the day, I just always go blizzard sorc because I know it works and I've done it before, even if it may not be the best starter (maybe it is, or maybe it isn't, I don't know).
How about a budget magic finding tier list? Basically revisit this assuming no Enigma, no Anni, no Torch, no Infinity, and all budget / self-found? How would the list change? Thanks for the content and all these cool videos. It's much appreciated.
well, then u dont need a list lol... its basicly just the sorc (cold/fire - light is not budget). u could add barbs in there but with realy budget eq its killspeed is still way slower compared to a sorc (not to mention the move speed, but u can work around that by farming easy to reach areas)
Looked around for that info myself and looked at a lot of vids and info dumps on it, and most ppl say that the very best character to gather items on early is a Blizz Sorc since you can farm many areas and most importantly you can farm Ancient Tunnels, Mephisto and Andariel without any problems right away aside from the very rare cold immune (no cold immunes spawn in Ancient Tunnels except for in very rare cases, so maybe 1/100 runs you will se a cold immune). So best starter def. Blizz Sorc, you get teleport and Static Field through skilltree, can farm Hell Ancient Tunnels,Mephisto and Andariel etc without any problems to gather items and you can reach high MF easily since Blizz Sorc isn't super dependent on items for her damage. After that, once you have a few items, it looks like a lot of ppl choose different depending on what items they managed to get and/or what character they want to play as their 2nd, such as Hammerdin or converting to Lightning Sorc
I got you. I just did this. Give me a few to wake up and I'll log in and write down what I did for you. Edit: OK so I started with a Sorc. Nova and static to level until I swap to frozen orb or blizzard some point after normal. You can follow his sorc guided playthrough to level up. Once I killed hell Baal I put some perfect topaz that I had collected while leveling into a shopped 2 open socket helmet and I had some rare boots with 21 MF and some gloves with like 16 MF. I put on rings with MF as well. Don't make all your gear just MF gear because then it will take too long to kill things and defeats the purpose of magic finding. You basically want to kill things that can drop the items you are looking for as fast as possible as many times as it takes. I took my frozen orb sorc and famed nightmare bugged Andy for a bit, nightmare mephisto with him bugged across the channel so he can't damage me (look it up if you dont understand what I mean). After I ran a ton of nightmare mephisto I had gotten skin of the viper magi chest, I was using a spirit sword and either ancients pledge shield or mozers with perfect diamonds for extra resistances. Still had my rare boots and my rings were nagels. My belt was nothing special anything that I could find that had some resists and some FHR basically. Necklace was whatever I could find. Possibly had MF or it was just life and resist or mana and resist. Nothing crazy. Before getting viper magi I was using stealth runeword. Gloves were just whatever I could find that was better than what I had. The important thing is having those FCR breakpoints met so you can teleport to the bosses faster. I farmed nightmare meph a ton until I decided to farm hell meph. I farmed hell meph until I was able to get a shako, goldwrap, magefist. Still have more farming to do to get war travs. I made a spirit shield to go with my spirit sword that allows for faster boss killing. I run LK for runes as well as nightmare and hell cows. Still working on enigma and other high runewords. So there's your guide. You make a list of the gear you want, then find out where it can drop most likely, and farm for it as fast as you can. Google diablo 2 drop calculator and go to the 1st result if you want to find out what can drop items you are looking for. Hope this helps. Its not very detailed but there isn't much to starting MFing. You just kinda toss some MF pieces on and go kill stuff. If you have any specific questions please feel free to reply to this and I will do my best to answer you. Edit again: forgot to mention, Mephisto dropped Blade of Ali Baba, I use that and Milabrega's shield which I also got from Mephisto as my weapon swap for when I kill the bosses. Basically just farm Nightmare and Hell Mephisto a ton for almost all the gear you need. Then once you get that gear, move on to rune farming and the level 85 areas. My sorc still doesn't have the high runewords and I have 490% Magic Find. True this list has infinity and enigma in which you probably got a ton of items youre searching for I think in budget build you can go for Blizz, Hammer, Orb, Wind Druid
I just can't play Necro. I dont know what it is about the character, I try but always just give up because I'm not enjoying it. I have played all the other characters and enjoyed them a ton. Mainly Sorc. Recently discovered that I enjoy Javazon. Paladin is always fun. Barb is a silly character. Druid is fun even if playing a spec that isn't ideal. Assassin is my 2nd lowest probably. She's a strange class. Wish they had made it so Assassins used daggers as well as fist weapons if they wanted to more like rogues in warcraft.

It was rough but those memories i remember my whole life. I suggest playing it yourself first once then take guide. If you watch only for entertainment and not planning on playing or you played other diablo games thats ok then.

@@JAS82 Traps basically count as a unique monster spawned in the map. Since maps can only have a finite number of unique monsters it reduces the amount of them you will see.
So if you are looking for your first magic finding character, your best bets are: Meteorb/Fireballorb sorceress, Blizzard Sorceress, Hammerdin and Wind druid. Other characters are a lot gear dependent, so they actually need another MF character to find them some items and runes already. But you can always benefit from certain specialist characters to find certain gear. For example, javazon before infinity is still very good at finding base items in cows. Best character to find runes is the lighting sorceress. A barbarian with item find is very important for parties. The cheapest character for ubers is the Smiter. I suggest starting with a fire ball and frozen orb sorc, to then respec into a blizzard sorc and then decide which character to build for very efficient magic finding depending on the items/runes you find from the blizzard sorc. One of your best moves would be to find a Gul dagger earlier in the game and then find the tal rasha set for a decent and fast magic finder sorc.
@@Sesaphim Maybe, but for the first playthrough, I dont think anyone else ever comes close to Sorceres. She gets teleport and just finishes the game instantly from there.
@@Iggybart05 I think Wind druids should be the best starters for Hardcore MF, but for normal they are just slow. My first character in MF was also a wind druid, because he is not really much item dependent and is also quite safe. But Tornado is a real bitch to use.
I believe that most of the top tier builds almost require “Infinity” which is an insanely expensive item that will probably never have. Would you do a “realistic” budget tier list?
My shot would be hammerdin cause it's strong with junk gear and meteorb sorc, dual damage source, has teleport built in and can afford to wear crapload of MF gear
Budget is just perfect topaz in gear, any +MF gear you find or shop for and a character who can kill bosses quickly enough to farm gear. I suggest starting with a cold sorc.
@@P7_Drowsy Cold Sorc with LR charges. Might have to get rushed through hell first and then choose the areas with no cold immunes. Or you can Farm NM meph until you get some decent stuff to trade
Its worth mentioning that rune drops are not effected by magic find at all. X players increases the amount of items any single mob can drop, and that increases the chance of runes dropping. IMO, the best way to get rich with minimum investment in gear is to build a lightning fury zon and farm hell cows in full games. You can just focus on damage and nothing else, you dont even need to worry about resistances.
Love these guides! Would also be great if you had some distinction between magic find builds that are easy to make and those who are harder to find. Or is it just as easy on any class/spec?
llamas knowledge is S tier, his youtube videos D tier (just clipped from his stream), It's too bad they aren't edited and done properly. It's like having a beautiful library where none of the books are where they are supposed to be.
I think summon necro is a bit underrated. They can run with tons of +mf and with Beast, Enigma they can run just about any area (including ubers) about the same speed as hammerdin or a little slower but safer. Without high end gear they're terrible, but probably still better than light sorc.
Her traps count as some kind of creature entity, from a programmatic standpoint. So it jacks with the map foe placement for unique bosses or creatures somehow, resulting in significantly worse drops. If I am understanding right.
To be fair I agree with everything in this video. Wouldn't change and tiers. Wouldn't mind a tier list of fun to play builds, something maybe older players can return to after the bread and butter stuff and still enjoy another playthrough
Wow I didn't know about that trap bug. I have recently started playing and noticed that i got less champs/bosses in the pits for some reason, but I figured it was just a bad map roll. Now it all makes sense
Hello in Patch 2.4 fellow D2R player. Fohdin is actually S tier now! Whirlwind is not bugged anymore, Fire druid got buffed and Berserk has a 75 percent chance of finding items so is in GOD tier now! Enjoy
summon necro is at least A tier. It's really not that slow to start off, you just do a pindle run and summon the zombies outside first, and bam your army is built, and he can solo any area in the game, including ubers. On players 1-4, it's easily S tier, your corpse explosion can kind of lose effectiveness for some reason past that, but I'm excited to get an infinity and see how that improves it.
Trapper is d key specialist. Cloak also use dragon flight to hop past monsters. Worthy skill IMO. Tough part about most hero’s is making it through the game solo. Hammers trap sin and barb are best starters for that. Build a sorc to crush nightmare and hell Andy keys meph. But I would go with zerk barb or hammers first just to get your own forges
How about tier list of rune words for normal/nightmare/hell/endgame. A list for each character + act 2 merc of course. Maybe only ten rune words per level. Each character would be it's own video
@MrLlamaSC kind of agree of all tier list. Only thing i dont is summon necro. He can MF well in my opinion. Minions/merc get 1 coprse than its CE CE CE also can farm all areas. Great video and whole series of tier list :)
Would be nice to see an updated ladder reset guide with the every classes (cheap gear/ skill allocation, etc.). Mainly focus on solo player since you can easily do whatever build in a 8 player ladder reset. Love the guided playthrough so far but it's about 15 hours of video to check normal/nm/hell.
Yeah would love a new tier list. Concerning the big tier lists like builds makes sense to bring an update every year or so. Would love to watch the updated version
Can you do a list, assuming no Enigma? Enigma takes so long to obtain, and usually you've accomplished so much already buy the time you get it, I'd love to see a list of best MF builds assuming no Enigma! And maybe it would just be the same, and you'd say wear a Tele staff/circlet/neck.
I'm going to be looking out for IK peices starting in NM on my Concentrate WW Barbarian as well as Tal-Rasha's for a future Sorceress and I know the body armors are hard to find but 5/6 of Ik should be findable in NM as well as 4/5 of Tals and a good Smoke or something else found or made ,doing it this way should get me early to mid Hell pretty quick to really start finding the good stuff I find shooting for the Barbarian and Sorceress and even Necromancer sets should eventually become obtainable between trade and finding yourself. I believe all 3 are end game viable and a good goal to aim for someone starting out
Hmm I'm 400 runs into a 1000 AT run with my blizz sorc @ 490mf players 5.. takes about 1:20. I also got a pit zerker and a poison necro without dweb.. I am hunting for that damn griffons eye and dweb.. which of those 3 should I use to get those quickest and maybe pull out some other nice stuff.. I'm leaning towards poison necro in pits... But I watch videos of people finding gg stuff in AT so I committed 1000 runs... So far.... Nothing great.
putting a poison nec before any mf sorc is highly questionable imo (even putting it in s tier overall since light and blizz sorc can kill everything as well).
@@bully9920 even if there's cold immunes, i'm sure the sorc's merc would finish off any stragglers faster than the poison nec would in the same situation. especially with higher player counts (and that's when you want to mf in the first place).
@@sixmillionsilencedaccounts3517 chaos only when using corpse explosion and then it's probably faster to just telestomp an enemy with your summons for the first corpse.
The problem with tier lists in Diablo 2 is that there are 2 HUUUUGE factors that change the lists entirely. If you are playing hardcore, and if you are playing with self found gear. A lot of people play D2 SC and gear up their characters early in the ladder, which is a pretty lame way to play D2 in my opinion, but I'm not losing sleep over it. If you are playing a true ladder reset and starting with 0 wealth and just self finding or in game trading for everything (much cooler), this list changes dramatically with cold sorc and hammerdin shooting up to the top of S tier. Poison nova not so much because did you find a Dweb early ladder? No of course you didnt. Finding a Dweb day 2 of the ladder requires the collective effort of half the player base, which is exactly what D2jsp facilitates. If you are playing self found HC the list changes even more and summon nec goes to the top. Summon nec can be farming cows on players 1 with 200-400 MF on day 2 if you play solo. Can you say that about any other character?
Does the soul-creator thing change the list in your opinion? At least for budget SSF its a huge thing imo as you dont rely on Shako and enigma as much to farm your stuff.
Disagree completely on Summon necro. He's always been one of my main MF builds. He can run absolutely anywhere in the game including Ubers, and he clears everything pretty quickly with Corpse Explosion, maybe not as quickly as a light sorc or hammerdin, but still pretty quick. I mean, yes, it does take up some time (less than a minute really) in the beginning of each game to summon an army, but I just run Pit, Chaos, Worldstone/Baal, Trav, and Nihalathak all in one game before making a new one. He far outperforms my Blizz sorc in terms of finding high end items. Like the Poison Nova Necro, Corpse Explosion tends to kill everything, not just unique/champion monsters, so he's also ideal for rune hunting. S tier all the way in my book. A Tier at the very least if we take my own bias into account.

It's for clearing areas, not act bosses, but you can optimize merc for boss killing -> give him high crushing blow setup with high attack speed = Infinity in (Giant) Thresher, Treachery and GFace+IAS jewel.
Eh if starting out fresh on ladder (no ladder during initial launch but if you are new you got nothing anyway) I would put Blizzard / F Orb / Meteor Orb pretty much in their own tier? Why ? Cos teleport. You are not seeing Enigma anytime soon. And relying on a teleport stick on switch is costly in gold and dependent on luck too. Cos sometimes you might finish all the damn charges before even reaching the destination. Blizzard is an easy Meph killer, while Meteor / fireball Orb can easily farm out Hell Andy too. All for very little investment.
All S tier except Javazon and Blizz sorc are at least Enigma level expensive, so those would be good starting MF characters. Lightning soso doesn’t need enigma but have fun finding 9 skillers 😅
poisonnecro, I must have been doing something wrong if its in S tier and I consider it way under fishymancer. Just so we are clear you rank fishymancer that low when you assume enigma, beast, infinity merc and max out corspe explosion... because that CE clears are really fast. Infinity with crushing blow and stacked summons also takes down bosses down fast
MrLlama you should add liks to your guide videos in description or somewhere in here. Or maybe make new guides similar to your Blizz sorc MF guide, which i feel was the most in depth and with multiple gear choices etc. I think that better thumbnails for videos (i mean actual graphic that you could only change titles on) could be beneficial for overall views whan someone new searches for a video guide.
Fully geared anything can destroy chaos, and a fishy can only destroy it on Players 1. All necs that aren't poison start to slow down with more players. A perfect fishymancer, if you hand picked every single item in every slot in your entire inventory, is still going to be slow as balls on P8. This is due to the fact that corpse explosion (the entire point of a fishy guy) doesn't really work past about P3. So you are basically going through P8 just waiting for your summons to kill stuff, which is a pretty sad use of the beast runeword and enigma and everything else that would go on a pro fishy build.
MrLama. Would you ever consider doing an actual budget build. For some one like me, and others with only up to the first have of Runes owned and only having completed nightmare and going into hell. Alot of the - “budget how to hell videos” use insane gear that only few people have 😊
Yeah, i'd love a bit more info around how much magic find each char gets (and what u recommend). with ladder i've been running a 420MF 105fcr cold sorc (i love meph and andy runs), swapped it around to try 500+MF @ 63FCR breakpoint and found it way better drops. But this video doesn't tell me the trade-offs for hammerdin - who can clear more than me, but is the mf the same?
I feel like these builds hes showing he doesn’t go into full detail to let noobs realize that to get to level 99 is not something you’re going to do over the weekend grinding with your friends, this is like hundreds and hundreds of hours if you’re just picking up this game t’s not a game you’re going to put on hard mode and beet over the weekend like you would any other casual game. this is a massive amount of grinding and I feel like he leaves out these important details for newbies these characters you see he has a level 99 he’s been doing this for 5+ years. Unless you have friends who like this game like you do you’re out of luck because this game is also built around more people you have an a game the more experience you get a better item so unless you have four or five friends were just as eager as grinding as you read this game it’s going to go slow for you you can play online with random people but they’re a bunch of douche bags as soon as they see the first magic item they steal it and leave the server and then you’re left with nothing.
Most of this list is correct but trapsin is being extremely underrated it's A tier. I doubt Lama has played it to 99 though so I understand why he slept on it.

That if you play a class alot or for example to 99 (again doesn't have to be that much) you min max the build and more importantly the playstyle to be super efficient. Then you can time your runs to compare them to other classes or builds you've done the same with. You find out the most efficient things to farm and how to shave off seconds per run. Comparing the most efficient times to clear on avrg per build you can then say which is the best for each zone to magicfind.

Enchant is pretty bonkers if you equip a Kuko Shakaku/Demon Machine and Razortail. It plays like a Fireball Sorc if Fireballs could pierce and hit the same target multiple times in a pack.

If you're doing something like cows where things are tightly packed you might can squeeze out a bit more damage since it'll pierce 3 times, hitting 4 targets, and exploding on each. But without 100% pierce it's objectively worse. People don't really MF with Fire anyways, and I think it's way more fun than Fireball. Sort of like what the Amazon's Exploding Arrow SHOULD have been, haha. Fun fact, if you Enchant an Exoding Arrow Amazon the damage from Enchant is also added to that so it actually becomes very good.
Drops change with odd numbered player size. So going from 4 to 5 will give you more drops but going from 5 to 6 does not change drops, it just makes monsters stronger. So if you want to magic find there's no need to go for players 8 since you get the same drops in players 7, unless of course you want more exp.
I think the consistent problem I see in your videos is with D2R coming out soon you will have a ton of new player who never touched the game before, maybe slow down a lil and explain things a little bit more in detail since the game has so much.
Built hydra sorc and she smokes all acts except chaos without issue most expensive thing on her is a flicking flame helm other than that all budget gear with some facets
Now we need the same list, but you have to keep in mind you are starting up and your character is naked. It's important because it WILL change the list completely. Ungeared, I feel the SORC is so much better than every other type of characters. You can sacrifice a lot of slots early on for MF items (which will most likely only have one magic bonus on them, at least before level 30) and get that early MF going faster. Try to do the same thing with a Pally, Barb, or Zon? Your damage will be pitiful and it's going to take too long. So I would say Sorc is S-Tier early on, then use what she finds to move to other mentioned list by MrLlamaSC. Hammerdin will be godly for cow level runs in D2R tho... Just lots of density and no obstacles.

Fishy mancer is S tier in my opinion. A at the lowest. No such thing as mana, easily stack huge mf, nothing gets past the skellies, and exploding two or three corpses instantly clears the whole room on p3 difficulty.
I don't understand Singer Barb appearing in this list or the previous SSF tierlist. I've played Singer Barb w dual hoto and all the stuff and he does less damage than the merc, and phys immunes are crippling. I'd wager that a regular blizz sorc is like 50x better than a Singer Barb. What am I missing? How can a Summon Necro possibly be lower tier than a Warcry Barb?
I think Lightning Sorc is objectively better than Poison Necro, with Necro you need DeathWeb for a good clear speed, so you already behind by 50% magic at minimum. Also sorc is faster in most areas.

You basically want to kill things that can drop the items you are looking for as fast as possible as many times as it takes. I took my frozen orb sorc and famed nightmare bugged Andy for a bit, nightmare mephisto with him bugged across the channel so he can't damage me (look it up if you dont understand what I mean). After I ran a ton of nightmare mephisto I had gotten skin of the viper magi chest, I was using a spirit sword and either ancients pledge shield or mozers with perfect diamonds for extra resistances. Still had my rare boots and my rings were nagels. My belt was nothing special anything that I could find that had some resists and some FHR basically. Necklace was whatever I could find. Possibly had MF or it was just life and resist or mana and resist. Nothing crazy. Before getting viper magi I was using stealth runeword. Gloves were just whatever I could find that was better than what I had. The important thing is having those FCR breakpoints met so you can teleport to the bosses faster. I farmed nightmare meph a ton until I decided to farm hell meph. I farmed hell meph until I was able to get a shako, goldwrap, magefist. Still have more farming to do to get war travs. I made a spirit shield to go with my spirit sword that allows for faster boss killing. I run LK for runes as well as nightmare and hell cows. Still working on enigma and other high runewords. So there's your guide. You make a list of the gear you want, then find out where it can drop most likely, and farm for it as fast as you can. Google diablo 2 drop calculator and go to the 1st result if you want to find out what can drop items you are looking for. Hope this helps. Its not very detailed but there isn't much to starting MFing. You just kinda toss some MF pieces on and go kill stuff. If you have any specific questions please feel free to reply to this and I will do my best to answer you.
Edit again: forgot to mention, Mephisto dropped Blade of Ali Baba, I use that and Milabrega's shield which I also got from Mephisto as my weapon swap for when I kill the bosses. Basically just farm Nightmare and Hell Mephisto a ton for almost all the gear you need. Then once you get that gear, move on to rune farming and the level 85 areas. My sorc still doesn't have the high runewords and I have 490% Magic Find. I just can't play Necro. I dont know what it is about the character, I try but always just give up because I'm not enjoying it. I have played all the other characters and enjoyed them a ton. Mainly Sorc. Recently discovered that I enjoy Javazon. Paladin is always fun. Barb is a silly character. Druid is fun even if playing a spec that isn't ideal. Assassin is my 2nd lowest probably. She's a strange class. Wish they had made it so Assassins used daggers as well as fist weapons if they wanted to more like rogues in warcraft.

It was rough but those memories i remember my whole life. I suggest playing it yourself first once then take guide. @@Presentiment0 After the first tile? I assume you mean the 1st map tile. If so, are you talking about the 1st tile you place a trap in?
@@JAS82 Traps basically count as a unique monster spawned in the map. Since maps can only have a finite number of unique monsters it reduces the amount of them you will see.
Hopefully they fix but then she is still decent for chaos runs / baal, right?
So if you are looking for your first magic finding character, your best bets are: Meteorb/Fireballorb sorceress, Blizzard Sorceress, Hammerdin and Wind druid. Other characters are a lot gear dependent, so they actually need another MF character to find them some items and runes already.
But you can always benefit from certain specialist characters to find certain gear. For example, javazon before infinity is still very good at finding base items in cows. Best character to find runes is the lighting sorceress. A barbarian with item find is very important for parties. The cheapest character for ubers is the Smiter.
I suggest starting with a fire ball and frozen orb sorc, to then respec into a blizzard sorc and then decide which character to build for very efficient magic finding depending on the items/runes you find from the blizzard sorc. One of your best moves would be to find a Gul dagger earlier in the game and then find the tal rasha set for a decent and fast magic finder sorc.
my new favorite MF character is a wind druid, i never played one in D2 and i'm trying one now and he's fucking BRUTAL for aoe.
Trapsin is also a great starter mfer but it takes more skill and practice to be efficient
@@Sesaphim Maybe, but for the first playthrough, I dont think anyone else ever comes close to Sorceres. She gets teleport and just finishes the game instantly from there.
@@Iggybart05 I think Wind druids should be the best starters for Hardcore MF, but for normal they are just slow. My first character in MF was also a wind druid, because he is not really much item dependent and is also quite safe. But Tornado is a real bitch to use.
I believe that most of the top tier builds almost require “Infinity” which is an insanely expensive item that will probably never have. Would you do a “realistic” budget tier list?
My shot would be hammerdin cause it's strong with junk gear and meteorb sorc, dual damage source, has teleport built in and can afford to wear crapload of MF gear
Budget is just perfect topaz in gear, any +MF gear you find or shop for and a character who can kill bosses quickly enough to farm gear. I suggest starting with a cold sorc.
@@P7_Drowsy Cold Sorc with LR charges. Might have to get rushed through hell first and then choose the areas with no cold immunes. Or you can Farm NM meph until you get some decent stuff to trade
My ssf playthrough tier list is for that exactly!
Its worth mentioning that rune drops are not effected by magic find at all. X players increases the amount of items any single mob can drop, and that increases the chance of runes dropping. IMO, the best way to get rich with minimum investment in gear is to build a lightning fury zon and farm hell cows in full games. You can just focus on damage and nothing else, you dont even need to worry about resistances.
Love these guides! Would also be great if you had some distinction between magic find builds that are easy to make and those who are harder to find. Or is it just as easy on any class/spec?
Bonemancer is at LEAST A tier! Clears entire screens with Amp + Corpse Explosion , and does it quickly due to bone spear!

I think summon necro is a bit underrated. They can run with tons of +mf and with Beast, Enigma they can run just about any area (including ubers) about the same speed as hammerdin or a little slower but safer. Without high end gear they're terrible, but probably still better than light sorc.

Her traps count as some kind of creature entity, from a programmatic standpoint. So it jacks with the map foe placement for unique bosses or creatures somehow, resulting in significantly worse drops. If I am understanding right.

Hello in Patch 2.4 fellow D2R player. Fohdin is actually S tier now! Whirlwind is not bugged anymore, Fire druid got buffed and Berserk has a 75 percent chance of finding items so is in GOD tier now! Enjoy

summon necro is at least A tier. It's really not that slow to start off, you just do a pindle run and summon the zombies outside first, and bam your army is built, and he can solo any area in the game, including ubers. On players 1-4, it's easily S tier, your corpse explosion can kind of lose effectiveness for some reason past that, but I'm excited to get an infinity and see how that improves it.

Never! With comparable good gear (Infinity, enigma) she is perfect for mf
Trapper is d key specialist. Cloak also use dragon flight to hop past monsters. Worthy skill IMO. Tough part about most hero’s is making it through the game solo. Hammers trap sin and barb are best starters for that. Build a sorc to crush nightmare and hell Andy keys meph. But I would go with zerk barb or hammers first just to get your own forges
How about tier list of rune words for normal/nightmare/hell/endgame. A list for each character + act 2 merc of course. Maybe only ten rune words per level. Each character would be it's own video

@MrLlamaSC kind of agree of all tier list. Only thing i dont is summon necro. He can MF well in my opinion. Minions/merc get 1 coprse than its CE CE CE also can farm all areas. Great video and whole series of tier list :)

Would be nice to see an updated ladder reset guide with the every classes (cheap gear/ skill allocation, etc.). Mainly focus on solo player since you can easily do whatever build in a 8 player ladder reset. Love the guided playthrough so far but it's about 15 hours of video to check normal/nm/hell.

I'm going to be looking out for IK peices starting in NM on my Concentrate WW Barbarian as well as Tal-Rasha's for a future Sorceress and I know the body armors are hard to find but 5/6 of Ik should be findable in NM as well as 4/5 of Tals and a good Smoke or something else found or made ,doing it this way should get me early to mid Hell pretty quick to really start finding the good stuff
I find shooting for the Barbarian and Sorceress and even Necromancer sets should eventually become obtainable between trade and finding yourself. I believe all 3 are end game viable and a good goal to aim for someone starting out
Hmm I'm 400 runs into a 1000 AT run with my blizz sorc @ 490mf players 5.. takes about 1:20. I also got a pit zerker and a poison necro without dweb.. I am hunting for that damn griffons eye and dweb.. which of those 3 should I use to get those quickest and maybe pull out some other nice stuff.. I'm leaning towards poison necro in pits... But I watch videos of people finding gg stuff in AT so I committed 1000 runs... So far.... Nothing great.

This list may be true for softcore, but in HC some of these builds are impossible.
Players willing to play HC should be able to filter out builds that aren't suitable, or learn it the hard way.

putting a poison nec before any mf sorc is highly questionable imo (even putting it in s tier overall since light and blizz sorc can kill everything as well).
True he struggles on bosses even mephisto when blizz sorc can kill him in seconds
@@bully9920 even if there's cold immunes, i'm sure the sorc's merc would finish off any stragglers faster than the poison nec would in the same situation. especially with higher player counts (and that's when you want to mf in the first place).
Agree, Sorc is more effective overall. Necro is only better in Pit players8, maybe chaos pl8. But not good against bosses.

The problem with tier lists in Diablo 2 is that there are 2 HUUUUGE factors that change the lists entirely. If you are playing hardcore, and if you are playing with self found gear. A lot of people play D2 SC and gear up their characters early in the ladder, which is a pretty lame way to play D2 in my opinion, but I'm not losing sleep over it. If you are playing a true ladder reset and starting with 0 wealth and just self finding or in game trading for everything (much cooler), this list changes dramatically with cold sorc and hammerdin shooting up to the top of S tier. Poison nova not so much because did you find a Dweb early ladder? No of course you didnt. Finding a Dweb day 2 of the ladder requires the collective effort of half the player base, which is exactly what D2jsp facilitates. If you are playing self found HC the list changes even more and summon nec goes to the top. Summon nec can be farming cows on players 1 with 200-400 MF on day 2 if you play solo. Can you say that about any other character?
Does the soul-creator thing change the list in your opinion? At least for budget SSF its a huge thing imo as you dont rely on Shako and enigma as much to farm your stuff.

With patience of players… be it a little older or just having time and liking the play of a certain build, this list changes up quite a bit.
Disagree completely on Summon necro. He's always been one of my main MF builds. He can run absolutely anywhere in the game including Ubers, and he clears everything pretty quickly with Corpse Explosion, maybe not as quickly as a light sorc or hammerdin, but still pretty quick. I mean, yes, it does take up some time (less than a minute really) in the beginning of each game to summon an army, but I just run Pit, Chaos, Worldstone/Baal, Trav, and Nihalathak all in one game before making a new one. He far outperforms my Blizz sorc in terms of finding high end items. Like the Poison Nova Necro, Corpse Explosion tends to kill everything, not just unique/champion monsters, so he's also ideal for rune hunting. S tier all the way in my book. A Tier at the very least if we take my own bias into account.

It's for clearing areas, not act bosses, but you can optimize merc for boss killing -> give him high crushing blow setup with high attack speed = Infinity in (Giant) Thresher, Treachery and GFace+IAS jewel.
Eh if starting out fresh on ladder (no ladder during initial launch but if you are new you got nothing anyway) I would put Blizzard / F Orb / Meteor Orb pretty much in their own tier?

You are not seeing Enigma anytime soon. And relying on a teleport stick on switch is costly in gold and dependent on luck too. Cos sometimes you might finish all the damn charges before even reaching the destination. Blizzard is an easy Meph killer, while Meteor / fireball Orb can easily farm out Hell Andy too. All for very little investment.
All S tier except Javazon and Blizz sorc are at least Enigma level expensive, so those would be good starting MF characters. Lightning soso doesn’t need enigma but have fun finding 9 skillers 😅

Just so we are clear you rank fishymancer that low when you assume enigma, beast, infinity merc and max out corspe explosion... because that CE clears are really fast. Infinity with crushing blow and stacked summons also takes down bosses down fast
MrLlama you should add liks to your guide videos in description or somewhere in here. Or maybe make new guides similar to your Blizz sorc MF guide, which i feel was the most in depth and with multiple gear choices etc.
I think that better thumbnails for videos (i mean actual graphic that you could only change titles on) could be beneficial for overall views whan someone new searches for a video guide.

Fully geared fishymancer seems underrepresented to me in this tier list. He can destroy Chaos.
Fully geared anything can destroy chaos, and a fishy can only destroy it on Players 1. All necs that aren't poison start to slow down with more players. A perfect fishymancer, if you hand picked every single item in every slot in your entire inventory, is still going to be slow as balls on P8. This is due to the fact that corpse explosion (the entire point of a fishy guy) doesn't really work past about P3. So you are basically going through P8 just waiting for your summons to kill stuff, which is a pretty sad use of the beast runeword and enigma and everything else that would go on a pro fishy build.
Can you do a detailed guide about immunities in hell? % between all types, what are worst damage element to have in hell, most immunes, etc
I dunno...the trap bug is annoying for sure, but trappers are so strong, fast, easy to build and fun that I still mf with them all the time.
I'd personally put the Enchant Sorceress higher, if only because she grabs Passion for Zeal and does about what the Zealer does, and buffs her merc
I like Trapsin you also don’t need keys and people should be clicking objects in terror zones. Never know what could drop.

Yeah, i'd love a bit more info around how much magic find each char gets (and what u recommend). with ladder i've been running a 420MF 105fcr cold sorc (i love meph and andy runs), swapped it around to try 500+MF @ 63FCR breakpoint and found it way better drops. But this video doesn't tell me the trade-offs for hammerdin - who can clear more than me, but is the mf the same?
I think the smiter deserves more love, can be a versatile cross build as well quick boss killer. Not gonna lie big packs are slower gameplay though.
Summon CE Necro is an S tier build. This is of course considering you have Enigma and a good merc to deal with single target.
I feel like these builds hes showing he doesn’t go into full detail to let noobs realize that to get to level 99 is not something you’re going to do over the weekend grinding with your friends, this is like hundreds and hundreds of hours if you’re just picking up this game t’s not a game you’re going to put on hard mode and beet over the weekend like you would any other casual game. this is a massive amount of grinding and I feel like he leaves out these important details for newbies these characters you see he has a level 99 he’s been doing this for 5+ years. Unless you have friends who like this game like you do you’re out of luck because this game is also built around more people you have an a game the more experience you get a better item so unless you have four or five friends were just as eager as grinding as you read this game it’s going to go slow for you you can play online with random people but they’re a bunch of douche bags as soon as they see the first magic item they steal it and leave the server and then you’re left with nothing.
Most of this list is correct but trapsin is being extremely underrated it's A tier. I doubt Lama has played it to 99 though so I understand why he slept on it.

That if you play a class alot or for example to 99 (again doesn't have to be that much) you min max the build and more importantly the playstyle to be super efficient. Then you can time your runs to compare them to other classes or builds you've done the same with. You find out the most efficient things to farm and how to shave off seconds per run. Comparing the most efficient times to clear on avrg per build you can then say which is the best for each zone to magicfind.

Enchant is pretty bonkers if you equip a Kuko Shakaku/Demon Machine and Razortail. It plays like a Fireball Sorc if Fireballs could pierce and hit the same target multiple times in a pack.
Sadly, the numbers are not quite the same though.
@@alphapolimeris Yes and no. If you're doing something like cows where things are tightly packed you might can squeeze out a bit more damage since it'll pierce 3 times, hitting 4 targets, and exploding on each. But without 100% pierce it's objectively worse.
People don't really MF with Fire anyways, and I think it's way more fun than Fireball. Sort of like what the Amazon's Exploding Arrow SHOULD have been, haha.
Fun fact, if you Enchant an Exoding Arrow Amazon the damage from Enchant is also added to that so it actually becomes very good.

Where’s corpse explosion?
I keep seeing these mentions and recommendations for odd-numbered playersize? Why is that? Why is 5 better than 6, 7 better than 8 etc.?
As far as I know from Llamas streams/videos: odd numbers increase drop, even numbers increase exp. So 7 is easier than 8 but drops are as good
Drops change with odd numbered player size. So going from 4 to 5 will give you more drops but going from 5 to 6 does not change drops, it just makes monsters stronger. So if you want to magic find there's no need to go for players 8 since you get the same drops in players 7, unless of course you want more exp.
I think the consistent problem I see in your videos is with D2R coming out soon you will have a ton of new player who never touched the game before, maybe slow down a lil and explain things a little bit more in detail since the game has so much.
Built hydra sorc and she smokes all acts except chaos without issue most expensive thing on her is a flicking flame helm other than that all budget gear with some facets
Now we need the same list, but you have to keep in mind you are starting up and your character is naked.
It's important because it WILL change the list completely. Ungeared, I feel the SORC is so much better than every other type of characters.
You can sacrifice a lot of slots early on for MF items (which will most likely only have one magic bonus on them, at least before level 30) and get that early MF going faster.
Try to do the same thing with a Pally, Barb, or Zon? Your damage will be pitiful and it's going to take too long.
So I would say Sorc is S-Tier early on, then use what she finds to move to other mentioned list by MrLlamaSC.
Hammerdin will be godly for cow level runs in D2R tho... Just lots of density and no obstacles.

Fishy mancer is S tier in my opinion. A at the lowest. No such thing as mana, easily stack huge mf, nothing gets past the skellies, and exploding two or three corpses instantly clears the whole room on p3 difficulty.

Does “Enchantress” include Zeal/Dream Sorc and Bear Sorc builds?

Blizzard sorceress is always a good base to start your characters on. Access to teleport, doesn't need a lot of gear to kill stuff. Farm away.

I don't understand Singer Barb appearing in this list or the previous SSF tierlist. I've played Singer Barb w dual hoto and all the stuff and he does less damage than the merc, and phys immunes are crippling. I'd wager that a regular blizz sorc is like 50x better than a Singer Barb. What am I missing? How can a Summon Necro possibly be lower tier than a Warcry Barb?
I think Lightning Sorc is objectively better than Poison Necro, with Necro you need DeathWeb for a good clear speed, so you already behind by 50% magic at minimum. Also sorc is faster in most areas.
I'm guessing this is all with Enigma, otherwise I don't see how anyone can compete with Sorceresses
