Calgary's pick is top 10 protected. Hence Florida's 1st round pick is Montreals property. Got it. 👍

Calgary’s 1st, Harris, Mesar along the lines for Laine should get it done?

I think a lot of the options are falling out or turning out to never have been in play to begin with.
Kent Johnson signing such a team friendly extension and then saying he did it because he wanted the security of staying with the Blue Jackets, makes me question pretty much every other rumor about guys wanting out of there (Jiricek, Sillinger, Marchenko, etc.)
The only confirmed one is Laine, and now there's stuff that Laine may start the season with Columbus and see how things go before picking back up on the trade front or dropping the request.
I've also seen things that if Laine is traded, it might be back to Winnipeg for McGroarty. That each team is a favored destination of both players.
And all the Necas stuff about him wanting out but he wont negotiate with any team that's actually tried to trade for his rights makes him problematic at the least and a "Do Not Pick Up" guy at worst.
I'm not one to think Verbeek is against trading Zegras, but the Ducks invested a lot material to Zegras in the rebrand advertising, so maybe he's off the table too.
This honestly sounds like it'll be a trade that happens next summer for the Habs, and probably wont involve any of the current names being put out there.

We are NOT in the rebuild or draft pick accumulation phase anymore. Our picks should be used to improve our team with better talent. That’s my perspective on it

We are still in the rebuild what are you saying😂

I’m not sure if I agree or disagree, you guys have quite the prospect pool, Hutson, demidov, reinbacher, being what I would consider your big 3, you have a solid goalie prospect in Fowler, and 2 still young goalies that aren’t bad in primeau and Montembault, but are u still in the rebuild stage, yes I think u are, I agree, they don’t necessarily need to draft with there picks, they could go out and add talent by trade, but the guys there gonna go out and trade for would be younger guys, because…. There still rebuilding and need to add young talent to grow and perform with there talented young players, Suzuki, caufield, slaf, dach, newhook, Roy, guhle, idk like, here’s my thing, are u expecting to see a jump in there point totals for next season? I personally am not, maybe a slight increase but nothing major to take them out of like the bottom 7, there not going to be anywhere near the playoffs, to me that’s a team that’s still rebuilding, I get what ur saying, like they aren’t really far away, I think there close to being out of the rebuild stage, but if there likely still gonna get another top 5 pick next season, which is good, have to also keep in mind, you have a lot of prospects, the odds that all of them turn out are not that high, only maybe a select few will hit there potential, the rest will likely not be as good as expected, there’s no guarantee demidov is going to be a star, im not saying he won’t be I think he will, but there’s no guarantee, he was not playing in a top league, and if he’s as good as everyone says, why did he drop to 5, this wasn’t the mitchkov situation where there was fear he wouldn’t play, it’s clear demidov will be in North America likely after next year, why did Anaheim, I team that needed a forward, take someone sennecke, why did Columbus take lindstrom, so u can’t just assume all your picks are immediately going to be stars, also, let me add, im a massive habs fan, u won’t find a bigger fan then me, die hard, but I think we have to be realistic, we’re rebuilding, we’re not rebuilding, I think we are still a year away from being considered out of the rebuild and looking to start improving

Is the pick only Calgary pick if they finish 11 or better as top 10 protected. Calgary I don’t think will finish 11th or better as in complete rebuild. So we get Florida late round pick. I would then try to trade and move up if a deal can be made or if the right deal comes use it to trade for a top 6 player.

Why would a team trade a quality young top 6 forward for a pick as the main piece. It's not like Montreal can add to it another substantial asset. The extra defensemen that Montreal might unload are not at the level to convince a team to do this. The only scenario I can see is an underperforming forward. So basically another Dach or Newhook. They might as well wait for Demidov and round out the top 6 with a quality complementary player like Roy for example.

I say first find youngsters to play with Demidov. If not, then trade it away.

Whome ever we get, we have to trade Anderson for said package. There's no way we can let Anderson at his current contract play on the third and fourth lines. If we can't trade for a better pick or player, then we need to play Anderson on our top 6.

Play Anderson with Slav and Kirby dach let him get his Grove back nothing to loose that's a huge hard to play against line then have Armia Newhook and Roy as a line add a player to play with Suzuki and Caulfield and then build a huge hard to play against fast forth line and get coaching help to start teaching playoff hockey
