I am just amazed on how they block with their shins, and inadvertently kick shins throughout the fight, and never flinch, nor show any signs of pain of discomfort when they bang shins. Great display of Bushido.
this comment is 5 years late but oh well, this isn't a great display of Bushido, this is karate, Bushido is a samurai thing and karate was invented by commoners.
If any MMA fighter wants to learn how to check leg kicks, it's Kyokushin or Muay Thai. Take your pick. Nerves in your shins aren't really good for much anyway, might as well desensitize them so you can plant it upside a neck/jaw.
That's why no one wanted to train in kyokushin. Head punches will leave lasting trauma as such Oyama used to allow everything including groin kicks. But later he removed head punches because he disliked hand pillows more. Further, in a real fight everyone uses weapons. Unless it's beating a school bully where being a kyokushin tank will still be more rewarding.
I am not familiar with the rules of Kyokushin; how does one win a fight by virtue of winning the first round? And in what way did Kurasawa win the first round?
Kurosawa didn't "won" the first round, it was a draw, and that's why they did another round. In kyokushin the tournament fights are just one round, except that they call it a draw, the other ones are extentions. The winner was Matsui.
Not a problem; your English is fine. And not to quibble, but you can't award wins based on penalties that were not called. If that were the case, football matches worldwide could be recontested. And then there would be riots :)

Matsui punched Kurasawa`s face several times, and it`s illegal to punch to the face in kyokushin
-sorry for my english-
you're right, but it wasn't a clean, intentional blow, it was more of an accident
I❤it week
matsui is mafia
Karate that does not allow punches to the face cannot be the strongest on earth.

Kurosawa WON in the first round! japanese referees has alaways supported Matsui, same happened in Andy-Matsui
You are wrong! For people believing his comment i ask them to watch Andy and matsui fight too then you Will clearly realize he is a liar
Andy lost he was running around the whole fight
This will also be called a Japanese muai thai
What was this championship?
It was the final bout at the 17th Japanese Open Championship 1985.
Who won? Both are great fighters.. Osu!
Matsui
Cara bertarung Sokei Matsui lebih bagus
Kurosawa was better
