About the controversy: The CEO of their company (XGALX) is Simon Sakai, he is half Japanese and half korean and was born in the US, he is also their producer and goes by the name JAKOPS, which was made by mixing Japan and Korea. He is also a former kpop idol and wants XG to be a Global group that becomes the bridge between the 2 countries and he recently made a statement on his Instagram about this because he has seen all the xenophobic comments from Knetz who are making up lies and who have even tried to sabotage their live performances by posing as fans to get tickets and then not attending or staying silent during the performance.
Their love of 90s and 2000s hip hop and R&B comes through. And I love it. It takes me back to when music was really fun. They made me a fan at 50. 🤣🤣🤣 Nice reaction ✌🏾

Hello, I love XG, and I'm a BTS ARMY, I haven't liked another group this much since I found BTS. So I guess I'm ARMY/ALPHAZ. I can't wait to see how they grow artistically as a group. They are amazing. My BTS ARMY friend introduced me, and I've noticed some ARMY's liking them in our community. I personally think it's smart of XG to promote in South Korea. The reason that SIMON gave that they are promoting there, is that South Korea has perfected the IDOL training system. I don't know his true intentions because I don't know him, but I love the group, and they worked hard to get to where they are. I watched their documentary on their channel. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. They trained for 5 years before debuting.
i don't see what is the problems BoA got popular in japan bcuz of Avex(xg's parent company) which basically Saved SM at that time there were broked. now Avex is just doing same thing. and there doing it from the scratch... with no help from the big 3. koreans just hating bcuz there are Japanese.
Technically YG did lend their studios and idk SM might have also helped since if you look at the producers, choreographers, etc are all industry themselves, let’s big up the girls and not bring down the rest. We need to bring positivity and drown out the hate. also Yg has no relation beyond just helping with studio and locations

For me New Jeans broke through and brought the Y2K to the front and XG is adding on top of that, another group that went under the radar is TripleS - Generation and they have a comeback this feb 13? Le Serafim is also having a comeback with production from Nile Rogers, to me it seems like the new wave might be coming through and redefining K-pop and global pop as a whole. These are big bold words and statements I’m making, but I can see it picking up even more with the recent debuts from 8turn, Aimers, it seems like labels are noticing and slowly ramping up. Edit: Just wanted to say music is about expression whether to laugh, cry, to remember or to forget, it’s human expression and in order to innovate one has to be willing to break the mold, break social norms, and too many times we get caught up in the politics, whether so and so fits a mold, we forget to enjoy the very thing that makes us all human and that is expression of our selves.
