At my lindy class last night I was shown a third way of getting into it - a 6 step tuck turn where you step across then step back again. Trouble with that and the "J" move is your taking 6 steps moves and bolting extra bits on whereas the one on this vid feels more natural. Tandem charleston is the holy grail for me though, you have to be very good to master it!
Great video, very helpful, but gosh I wish you'd re-record it. The pack of dogs being slaughtered in the next yard and the prison break/four-alarm fire happening across the street do add to the drama, but make it very hard to concentrate. After a few minutes of working with this video I feel like I'm developing PTSD.
Getting into tandem charleston is really difficult! Doing it this way looks easier than the way I was shown though in 6 step!
