  • Students, are you frustrated by the amount of readings your teachers assign? Is there just not enough time to get through the textbooks, articles, and lecture slides?
Teachers, are you frustrated that your students don't complete the readings and come underprepared for class?

This is so helpful! I’m in X-ray school, and the amount of reading we have to do is insane. We don’t get study guides; instead, we’re expected to know the material, which gives me anxiety. Being in X-ray school is a different type of studying from what I’m used to. A lot of our reading involves memorization and visualization, which is a struggle for me. When I’m expected to know EVERYTHING, I go into shutdown mode because it’s too much, so I just carelessly skim and call it a day. This is my first semester, and it’s still pretty early to turn things around. I appreciate your video!

Comment! It has taken me 3 whole days to write notes for one chapter and I am 7 chpts behind for one class. This is incredibly helpful, and I wish to help woman owned businesses.

Not to presume gender. Which I did.

Ha! You presumed correctly. My pronouns are she/her. I’m so happy that you commented as a way to help the business. But also, it sounds kind of miserable to spend three whole days writing notes for one chapter!! I hope you’re getting better at summarizing? How is it going?

Subscribing because you just made me excited about all the reading I have to do this semester! I was in gutwrenching fear before watching this video, and your personality stripped back a lot of my anxieties and pressure. Thank you so much!

Love this video and lesson on skimming! It affirms a practice I have used when using textbooks. I used to call skimming "priming the pump" of the brain to get it reading to receive the information. This video is so valuable!
