    My family’s farm was flooded when they built these locks. Were compensated with 4 acres of land in Riversides Heights Ontario. My father is still mad about it,he’s almost 70 😅.

    This is amazing! I traversed the Welland Canal in Viking Octantis, and remember being awakened in lock 4 because of the noise! I went up on deck for a while and it was amazing to watch.

    Your video's are awsome. Could you explain how is it possible for the ship to kinda hit the pier with bow and drag the bow along the pier for a distance in front of each lock withought damage to ships hull??

    These locks are just a tollway for ships.

      Well that, and a means to, you know, get around the drastic elevation changes (aka "waterfalls") they couldn't get past otherwise. But sure, it's all a money grab. :D
