How can you use this for an editibale text layer? It won't apply to text. If I pre-compose, the corner pins are the size of the comp and it's hard to "pin" it correctly.
That's a good question! I was able to get corner pin to apply to a text layer, however it did make it the size of the comp. BUT I feel the best plan forward would be to pre-compse the layer. If you do, there are a few things you could try: 1) Pre-comp the text layer. Go inside that pre-comp, open the Composition Setting (ctl+K on PC, cmd+K on Mac), and change the composition size to fit better around the size of the text. Then, go back out to the main composition, and apply the corner pin. You will now see that it is a much better fit around the text. 2) If you don't want to change the comp sizes, it may be easier for you to use Power Pin instead of Corner Pin. Pre-compose the text layer, and apply Power Pin on the outside of the Text Pre-comp. Adjust the scale of the layer to better fit the size you want the layer to be. Put the corner pins in the correct perspective you need, then grab the yellow lines between the pins to adjust the height/width of the text to make it look correct. Hope those help!
@@wtfx4338 CC Power pin on a pre-comp did the job perfectly! To make the workflow most comfortable, make the text comp the same size as your source comp. Then, scale the text as large as you can and position it in about the place you want it to show in the source comp (top; bottom; center; etc.) Then the workflow will be a breeze. Thanks!
That's great! Glad it worked out. That's one of the best and most frustrating things about After Effects - there are about 20 different ways to do the same thing! haha
I am trying to coner pin my video on this green screen th-cam.com/video/BEd0BGpV4Bg/w-d-xo.html i am helpless cant figure out what to do after green screen goes out of view. Would be gr8 if i get some tips
To be honest - that green screen footage is going to be VERY difficult to get a good track because of how much it's moving (both in position and the corners). If your only concern is how to get the footage to follow the green off screen, I would do one of two things: 1) If you're using Mocha to track - make sure you're tracking more than the green (including some of the back wall), and turn off all tracking except Translation... I'm not sure how successful this would be because of how much the green is moving. 2) Position keyframes. Changes are, you'll already have some position information on the footage covering the green screen. I would create a NULL layer, PARENT the footage layer to the NULL, and set then place position keyframes on the NULL for the portion where the footage moves off screen. This will keep app the previous tracking information, and allow you to adjust the footage freely.
I appreciate your efforts, especially with these small bite-sized videos, but it's just too many jokes for me. For serious learners, it's a major distraction. For this reason, I will not watch anymore of your videos and will instead rely on organizations like School of Motion who get to the point much quicker.
This video is gold - keep it up my dude. Love the humor, thanks for the help.
True.
Glad you like it! Maybe we can keep up the good videos and change our name to King Midas' Golden Tutorials? I'll see myself out.
Amazing, u saved my ass for this college assignment, cheers
