Grandpa's passed-down pick up couple of hiccups under the hood Spent all summer with it trying to get it running good Man I bet I'da had it running great If that 24/7 was 25/8 Jesus, mama, football, that's 'bout all we know around here Breathe it, bleed it, undefeated season senior year Whole town freaked out when we took it all the way to state We practiced 24/7, lost 25/8 There'd be a couple less coulda been's and ones that got away A whole lot more beer to drink and hell to raise Who knows what I did wrong Or finally get right If I had more time to have The time of my life Well, all my favorite stories would have one more page If 24/7 was 25/8 She flew in from California for Daytona for that week Next thing I know I got her wishin' home was Tennessee Still think we'd a been more than just that one spring break If that 24/7 was 25/8 There'd a couple less coulda been's and ones that got away A whole lot more beer to drink and hell to raise Who knows what I did wrong Or finally get right If I had more time to have The time of my life Well, all my favorite stories would have one more page If 24/7 was 25/8 Just one more day I know father time ain't sellin' But there's no tellin' what I'd pay For sometimes time running out can run a little bit late And made 24/7 25/8 I wish 24/7 was 25/8 There'd a couple less coulda been's and ones that got away A whole lot more beer to drink and hell to raise Who knows what I did wrong Or finally get right If I had more time to have The time of my life All my favorite stories would have one more page If 24/7 was 25/8 *But 24/7 ain't 25/8.*
I love you Larry - for the record this feels a bit too pop for the soul filled vibe I have grown accustomed to getting from your voice. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good song, but I miss the man, his guitar & the mic… I hope you keep that forever.
It seems your songs keep getting better and better thanks Larry that’s country doesn’t get any better than that
I’ve never related to a song more than this
A legend in the making, for sure. Well done Larry
Violent Femmes - Let me go on. 😮
Love the song. ( I'm 66 and holding on to 39 )
Love it! I’ve really liked most all of Larry’s songs

Jesus, mama, football, that's 'bout all we know around here
Breathe it, bleed it, undefeated season senior year
Whole town freaked out when we took it all the way to state
We practiced 24/7, lost 25/8
There'd be a couple less coulda been's and ones that got away
A whole lot more beer to drink and hell to raise
Who knows what I did wrong
Or finally get right
If I had more time to have
The time of my life
Well, all my favorite stories would have one more page
If 24/7 was 25/8
She flew in from California for Daytona for that week
Next thing I know I got her wishin' home was Tennessee
Still think we'd a been more than just that one spring break
If that 24/7 was 25/8
There'd a couple less coulda been's and ones that got away
A whole lot more beer to drink and hell to raise
Who knows what I did wrong
Or finally get right
If I had more time to have
The time of my life
Well, all my favorite stories would have one more page
If 24/7 was 25/8
Just one more day
I know father time ain't sellin'
But there's no tellin' what I'd pay
For sometimes time running out can run a little bit late
And made 24/7 25/8
I wish 24/7 was 25/8
There'd a couple less coulda been's and ones that got away
A whole lot more beer to drink and hell to raise
Who knows what I did wrong
Or finally get right
If I had more time to have
The time of my life
All my favorite stories would have one more page
