In this video, I take you behind the scenes of my travel + preparation + execution of my first ever TED talk! Dr Mike is literally my inspiration, I love how he treats and acts towards people and just how he generally is as a person. I aspire to be just like him when I'm older and hope I do end up like him one day with such a giant heart.

That was a really good TED talk! I liked how you pointed out the superiority of studies that focus on outcomes of disease over ones that focus on disease markers. As a third year medicine student, I have come to see how patients are very focused on short term symptomatic relief and are less likely to invest time in disease modifying therapies. Good job, love from India xx

I really loved your speech! In medicine, you have to be aware of what you know and what you don't know. It teaches boundaries, and I think it's a lesson for accountability as well. Again, great speech, Dr. Mike!
I don't know if you look at newer comments on older videos but I just have to say that I just watched this Ted Talk finally and i LOVED IT! I once had a family physician who would give me immediate answers to all of my questions, never looking deeper. He was also in general not a great doctor to me. My new family physician is amazing but the thing I hear from him most often is I DON'T KNOW and as frustrating as it is to not always have answers, it is very reassuring to know he is listening to me, considering the information fully, and being honest. Great Ted Talk Dr. Mike!

That was a wonderful speech Dr Mike... , but you know most doctors don't like to say "yes that's true" (either ) instead they try to deny it by saying ,the opposite, I know it for a fact because it happened to me at a doctors visit in the past, I sat there and saw that he wanted to agree with me. but he didn't. And that's why I took charge of my health myself and found the truth .Never mind the problem that they don't like working in small towns so it takes forever to see him ,we on the other hand only have one doctor hear and three PA's who keep prescribing the wrong meds....... these are just my thoughts. Thank you!
