The way Sans reacts to the Iceshock and the general athmosphere in that moment really makes me think that this is somehow related to Sans' backstory. Possibly Noel (the one from this world) did actually almost freeze him to death, that's why he looks so scared and helpless here (in the normal ending literally half of his face gets blown off yet he just laughs while getting slashes to pieces, i bet he could do the same after getting frozen). I wonder if more will be revealed in the UF animations
I mean, Noel, as we can see in the undertale parallel timeline, is a literal child. Mostly helpless, but maybe she could've tried saving her family from Sans by freezing him and after that he got scared for his life? Basically, a breaking point awakened her true powers.
Well, there a secret in pacifist/neutral where you get the key to Sans workshop (after winning the uno game with IF!Papyrus in the Librarby) and you can see photos of Hometown residents in it. And UF!Sans really hated the whole gang a lot, which is probably linked to whatever happened in his version of Deltarune.
Something even more interesting is that if you do this after doing literally EVERYTHING bad. For example, trying to kill susie. Susie will literally freak out and throw her branch away. Which makes me feel like obliteration is going to start to take a snowgrave path, or at least have a different ending if you choose to do it constantly.
Probably Deltatraveler would have two Obliteration endings: Normal and TRUE Oblid To get normal, you just slaughter everyone as usual. But to achieve the TRUE Oblid, you'd probably have to trigger all soul-ripping cutscenes and/or make everybody plan against you (for example making Susie devious)
yes, I think that's the real way to continue with the obliteration route, if you think about it follows the sense that it's a secret route, and it's like when you have to kill napstablook. In addition, this would mean that if you did not follow these steps you would not enter the obliteration route in chapter 4, which would force you to have to do everything again from chapter 1, which is the objective of this route, to make the player want to leave the route.
Because if you think about it, threatening Suzie it's very secret, because you might even think that following that dialogue would lead to your death like all the previous dialogues, interestingly that's the only bad dialogue that they let you take, and the player might be afraid to choose that dialogue and die and have to do the whole battle again, so he could avoid it and inadvertently abort the obliteration route.
I think it's like when you face the couple of Dogs? That you should choose the bad dialogues to go into battle against them or if you don't choose the bad dialogues you still enter into battle against them? I haven't tried and I don't remember if in the pacifist one you entered into battle against them.
... Chapter 3 is horror. Sans is just.. no, let me fix this Chapter 3 obliteration route is terrifying. I killed sans without iceshock, and i was so scared how we just manically laughs while getting torn to pieces, and how his skull just falls off. This.. The music.. its terrifying. I dont usually get scared, but its the small things like these that just.. make me feel unsettled.
Idk, i was mid neutral route, qnd to be honest the ending was kinda poétic in a way, i did really poorly in the final attack, so poorly in fact, that only susie survived with one hp, and seeing how she killed sans after saying how she enjoyed killing her from underfell's world, was just the best coincidence i ever had in my life
“the...cruelty...” If he thinks getting frozen (and killed almost instantly by it) is more cruel than getting slashed to death, obviously making him feel excrutiating pain the whole process, then i have to digress
I can only imagine the reason he thinks this is because he is experiencing what Big Chill does in Ben 10, "so cold, it burns" so basically being cooked alive (burning alive would remove your nerves before you fully died, making it less painful)
What I believe is he was actually scared of Noelle (or rather Noel) being able to freeze her. Despite the fact he killed her before, her older self from another world got her the same way her younger self almost did: By freezing him solid.
I used ice shock sometimes because of what Sans (the other one) said. Then at the end i used ice shock and then when the music started playing im like "Wait wait i didnt think that would matter-"

Deltraveler clearly follow the "Sans from Deltarune" theory, there a secret where you can get to Sans workshop in Pacifist/Neutral after winning in Uno (in Snowdin Town). And there photos of some inhabitants of Hometown in it, including Kris and their friends. You can even talk to Sans in the shop about it. Also, Fell!Sans really hate the three of them, not just Kris. I guess that's probably linked to whatever happened in this world version of Deltarune.
Freezing to death feels like shit, it didnt kill sans instantly because he hasnt turned into dust yet, he's probably weak, in a fallen down state, unable to call for help, and ends up dying alone after the fun gang leaves, probably feeling regrets in his last moments... at least with the normal ending sans may feel a sense of adrenaline or whatever to numb the extreme pain of susie's blows.
I wonder if this will change how the game will play out, like a sort of snowgrave route(the only issue being, Blue Sans states that ice magic is extremely hard to master, so we’ll can only dream of mastering it{this references the weird route in deltarune since Dark Worlds are just dreams})

I feel this is a pivotal moment for the proper obliteration route. Now that Susie threw away her branch, she can’t reject any weapons you give her, with her saying “I’m gonna keep MY weapon”. In the future she can now wield something similar to the thorn ring or the twisted sword with a trance ability. For any other route, Susie can snap and kill fell!sans herself regardless (though I could be wrong), but can only throw her weapon away when certain criteria are met such as devious Susie and using ice shock as the final blow. I think the main obliteration objective for this section was to manipulate Susie against Kris’ best efforts so that future sections get much worse for everyone. Plus we also got Noelle to do the killing, manipulating her as a bonus. I do wish that the laugh was present for this path, since it was pretty unsettling.
