Why Cats Keep Checking on Their Owners?

- Does your cat frequently check on you? like casually looking around, to make sure you are nearby?
Do they walk in your room, give you a look, and then continue on their way?
If you notice your cat keep an eye on you, it likely indicates that your pet considers you a significant figure.
In this video, we'll explore the common reasons why cats check in on their owners, and what it signifies for you as a caring pet owner.
The first reason cats check on you has to do with their territorial nature.
Being territorial and social animals, cats regularly check their territory for anything out of place and they keep an eye on their family members.
Cats are territorial and social animals. They regularly check their territory for anything out of place and they keep an eye on their family members.
When there’s a strange noise or something loud, they look at their owners to gauge their reactions. If you appear unconcerned, they take it as a signal that everything's normal. But if you're on high alert, they kick into alert mode too. They may even survey the environment for potential threats.
Now, your cat's frequent check-ins might also be a way of making sure you are, still, in fact, you!
They are making sure that everything is fine and that the routine is still the same.
Your pet knows you're the source of all good things-food, shelter, and safety. So when they're checking on you, they are ensuring that you are present to play your role as the great protector. This little check is their way of seeking reassurance that their environment remains stable and secure.
Another reason your cat checks on you is because they want to seek your attention.
They check on you in the hope of receiving positive acknowledgment. Whether they desire playtime, a good petting session, a cozy cuddle, or just a moment of eye contact, your cat wants you to notice them or spend time with them. Some cats even follow you around the house simply because they want to be seen and heard.
Another reason for these check-ins is to ensure your well-being. Cats have a keen sense of smell and are often able to detect changes in their owner's scent when they are sick. They may also pick up on changes in your behavior or body language. While your pet may not understand that you have the flu, they can sense when things are different, especially if you've been in bed or on the couch all day.
When your cat notices something is amiss, they are highly likely to pay you a visit.
Many cats come in closer proximity when their humans are sick or sad. Some even purr and rub themselves more once they sense that their owner is feeling blue.
Believe it or not, cats have even saved lives over the years.
One cat in the US warned her human when he was about to have an epileptic seizure, while another cat in the UK saved his owner’s life by pounding his paws on her chest to wake her up after she suffered a heart attack.
Finally, cats also check on you because they love you. If you have a strong bond with your cat, built over time through love and trust, your pet may check in simply because they care.
It's a heartwarming sign of affection. Your pet is not looking for food. They are not looking for attention. They are just checking in because of the deep connection and affection they have for you.
When your cat chooses to be near you with no obvious strings attached, it means you are succeeding in the art of pet parenting. This indicates that you've established a secure and loving environment for your feline friend.
It's important to note that some cats check in more frequently than others, and their subtle ways of doing so may go unnoticed. On the flip side, some cats may be aloof, detached, or uninterested in engagement due to past trauma or a preference for independence.
Why do cats check on you when you’re asleep?
If your cat checks on you while you are asleep, it is often because they feel safe being around you, and they regard you as a close partner whom they worry about on occasion.
Cats also check on you while you are asleep to ensure your safety.
Many cats are well aware that they, and their humans, are vulnerable when sleeping.
By keeping a watchful eye on you while you sleep, your little tiger is trying to from any potential nighttime threats.
This is akin to how they would protect their fellow feline family members in the wild.
Now that we covered why cats check on you, let’s explore other interesting cat behaviors.
If I don't see my cat for 10-15 minutes, I go looking for her. We keep an eye on each other.
I do as well 👍
😂
My cat thinks he's my body guard. 😻
I guess I'm not alone! Maybe I'm nosy as I always like to keep tabs on where they are, especially to make sure they aren't getting into trouble!
@@dragonfliesnh4204 Nothing wrong with that as a cat has nine lives😀
My cat was by my side all during my cancer treatment. My white angel.
Wish you all the best.
my cat was . . . my CAT.
i hope all is well with you
Bless your cat ; ;
Cats know when there is something wrong ... either to leave you be or be close by depending on what is the matter ... my cat would stay close by if I was physically ill but when I had my knee replacement she (like a smart kitty) kept her distance until I was more recovered.
I had a cat years ago who followed me everywhere, even running up the the sidewalk after me whenever I left the house! His name was Munchkin but my mother renamed him "The Shadow" because he never left my side. He passed away years ago and I still miss him very much.
Several of our cats follow me up the road if I go out on foot. One is particularly close to us and is very protective, she goes on long (miles) walks with us but will not accompany us to open fields, she is aware that there are birds of prey in the sky and knows she would be vulnerable in wide open spaces, she waits under cover for our return.
My can died 1 and half years ago and I miss him so much he was such a character 😻
@@philiptownsend4026 My cat does that as well. They go with me for a walk at night. Most of time, they walk on the grass, pass under bushes of other people's houses. Sometimes, they come up close and walk with me.
When I come home from work at night, they see me from 100 m and run towards me. I guess they see well at night or recognize my shape.
I really am so sorry for your pain and loss.
I hope you didn't blame him for it. He just had to know.
After I had a miscarriage both of my kitty cats crawled up on my chest and my stomach and laid there with me on the couch all day
Sorry for your loss.
The two places that were probably aching 😢
Awww bless you, your departed little baby, and your sweet guardian cats. ❤👼🏻🐱🐱
CATSS!!
They could sense your pain and wanted to comfort you :(, I’m very sorry for your loss
My cat slaps me in the morning to wake me up 😂
I had a cat years ago that would sit on the nightstand and tap me on the head, with her paw, when the radio 8:01 alarm went off. She'd keep it up until I'd get up and feed her.
Mine will tap me on my shoulder or back, waits a minute or two, then tap, tap, tap. “Wake up! I’m hungry!”
One of mine used to try the paw-held-on-cheek, tickle with claws, till she did it when I was in a deep sleep and thought a spider was on my cheek,.... Flying Cat go Me-oooooooooooooowwww. Now she's more, walk up sleeping body and stand on stomach heavy.
Mine yowls when she wants food in the morning. She has a very impressive meow for such a tiny cat.
Or, hey dad, it's time for my breakfast !
When my husband died I went around to the Pastors house. They own a big fluffy orange cat. He doesn't normally give visitors the time of day. As we sat and had coffee the big boy came and sat on lap and curled up. It surprised his owners. Cats understand
animals are sentient--dogs antelope etc
They absolutely know. When my father was at end of life, their cat would not leave the room. He loved Daddy, and Daddy loved him.
Please don't give money to that pastor...you have finite resources they dont...
It's all a sham and even if you drink the religion kool-aid and can't change please don't give them your $$$$....very sorry for your loss...

My cat knew when I had a very bad stomach virus a couple of years ago. She staayed in bed with me the entire day. She passed a few days before Christmas. I miss her more than I miss a lot of humans.
She is in Heaven 🕊
I know that feeling
Its amazing how these animals grow with us & quickly become family.
😢I’m so sorry to hear that, one of mine ran over the rainbow bridge at Christmas 2022 with kidney failure over the space of just 5 days. She had been right as rain the previous weekend. xx
I can understand that. One of my kitteh's passed six months before my own mother, I miss the cat more.
They care for you. This is 100% true. I had a terrible case of the flu. Jody sat with me for 30+ hours while I battled it.
Awww 😊❤❤❤❤
Our cat layed on me while I had a fever. Either she cared or she just enjoyed the extra warmth.
I had a cat who definitely used me as her Safety Gauge.
When there would be a loud or unusual sound nearby, she would quickly look at me. I would let her know that everything was ok by slow blinking and softly telling her not to worry and that I wouldn't let anything happen to her.
She would relax, slow blink and settle back down to her nap.
The fact that she trusted me so completely in every way, was especially meaningful to me, because she was a timid, feral, 4 month old kitten when I got her.
She turned out to be my Soul Kitty, and we were blessed with 18 adorable years together.
It pained me to think what her life would have been if I hadn't snatched her off the streets.❤
How wonderful of you to reassure her like that. And very cool that you took her in, and that she turned out to be such a sweetie. I know you will not soon forget her. ❤
Too funny, I didn't think to slow blink. Lulu was asleep on my lap and someone set off a firework last night across the street. Lulu growled and raised her head to look at me. I said that it's okay and placed my hand on her back. She went back to sleep.
In December they set off fireworks (especially loud bangs) for weeks here. The first year I made sure to be around my cat, not reacting AT ALL to these bangs and giving her an assuring little rub when she looked startled. After a few days the fireworks didn't bother her at all anymore either.
I slow blink too 😊
@jaytee2642 awww, I had feral kitty too who became one of my best pets ever.
At first she always hid when I was home and then it took months more to be able to touch her. (It was the 90s, you just put a feral cat in your house and took it day by day. 😹)
Even after I could pet her, nobody else could but she LOVED hanging out around people, even tho she still wouldn't let many people touch her, ever.
She became quite the little party-girl. If people were over, she'd come hang around near us. It was SO CUTE.
One day, a friend who wasn't even a cat-person was like, Hey where's Feral-Kitty? because we'd been hanging out a bit and she hadn't shown up, yet.
I almost cried!... realizing how far she'd come plus even my non-catty friends were enjoying and looking out for her.
oh btw she was tabby-and-white and on the small side... Just so you can all picture the extra CUTENESS of my little party-girl. 😺
My little tuxie boy always has to know im doing ok. Watches me, snuggles, snooze with his hand on my leg, follow me around, sleeps next to me and always says a chirpy good morning when he sees im awake. He loves his daddy ❤️
My cat definitely sticks around more and checks on me more when I'm sick. I call her my heated, vibrating weighted blanket.
Studies have shown that the vibrations of cat purring also help the healing process if people are sick, and can improve bone density.
My rescue that I found in my yard sick years ago and took into my home and nursed her back to health is my most loving and smart cat I’ve ever had.
She never slept next to me in my bed, but was so in tune to my moods and always watched me and wanted to interact with me. I think she knew I rescued her, but she rescued me, more.
One day, my mom passed away at the care home she lived in , and I had to go take care of her arrangements right away and returned home drained, very sad, and emotionally spent. I did not cry in front of my cat, and I went to bed early that night. Five minutes later, she came to my bed and curled up next to me and didn’t leave my side all night! She knew I really needed some comforting that night, and it melted my heart! She’s never repeated something like this since.
I believe that cats are way more in tune to our hearts and feeling more than most people even realize. She is now 19 and in perfect health for her age. I love her more than words can describe. I’ll always cherish her being there for me that night and every day she’s been with me!
I remember your mother had a German Shepard.
Rescue cats can be some of the most caring, in my experience, once they get past their fear and trauma they are so sweet.
What do you feed her? Because she sounds really healthy. Thank you.
The toilet check in just kills me. My male cat does this to me every time!
LOL Mine too. Watches the flush and goes away. It's also a reminder to shut the lid, otherwise it likes to play in the water.
So does my grey male Tabby cat! He is part if my Mornig Routine ! I call him my Bathroom Buddy! 😂😅😂
Morning
Same with my JoJo. As soon as I make a move he looks up like he's asking "where are you going."
Mine would walk in and look up at me through the leghole. 😂
I returned home from a walk with a broken ankle. I had a cast...crutches..and a whole lot of pain and anxiety. She knew exactly what to do in this situation. She peed in my purse...hat box..and yarn stash. Yep...she knew how to get me up and about..😁👍🏼
That is SO totally funny!
LOL 🤣
Typical.....
I literally had to pause the video because I was laughing so hard at this.
She wants to remind you that broken ankle or not, you are still hers
Where would we be without our beloved little pets. ❤
No way ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I never had a pet myself and I'm alive doing fine, so..
😊❤❤❤ cat person for life !
Same where you are right now.
My cat is with me 24/7. She has been with me for over 11 year. I have Fibromyalgia, chronic pain, chronic migraines, atypical trigeminal neuralgia and many other issues. She knows me so well, and I know her so well. She knows when I'm really having a bad day and stay by my side at all times. I have gone through days that would test the most strongest humans. Kidney stone, gout, these were something I experienced, and were not even close to one of my bad days. Having my cat with me, gives me the strength to push through it all. She is 11 years old now. I have been with her for 99% of her life. This extremely close bond really creates a unique cat. She is a smart cat that is completely aware that a mirror, is just her reflexion. She grew up with a mirror. She knows my routine and will worry when I break routine. Her worrying sound a meow with her mouth closed. She will follow me around the house. I am her world, and she is mine.
I’m always amazed how my cats look at me for reassurance after hearing a weird or loud noise. I know I’m anthropomorphisizing, but it seems like such a human behavior.
If I’m sleeping, hear a noise and don’t know if it was a dream sound or real sound, I look at the cats. If they haven’t moved, the coast is clear.
I've heard it said that cats are training to be human. Don't be so surprised they act very 'human' and more humane and caring than most people. We really could learn from them.
our beautiful little lady follows us everywhere .we have had her since she was 8 weeks old when she became a much loved member of our family and is 11 this year and hope she knows just how much she is loved? she is son loving and caring, she is the centre of our lives, adore Miss Willow.
She sounds purrrfect ❤
My cats "check" on me at night because they want food!🤣🤣🤣
Try an automatic feeder. It's a sleep saver
I honestly love cats so much, to me it's no wonder why the Egyptians worshipped them 😂
Amen! They are little Gods!
Guardians of the underworld.
One of our cats sat down on my computer desk at about 9:30 this morning and aside from lunch and using the litter box basically did not move for the day. I feel secure with her around. She is a good guardian.
kitty knows where you spend most of the day ?
@@herchelleonwood7463 She follows me around the house.
Same! I have a tiny bed for my calico girl besides the monitor so she can keep me company.
I have a fairly large desk area, and mine will snooze on the desk in an area I'm not using when I work from home. However, whenever I have a meeting, she perks up and consistently wanders into the camera frame. It was so bad that during COVID, my students nicknamed her my "Grad Assistant," but since I've returned to the office, I've promoted her to my Research Assistant; maybe in another year, she'll be ready to be my post-doc 😄
Just recently brought 2 ragdoll kittens. They are so clingy, and i love it. They want cuddles and play, and they will follow me everywhere. They're sleeping with me as i type 🥰
I recently lived, along with Mr. B, in a studio apartment. Quite a few times, he has yelled across the apartment when I've gone in the bathroom and out of his sight. I yell back, I'm here, Bubba. I didn't disappear.
My Momma did the same thing when we were little kids. Not a minute of peace.😊
Follows me when I enter the Bathroom, Kitchen, everywhere I go. Always sits in front of me when I am cooking in the kitchen. Waits for me until I come N serve him.Sleeps besides me😻😍. Does everything u explained in the Vid. Thanks for the info 🙏🌷💐👸👸🐈
So glad I'm not alone on this matter! I've been blessed with two handsome and kind souls. One however never and I mean never leaves my side. I'm extremely grateful to have companions like this in life but this is kind of eerie!!
It's a cat's natural family instinct. They are little Godsends.
I have 3 guardians insuring my safety and well being at all times. I am never alone in the bathroom, but they are terrible nurses when I’m under the weather. They don’t merely stare when seeking attention-they meow LOUDLY. Doesn’t matter if they want food, petting, or playtime, always the same tone of voice. I adore all of them.
I often fall or pass out because of my hereditary disease. So one of my cats will always follow me to the bathroom in the middle of the night to make sure I'm okay and one of my other cats have actually helped me when I have passed out. So what this video said was true!
As a owner of 3 cats, its safe to say yup, we are marked as their territory. They rule over us.
Big or small, cats are such amazing, gorgeous creatures.
When I was ill with Covid, my cat whom I kept away from my face and from touching came to sit on top of me like a big mushroom and started to puurrr powerfully that it penetrated down through my stomach. It was like a machine turned on to start healing me. He is very strange and wonderful, my very own soul.
Scientific studies prove that purring resonates at a healing frequency.
I was in bathroom in middle of night and I had 3 amigos guarding the door so we all could go back to sleep lol my boys we couldn't have kids but we have 3 sons I love them so much.😊
Our little furry overlord (overlady?) is always near or on us. I work from home, so she couldn’t be sitting on one arm (like she likes), so she usually sits on my feet (I have a poof under my desk as I need to keep my legs elevated) or between my back and the backrest of my wheelchair. With hubby, she loves to ride around the house on his shoulders so much that he sometimes has to tip her off to go to work himself!
I find that a "shoulder cat" is the perfect way to have the elegance of wearing furs while still being environmentally conscious.
I ❤️ my cats!!
My cat knows who is outside, sure enough when he is jumping on the bench top to get to the window, the neighbour's cat is nearby. Then comes his deep guttural meow.
His morning lie down on my chest, is his way of saying, '' I'm awake".
I respect his space & never disturb him when he is asleep. At night, I get to feel his weight by my leg. Warm and reassuring. ❤
Every morning when i get up,my two cats, one is a Cow Cat and the other is a Tortie run ahead of me watching for danger. I stop and let them do their thing.
I love them soooo much.❤❤❤❤❤
I had a cat from 2005 until she crossed the rainbow bridge almost a year ago. She frequently checked up on me, especially first thing in the morning, or when I was in the shower, and was the most affectionate cat I had (I had 3 other cats growing up).
I have 4 cats (3 are littermates) and one Saturday I was so exhausted from working my 2 jobs, that I just slept a lot. I had the day off, I was burned out, and needed rest. When I finally work up in the afternoon, all 4 cats were sitting side by side beside me, staring at me. 😂 It was like I woke up in the middle of them having a conference about my state.
cats are like little toddlers. toddlers do the check-in every so often thing quite a bit too.
A cat's IQ is actually that of a two or three year old human. I think mine's 4 !
My best girl calls me 'mama'. I like to call her the cutest puddle ever. The way she lays around and gets all comfortable. Its like she melts down into a puddle. Never thought would consider a puddle 'cute' 😂 but she sure is
cats are liquid
My Milo was with me a lot the whole time i had surgery prep the day before and after I had surgery when my mum brought me back he;s a good snuggly buddy.
I had cats who used to check both me and one another before deciding to panic about a loud noise. I think they were not only gauging my reaction but accounting for the presence of everyone. If the crash happened in another room, but either cat checking around saw that both I and the other cat were in the same room they were, THEN they would panic about the noise.
Little angels ❤🥰
My guys are never far away, if not within arms reach(or on top of me) I'm being guarded from a perch somewhere nearby. It's been five years since I've gone to the toilet unaccompanied, and I seldom sleep alone. Wouldn't have it any other way
One snap of the paws and we all get them whatever they need and want.
Cats own us we work for them. 😆
You are so right 😀I cater to his every need. Whatever Mr. Gray wants he gets. Just want him to be happy and healthy. I don't want him to get bored because they can.
Cats don't have caretakers, they have staff!
Mr. Dorito ( Tabby) & Sabú female tri-colored( but not calico) are the C-Class owners of our home. Mr. Bear, our 6 yr old male Border Collie is our Head of oversight committee..
Since when are humans IN CHARGE of a cat ? Let alone multiple??
Some lovely kitties in the video!
When cats look at you, they are checking up on their staff!
But it's not Pee-cah, it's Pie-cah, and humans can be afflicted with it too, with similar symptoms.
It’s really hard to tell if a cat is checking on you since they may also come to see you for cuddles. 🥰 I got a kitten before she was my family cat and she has black and white fur and it was long. She would come and see me every now and then and would rub up against me and would lick my face. She would also sometimes sit on my lap and would also crawl up me so she could reach my face and lick it. I knew it was pure love as she licked me quite a lot she was a very loving and affectionate cat and I still live with her now. I also have another cat the other cat I own isn’t a family cat because I got that cat on my birthday. He was grey tabby cat and I called him Lopez I had Lopez as a kitten in my old home he could be a bit naughty when he was little as he would go in the floor boards and he even jumped out the window once. I know cats can’t get hurt from heights and that they land on all 4 paws 🐾 but my mum assumed that the window wasn’t really safe for him as she thought it might be a bit too high for him but he was fine. and he also climbed up a tree and couldn’t get down before so we had to get help to get him.,.down we didn’t let him out on his own as a kitten since we thought that he wasn’t old enough and responsible to explore the world on his own yet. We got a harness for him so we could help him explore the out side world safely but my mum said that the lead wasn’t really making any difference. Also we would put a collar on him as a kitten so he wouldn’t get lost since he hadn’t been microchipped yet. The good thing was that the collar had a bell so if he got lost I could find him if he went out by himself. I remember hearing his bell and finding him out side late at night. He would often wake me up at night mewing at me and would keep walking onto my bed. After my dad had died from
cancer me and my mum moved in with my step dad and so did Lopez of course he still wasn’t a family cat and was still my cat since like I said I got that cat on.,. my.,. birthday. Lopez is already a grown adult now and has had his microchip done know we thought it was a better option since if a branch grabbed him by the collar his collar could come off too easily. I have to admit that the collar looked a lot more stylish but the microchip definitely worked better for him. I also used to have 2 other house cats when I moved in with my step dad except that those 2 were the family cats we had 2 black and white cats called Noo Noo and Kia. Kia was a female cat who was getting to be really old and Noo Noo was quite young I think when I first met Kia Kia was a lap cat and so was Noo Noo they would sit on my lap. and Noo Noo would lick my finger when I put it near his mouth. In the end Kia ended up passing away because she was really old and Noo Noo was the second one to get old and now he has died as well. I’m only left with my 2 cats now that is Lopez who is my cat and the one with black and white fur now and surprisingly enough she has been given 2 names so we would call her Luna RainBall I called her RainBall and some of my family members would call her Luna. RainBall is now all grown up and has the face of the kitten and would act like a kitten and would misbehave and attack people which she was already a grown up and was too old for this behaviour. She has gotten better though she still attacks my family members every now and then but she’s much better. She’s not a grumpy cat though she’s just really.,.playful.
My mom’s care home had resident cats who wandered freely. Staff told me that one of the clues a resident was going to die soon was that a cat would climb on the bed and snuggle up with the resident.
I’ve owned cats my entire adult life and they had better souls than many humans that passed through my life.
Far too many humans have no idea what animals are capable of or their emotional capacity and depth of the love they can develop towards us.
Due to mental health issues, I have a lot of trouble sleeping. Nightmares and night terrors are fairly normal.
Over the years my cat has developed a habit of gently waking me up when I’m restlessly going through a nightmare by placing a paw on my forehead. She does this sometimes 3-4 times a night. And believe me, I really appreciate it, lol.
I've had cats my whole life. My current cat, Nibbler, was a feral, abandoned kitten I found during a rain storm. I caught him and brought him inside. He was wary at first, but once he realized he was safe, he became the most affectionate and vocal kitty I've e ever had. He talks to me all the time, and I've reached the point where I know what he wants. I can tell the difference between his vocalizations for "I want a treat" or "my dish is almost empty" or "I want to be picked up and loved on"
When people come over, they always comment on how vocal he is, and whenever I start talking on the phone, he hears my voice and starts chattering away so loudly that the other person on the call can hear him. He's the funniest and sweetest kitty I've ever encountered
one of my cats comes when I play the ukulele in bed (which I often do). Not sure why, but the night I captured her I sat with her in the bathroom and played the ukulele for over an hour to calm her down.
Listenning to this video is bringing tears to my eyes. My cat, who lived to be nearly 21 years old, passed away in December and was a loving cat, and knew he was loved. He grew to become blind, and deaf, but when i came back home at my parent's house on weekends, the old fella would come up the stairs, a thing he had stopped doing otherwise, just to seek attention from me in my bedroom. The moment i was there, he sought my presence... Coco, i'll always remember you. Rest in peace.
My cat 🐈 😻 wants to be in my presence all the time
Alarm set for 6:30AM. But at 5:30AM, "Hey, you awake?" "Hey" "Hey" "Hey" "You awake?" "I need someone to walk me to my food bowl" "Hey, you awake?"
Walks cat to food bowl and then back to bed.
2 minutes later...
"Hey" "Hey" "Hey". "Just checking on you to make sure you're sleeping". "you sleeping?"
😂 Yes,my Cat wakes me to take her to her food bowl! She wants me to sit there and watch her eat! This can be at 4am in the morning!!
I adopted littermates last fall, a boy and a girl, and the boy is obsessed with me. I’ve known a lot of cats in my life but I’d never experienced any of this before my little britches came into my life. He meows this squeaky, sometimes actually silent meow when he wants me to pick him up. He likes to be held like a baby and he maintains intense eye contact. He frequently strokes my face with his paw. My dad died 8 months ago and my experience with grief has included a lot of random crying. Twice I’ve started crying while holding my little guy and he wiped at a year rolling down my face. I know this sounds insane. If it hadn’t happened to me, I never would have believed a cat would or could behave this way. I think he came into my life for a specific reason and that is to help me through this painful process of grieving my father, who was my favorite person in the world. We don’t deserve cats.
Funny I'm seeing this now .. I'm going in for my final cancer surgery on Monday morning and my cat is shadowing me everywhere... I just got telling my uncle about that ... Its like he knows he may not see me again.
Let's pray he does okay my heart goes out to you prayers your way I hope you have accepted JESUS as your Savior 🙏 please accept him if you haven't . GOD BLESS YOU IN JESUS NAME AMEN 🙏

How was your surgery ?😢
My old boy would check on me with a specific pattern, and it took me a while before I worked out why. He would visit me more often when my blood sugar was low and tell me I needed to eat. He died last month and I miss him greatly.
My cat follows me every where. I love him.
We got a Maine Coon cross from the SPCA that had been traumatized. Now he is very happy cat and will come and get us to do things like open doors, feed him, pet him or groom, or tidy his litter and then watch as we perform the tasks. He is the sweetest boy and so handsome. He was returned to the shelter twice and was a bit of a basket case but he has blossomed into a very happy kitty. He has become a mommas boy and has proven to be very entertaining. He is also an accomplished mouser. He goes out in the backyard to hunt and always stays in the yard, never wandering. VERY smart and very well behaved. Such an adorable boy.
I had one that would follow me everywhere. I could walk around the block and she would be right there with me! She came to visit me after she passed............true!! She used to jump on the bed and snuggle next to me and one day, after she was gone, I felt her do it again and I reached down before I realized what had happened!!
I was awakened by my fur baby girl last week in the a.m. hours. I felt something pushing on my right thigh, and I looked up and saw her pushing my thigh with both front paws. When she noticed I was awake, she rushed to my face meowing. She was hungry😊 As I got out the bed, she jumped down and ran to the kitchen to take her place at the table, which is a sign for meal time😊 I fixed her a snack and took it to the bedroom and placed the dish on her food tray. She happily ran from the kitchen behind me and ate her food in the same room we sleep. If I don't take her food to the bedroom, she will sit in the kitchen and call out for me to come to her, "meomy, meomy, meomy!" So, this is why I take her food to the bedroom and put it on her food tray😽😻💙
My cat has a special "ARE YOU ALL DEADD?????" meow. I call out from the bed, "I'm still alive dingdong" and she's satisfied.
My old girl would get so upset if I wasn't in my room at a certain time. She didn't want me to pet her very often, but she always made sure I was where I belonged, when I belonged there.
🎀 I lived with my best friend, a calico named Pretty, for 15 years since I was 7 years old. We protected each other constantly against our abusive family and supported each other the entire way. She had Pica as a result of the stress and would have frequent nightmares. Whenever she had a nightmare, I made sure to wake her up and give her love and support.
I was able to escape and give her a final year of her life around people who actually love her. She stopped having nightmares. We were always by each other's side and I miss her dearly to this day.
In the summer my cat goes out for over15 hours. When she gets home, I yell at her and tell her to come home every few hours, so that I know she is OK. She does it too 😻😻
As for cats following you to the bathroom, it's the Gremlins, I think cats hates them
My gray rescue is an attention hog. If I have a visitor, she wants them to pet her. If they don't like cats, they aren't my friends 😤
My cat is very affectionate loving and he never ever refuses attention and loves to cuddle, but i hate to say sometimes he wants to much attention.
How about different toys? Have you tried playing with him using a cat wand?
@@Eileen.Nunya.Bizz1I use the cat wand and i encourage him to play all the time. I think he's a bit insecure because he was abandoned and put outside by his previous owner and he wind up stealing my heart so i decided to take him in after about year or so.
From my mom's side of the family going back three generations....I finally at 42 was given "Evinrude", and "Johnson"... Sylvester and a skinny Garfield looking brother from the day they were born. Named them after water ski boat motors I loved as a teenager. Without question, even though they had different personalities, Evinrude loved being carried around the property, draped over my shoulder as I had my morning coffee. Suffice to say, you are spot on in this video because they are so unique when loved and given affection and attention.
I have two cats and Duncan is a sweet boy in his own right. Now Sasha is my newest addition to the family and that little girl has literally saved my life. I recently spiraled into some really deep, crushing depression. It got bad and I mean really bad. Sasha was able to pick up on this and she was right there to comfort me. In fact for days after the fact she would go into full blown anxiety mode when I would just leave for work because that was hours of the day she had no idea if I was ok or even coming home.
My 15 year old baby girl has recently discovered that that if she curls up in front of the mirror i often use and is on the comfy couch... All she has to do now and then is open her eyes slightly and she can see me without having to turn her head!
💜😊 Years ago I had a seizure-warning cat (Simba). Took a while to realize what was happening. Simba would follow me incessantly prior to me having a seizure. After the seizure, he stayed next to me or even on top of me. A couple times he hissed at paramedics and had to be moved away. Animals are incredibly intuitive! 🙏💜😊
Khoshekh follows me everywhere. If he's asleep and I leave the room and he wakes up to not see me there, he immediately goes looking for me, sometimes screaming for me to find out where I am.
3:46 😮 that little toe stretch! 😢 i love cats so much!❤😊
It could be an extremely cloudy day, but I still have a shadow. Mr. fluff is always there.
The only time I heard my cat chattering was when he was trying to catch a moth that was out of reach. He kept chattering and giving me side glances as if trying to give me directions to where the moth was. We hunted the moth together (well I swiped at the moth to get him to Kitty's reach, didn't want to be a better hunter than him) It was really fun!!
He's usually my shadow so doesn't really come to check on me, he's usually close to me and if he's away for a while then he just returns, he doesn't check and keeps walking most of the time.
I have mobility issues and an autoimmune disease. I have some days where I fall a lot. I noticed my 7 yo cat Salem would almost herd me to a couch or my chair. She lays on me and goes dead weight. I've learned she does that when I have a flair up, and it's gonna be a bad mobility day. She's now officially the boss of me. She's saved me several days recovery time from falls by listening to her.
When I thought that we were both asleep, I need to slowly go my way to the comfort room because my Lilly would easily wake up. It is as if he has a 3rd eye for me even while asleep.
I BELONG TO MY CATS THEY WATCH OUT FOR ME 24 7 AND I KEEP MY EYE AND HEART ON THEM TOO❤❤❤❤❤🐈🐱
I recently lost my sweet baby Aurora after 18 1/2 years together. She was rarely more than an arms length away from me, she slept on me, helped heal 2 broken wrists, 4 broken ankles, and one broken shoulder. She woke me up if she was hungry or out of water. She protected me, even from our 2 male cats we got during Covid, and ran to me if the boys chased her. After she passed the boys, Sebastian and Sinclair started to come out of their shells and have become total love bugs! I thought they just liked my hubby better. lol! They have started taking turns checking on me, or spending days with me, not sure how they have worked that out! I know it will take time for me to completely bond with them, but am enjoying the journey! ❤❤❤
My cat noticed when I had a heart issue.
Magnesium 400 mg, ubiquinol 150 mg, potassium foods will help your heart. I am an ND.
My cat is my best friend and that's why he keeps a check on everything, what a wonderful animal
They purr when you sick or down in the dumps because they know it's healing. It has something to do with the pitch and tone. My cats would wake me up in the night because they want to go out side in the nice summery weather.
My cat, Winston, a big orange tabby, stayed with me when I had a bad case of the flu. I didn't know at the time, but my appendix had burst, and two days later, they had to rush me to the hospital. Winston never left my side those 2 days. When I came back home, he stayed with me all the time as I was healing.
thanks, the solid black cat in the beginning looks exactly like our "Tar Kitty"..he is the 1st male cat we owned and is such a blessing, best cat ever (we are in our 70"s)
When I first got him, my cat basically ignored me. He'd come out to eat and poop, then go back to hiding under the bed or in the closet. Suddenly, the first time I got sick around him (I have GERD, so I get sick A LOT, he started letting me hold him for brief periods and is pretty much always within sight. If I get down on his level, it freaks him out, and he doesn't like to be petted or messed with very much, but he almost always wants to sit by me. If he is chilling in another room, he'll come out and follow me whenever I go into the kitchen or bathroom, and he almost always comes when I call him unless he's eating or using his box. He won't lay in the bed with me (I guess he hates sharing), but he always follows me into the room, and stands (lays/sits) guard by the bed while I sleep. He's a good kitty.
The only point I would argue is that my cats are my owners 😂
My cat, Oscar, would let us know when my mom was going to have a seizure. He passed away at 18 years old, last summer, and we miss him so much. He was such a lovely boy and so intuitive. ❤
Back in the day, I had a cat named Dog and he would wander the house at night making this pitiful howling yowl. We’d yell at him and he’d shut up, but one day I was sitting next to him and he was asleep next to me. I got up to make dinner. About 30 minutes later he woke up and started the yowling. And it clicked. He’d fall asleep next to one of us, we’d leave, and he’d wake up but not know where we went. So I yelled “I’m in here!” and he came running and we were both happy. We didn’t yell after that. He was just groggy and lonely and wanted to know where we went.
My cat, orange, Ryan rattles the door knob on the bathroom door because I close the door when I enter the bathroom. Oh, he also crys.
They check on you because:
1. they're bored
2. you're amusing
3. they care about you regardless of food
4. you are the food source 😅
5. You are the food.
The cat I have now usually comes up on my lap about every 30 minutes, looks me in the eye, gets a couple of pets, and is off again to play, eat, or sleep. It’s like he’s doing his duty checking on me.
Mine waits until the very SECOND that I'm about to fall asleep, then comes and jumps right up on my gut, circles around until she's comfortable, then lays down on me.
I could be extremely tired, and about to fall asleep in about 30 seconds, or a little stressed, and lay there for about a half hour before I'm just about to doze off. But right at that very twilight second, when you are exactly between asleep and awake, BAM!! She suddenly jumps up on me right then. Every single night for years, and it still makes me jump sometimes because it startles me.
How she knows the exact second, I'll never figure out.
I had a pair of guard cats from years 2000-2018 they always looked after me especially when I had my epileptic seizures when I still lived in my parents house they would alert my family that I was having a seizure and they would look after me at bedtime and the older one would do the security guard roll after she did her kneading and knocked me out until she would wake me up at 2 a.m by fighting with strays they had maternal instincts and they would look after me and still get worried about me when I would seizure even when they got old I miss both of them so much ❤️
I can’t go to the bathroom alone 😅 no door shall be closed to me #cat
He also loves greens fresh grown lettuce from our tower garden lol we joke our orange tabby is an omnivore
They will jump into the owner's pants while using the restroom!
I have 3 cats. One is my bathroom guard. One is the living room / kitchen guard. One is the bedroom guard. I'm very well protected when I sleep.
My 🐈 like follow me everywhere go and sleep 💤 with me in bed
I have seen videos where this was demonstrated - the cat’s reaction to something depends on your reaction. If you are calm the cat is calm, if you are frightened of something the cat is frightened of the same thing.
My cat follows me everywhere i go bathroom, kitchen, bedroom literally everywhere
I've had my little girl for just under a year and she's been incredible. She will either sleep with me above my head, or sleep right at my front door. She woke me up when my neighbor was getting broken into, first time ever and I at first I didn't know what was going on.
She loves to play and when I'm sick, she's always within arms reach and doesn't beg to play at all. She knows when I've been tired all day and will get me out of bed to play or she'll even ask to train becsuee she knows she'll get treats (she'll nudge the clicker with her paw and look at me). Whenever I've had to have someone cat sit I feel terrible since the folks who watch her tell me she will just sleep all day or meow and walk around the house as if she's looking for something (we think me).
I came home from a long day 10 work trip, and she came running to me the second she heard my voice...I'm having a terrible night tonight and she's right here. I love her so much and I am so afraid of what will happen when she crosses.
Cats are so intuitive! God bless all of God's beautiful creatures, great and small.
😻🥰🙏
I had epilepsy growing up, I grew out of it, but my cats would watch me if I got a migraine headache, related to the epilepsy. I finally grew out of the epilepsy, after 12 years.
