It's interesting to note that the demons only start becoming active again right after Himmel's death. They were so scared of him, even as an old man, that they didn't dare show themselves again until he was gone.

Being old didnt stop him from being a Hero cause none of it had to do with his body or his "Bud K" sword he got as a gift from a merchant (He is a hedge/folk magic user using spells to move quickly and to cut through anything....thus Heifer always teasing he's a Fraud)

Reading this arc as the manga came out was super hype. The Japanese title being Sousou no Frieren could mean 2 things. Up until this point it was assumed it meant “Frieren, the one who sends off” referring to her former party members dying and being with them at their end (or close to it). At least from what I understand. This moment is when it was revealed the other meaning was where the title comes from, one given to her by demons. Sousou can also mean to kill or end the life of. It’s one of those subtle word play things that gets lost in translation but I feel they did the moment justice in the English translation of the show. The doom slayer memes were endless in the forums when that chapter was released.

The choice to make demons irredeemable in the show was mechanically an interesting one, to bring up adaptive evolution in their development from monsters who cried "help" to demons with higher order thinking who habitually deceive humans in order to consume them. This is a fun and fascinating concept to me, I really enjoyed animal behavior and biology classes in college.
However in terms of underlying messaging and subtext, I think the choice to make "peace envoys" evil was a disappointing one, and naive with regards to what it implies IRL, probably my only complaint about an otherwise perfect show.
I worry that people with xenophobic tendencies will twist this messaging to draw analogies between the show's demons and whoever their IRL perceived foreign threat of the month is, even though we're all human.

      @jaideepshekhar4621 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

Frieren has nothing to do with how it's twisted, like how a superhero movie has nothing to do with mass murderers.

I think that both the show and the manga does a good job of setting up the fact that the issue between demons and humanoids is not one of race but rather that of species.
Case in point: there are not many references to race struggles between the humanoids; elves, dwarves and humans seem to be at peace and trust each other. They are capable of valuing each other's lives. Hell, the *main focus of the story is Frieren learning to value her human companions in her own way,* straight up facilitating communication between a lost culture and current prevalent one.
Xenophobes will misconstrue and represent any story in bad faith, the worst you could do is act as though their malicious reading is in any way a valid conclusion based on the text itself.

First of all, I don't understand English so I apologize if my English is a bit weird.
Also, please understand if this seems like a long post.
Also, I would like to pray for the repose of the soul of Ms. Atsuko Tanaka, the voice actress who plays the role of Flamme.
This anime is overwhelmingly more beautiful than other anime, and it has gags and is a sad anime.
You may not feel the sadness of this anime if you watch it normally, but I think those with a rich imagination or who are highly sensitive will understand it.
If you use your imagination, you can understand the sadness.
I'm sure you know this, but even with English subtitles, names of people and places are in German.
Also, this is a work that places more importance on inner feelings than flashiness.
Also, this anime places great importance on the dialogue, and it's full of great quotes.
Every episode was good, and even in the build-up episodes, it's rare to find such a good story, and episode 27 in particular is in a class of its own, it's an amazing and good story.
There was an important reason and meaning behind having Himmel die in the first episode.
It is also very meaningful that it is always written as "after Himmel's death".
That just shows how amazing Himmel's achievement was.
Even if it was a small matter.
By the way, in Japan it is normal to call the person in the 7th story by adding "kun"(君) or "san"(さん) after their name.
The act of calling a person by name without any honorific title is not done unless you are very close to the person.
By the way, "kun"(君) is usually given to boys. It is sometimes used for adult women.
"san"(さん) can be used by both men and women, but I think it's more often used for women.
"Chan"(ちゃん) is usually given to small boys and girls. It is sometimes used for adult men and women as well.
"Sama"(様) is usually used for people you respect.
"Dono"(殿) can also be used, but it is not used very often.
Also, the meaning is different in the English title, Sousou no Frieren(葬送のフリーレン).
The 8th episode was the title collection episode of this anime in Japan.
Sousou(葬送) means "funeral" and refers to saying your final farewell to the dead and sending them off to the crematorium or cemetery.
This has a double meaning as it is used not only for allies but also for enemy demons.
And I think the 14th episode is the most popular.
How many people really understand this anime? I can't speak for others though...
    I'm sure you'll understand.
And watching this anime makes me realize how precious time is.
I believe this anime has a deeper meaning than other anime like Demon Slayer or Jujutsu Kaisen, which are like defeating an enemy.
I want more people to watch anime like this.
My wish is, for now, My rating on MyAnimeList remains the same, and I hope the number of members exceeds 1 million.
I ended up liking sousou no Frieren better than Fullmetal Alchemist.
Many people there are only anime with flashy looks there is a tendency to want to see it.
Also, YOASOBI's OP has an English version called "The Brave".
I think it conveys the sadness of the lyrics.
You won't understand the sadness until the story progresses to a certain extent, and you won't understand the sadness unless you understand the person's feelings.
Please give it a listen if you like.

Im pretty sure it's supposed to only be a couple days to a week or so, that the demon lived with them. It's likely that the demon only came up with the idea to give the chief's daughter to the other family a few hours before it happened.

Think of Demons as just animals that learned to speak or maybe closer to sociopaths. They cannot empathize with others. They are not Evil, their just animals that eat humans and have evolved to better do that.

The demon girl killing the village chief made sense in her mind. She didn't want to be killed, but could sense the animosity towards her for killing that couple's daughter. By killing the village chief, she could give the couple a daughter and the chief's daughter would still have parents. The reason she waited was to see if the animosity toward her would go away. It did not, so she did what she thought would end it.
