8:43 on the final version, I would have added another light bouncing from the ceiling, an infinibar with the grid or a controlled softbox top down that is supposed to just slightly fill up the shadows that is cooler than the lights to give that tiny bit of color contrast or just keep it warm like the rest of the lights
The end comparison of the cinematic camera and the IRL camera was very valuable to see. Maybe this sounds daft, but seeing how much light is actually in the room, in order to make such a dark shot, was useful to me. Thanks 😊
Brady. Appreciate all your content. Please make a video for beginner cinematography, especially when it comes to filming with your phone. I heard that camera equipment doesn’t really matter so I figured why not start with my phone before I transition to using a mirror less camera of some sort. Thank you
Amazing tips and way of lighting, it is not often I find this important new ways t olight stuff, it opens up a whole new world as a cinematographer. I will definitly try to use this technic and learn how to do it too. Thanks for sharing this revolutionary tip Brady 🙂Where did you learn it? Is it common practice or did you come up with it yourself?
Great tips, Love the look on these shoots. Was wonder do you use your Luts on these or you created a new look, also if you gonna drop video on your color grading and way you exposed and how you edited in post production. Thanks
I'm Brazilian, I live in Portugal and I watch your videos and I really like them, but I always have a question... What color temperature do you set on the camera? Because that determines a lot of things.
Ide give anything just to get clients to allow time to light things. Everything these days is just "shoot this event" or "shoot that event". I feel like no one wants to take the time to plan videos anymore.
This techniques saved me on my thesis film I just shot 2 weeks ago, some great tips here!
Such a great video. Love using the spotlights for some time now. As you've nicely demonstrated - these tools are so versatile.
Bro soooo good. I have bounced light in a pinch but you have unlocked a whole new strategy.
That location is RIDICULOUS !!! 🔥🔥🔥

This was fun, I love the mix of time-tested wisdom and simple practicality! Keep up the good work.
Been with ya a long time Brady! It has been a pleasure seeing your growth over the years.
Thank you so much Jackie, for real!

Love this! I just ordered a spotlight myself from Sirui (the new one that was on Kickstarter). Can't wait to receive it and get creative with it!
Great tips. I love using spotlights for room ambience like this.
I have a short film coming up and I’ve just been binging your content cause I’m the gaffer and it’s helped me out a lot. So thank you
Nice! The takeaway for me is just to find ways to always bounce your light.
Hey Steve! Yeah I love bouncing light!
Very interesting vid as always, but I really loved the way you shape the light and how creative you have to be. Thanks!

场景有限时,采用反弹的布光的方法,白布/米菠萝反弹,再用黑布切去不需要的地方。

Hey, great video. I’m wondering how you go about white balancing in camera for these styles of scenes to get nice skin color and not to tungsten(ish)
Yes this was 4000k WB in camera?
@ thank you, again awesome and informative video!
Anyone have recs on which beam lens is most versatile? Aputure has 19, 26, and 36 degree beam lenses.
I feel like you can use both footage for different purposes
(first setup) Looks a little to bright and cold, but nice technique ;)
