Hi Diann, I hope your eye check up went very well! I so happy to hear the injections seem to be working. I will keep you in my prayers. I’m looking forward to hearing how your pants come out. And you have been getting a lot of sewing done!!!! That’s wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing with us ❤️
You've been having a lot of sewing fun with some great results! It's worth changing the dress to get it the way you want it because otherwise you will not be happy with it even if you make yourself wear it and hopefully it won't be too hard to get it done. Before Pinterest my mom was always ripping pages out of magazines and catalogs of "ideas" for sewing - it's fun to see something and get excited about how we could make something similar! I also have a pair of black pants that are just right - funny how we all have that one thing that is so perfect for us we should probably have bought three of them - except now they don't make it anymore, so we have to. Love the plaid duvet cover, too - what a bargain for all that beautiful fabric! Hope things went well today at the eye doctor.
I love that striped dress on you. It's all I could focus on in this video, the colours are perfect for Spring. You copy garments like I do! Almost staking them out and drawing around, I used to do it on newspaper when I was a teenager 😂. You are so much like me, I also get inspired by photos and try and find patterns I have I can tweak. Great video and lovely to hear your eyesight has stayed stable. ❤ xx
Diann, I love how your projects turned out! I agree with you, that the dress will look better with the horizontal seam. Interestingly enough, I too was cloning pants last week and was excited when they turned out. I have a flat bottom and no hips or waistline. Now I have a good master pattern to work from. What a relief. I hope I don't gain weight LOL. If you have enough of the duvet fabric left, you should make a summer weight shacket. It screams shacket. I agree whole heartedly with the pattern hacking idea. I've never let the lack of the exact pattern stop me, either. So happy for your success with your eyesight. God is good. I have my annual diabetic eye exam on Tuesday. Hopefully, my cataracts and macular degeneration have ground to a halt. It sounds like you have found a competent eye specialist. So happy for you. 🌻 Bernadette
I enjoy and appreciate your encouragement to be brave and take what patterns you have and make creative adjustments. You make me think it CAN turn out and be a success. Your commitment to ripping out and not giving up is inspiring. Keep coming back! Blessings on your eyes and see you next week.
Diann, I love that striped fabric. Your dress looks great! You did a wonderful job on the pintucks on the New Look blouse. I love the ruffle neckline. The sheet fabric is beautiful. Good luck with the pants. Maybe the organic cotton ate grass-fed beef! Just kidding LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Good luck with your eyes! Have a great weekend! ♥
The dress you have on is beautiful and I like the v gathering,it was the first thing I noticed. I pray your eye is still maintaining. Have a wonderful week.
It was nice to see you, Diann! The bedsheet top is really pretty and I like the striped top too! I'm happy to hear that your eyes are doing well and will continue to do so! 😘
The pink stripe you have on is a great color for you and the reversed v looked very nice on you. Also, your sheet fabric blouse is beautiful. Hope your eye che k goes great.
Before you said anything about possibly changing your dress, I was thinking that the way the seam went up in front didn't showcase the striped fabric as nicely as it a straight seam would. It looks like you definitely have enough to re-cut the front bodice. Even if you leave it as is, it is a very pretty dress. I have the same fabric, by the way! I think your blouse turned out really pretty, even though it stands away from the body. It is a look, and I, personally, like it. It's so floaty and romantic and feminine. What a score on that plaid cotton fabric! Wow! Thanks for always being so upbeat. I still say prayers for you and your eyesight. ❤
Your thrifted fabric is beautiful! I like the striped dress you're wearing; the bodice shape is cute. Perhaps you could make another striped dress with the straight bodice. 🥰🥰 As always, I enjoyed your video.
Hi Diann!!! I love that dress on you! And the pintucks look fabulous! I'm about to tackle those with the LN Juliet top ....just a little scared! That thrift fabric is so pretty and will make great pjs! Good luck with your eye appointment 🙏and I hope your sewing machine is okay💓💓💓
Love your Forte dress. I'm like you, I think the bodice will make you happier if it is straight across. I hope your eye exam went well and that your vision is stabilizing.
I made a lightweight bedspread out of 3 (1970’s) curtain panels that were never used. I took out all the pleats at the top, washed a d ironed them flat. After that I measured the width of the bed and then sewed all the panels together and folded them up to the correct width to fit over the bed. The length was perfect but I had to take out about an inch and a half of the side hems of each of the 3 panels to have it fit the width. It worked out just fine and now I have a nice summer blanket/bedspread to use. It took me a while to figure everything out but in the end it came out the way I wanted to. I like the dress you made, and I agree with you on redoing the bodice. It will make the whole dress look better…good luck with it.
Hi Diane, You are so inspiring. In the UK we have a programme called The Great British Sewing Bee.. I don't know if you have heard of it. There are about 12 contestants who each week have to face different challenges and if you lived over here you would be perfect because you are so clever at sewing. I hope all went well with your eye appointment. Have a lovely weekend x
Hi Dianne ☺ Your top and dress are beautiful! Going to go a little off topic....Your eye doctor visits sound really similar to the appointments I'm taking my mother to these days, though hers is macular degeneration and there are shots for some bleeding in the back of one eye. She's stable now as well 🥰 Glad to see you so happy with yours. Also, I've heard you mention (I think) the Blue Ridge Parkway, and I think showed us a nearby mountain....the book I'm just finishing up is "A Walk in the Woods, Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail by Bill Bryson. He goes right through there and mentioned that mountain! It has gone quickly as I can't easily put it down. Except to sew 😁
Love the thrifted fabric you snagged. Could there be enough fabric for a full pj set with a short robe? Always nice to have a matching set for any planned travels. Btw, gorgeous inspiration blouse you found. Can’t wait to see what pattern you find for that project.
Hello sweet Diann! I’ve missed you! Hope you have been well and looks like you also have been sewing a lot. Love the striped dress and I think I’d like the straight across bodice better too. It’s cute as is your pin tucked blouse. Great makes!!! I’m slowly making good progress on my knee, the replacement has been hard but I’m getting better although slowly. Still going to p t twice a wk and I sure don’t like it as it gets to hurting but not nearly as painful as it was at first. Has to be pulled by me or me doing the exercises pulls the muscles and stretched too or it will not be good and feels tight and the pt people and surgeon don’t want me to be lazy,,, I’m doing my best for sure!!! Im not a good person to always exercise a lot but I’m doing ok. The surgeon thinks I should have a better bend on the knee but I’ve got lymphedema in both legs also. They stayed swelled but not much until evening then I really can feel how heavy they get and painful feet also. My legs are short anyway. But the pt gal ( she’s not an assistant or whatever but a real certified p therapist so I trust her a lot) said this afternoon as long as I’m progressing it’s good. Otherwise the surgeon will do what’s called manipulation. No way! Under anesthetic. Nope! Not happening. So,, I’m getting to sew some now too. Im finishing up the first double sided peach colored flannel baby blanket for the other pt gal. Her first baby is due at the end of July. She said she’s going to ask for drugs asap! lol to that, right? She’s almost 33 so she’ll figure it out, won’t she? But I’ve wanted to sew something for a while it’s just been hard until now to get my knee bent enough under my cabinet top, for sure! I certainly do have plenty to sew, but it’s been hard to get back into it. Is that called losing my sewjo??? Well, hopefully, I’ll overcome this too. Hoping your eye exam was great, too. Keep sewing and I will too. Take care and hopefully I’ll hear back, I’ve missed you! Nancy from Indiana.
Your striped dress is beautiful! I don’t think it looks bad at all with the V, but it would be more striking with a straight bodice I think, since the contrast between the stripes would be more extreme. Either way- it’s a great dress! I’m glad your eye is maintaining!
Hi Diann! I like the pintuck top❤
Love your dress its looks fabulous the tops very cute sending many blessing to you ❤😊😊
I always enjoy listening to you.

I really, really like your dress with the v-style bodice just the way you made it!❤
Prayers for good test results on your eye!!
