Scripture Passage: Ephesians 2:11-22
Introduction
Memory is a wonderful gift.
God wants us to remember our hope is found in Christ alone.
Explanation
1. Remember what we were (v11 12)
….our sinful nature; that we were far away, without hope and without God
2. Remember what we have become because of the work of Christ on the cross (v13 19)….
that Christ shed his blood, made peace and reconciled us.
3. Remember what we are altogether (v20 22)….
the one new humanity, redeemed, reconciled and indwelt by God to be Christ's witnesses in the world.
Conclusion
Remembering our hopelessness, what we were and what we have become in Christ
gives us hope and the reason to be grateful for the salvation that has come to us.

1. What do you remember of what you were without hope and without God?
How does remembering help you to be grateful for what Christ has done for you?
2. Christ is our peace and made peace between us and God.
In what way can you be a peacemaker ” in the church and in the community around you?
3. We are called of God and are drawn into His creation of on e new humanity. In what way/s can you respond to what God is doing?
