You know, watching this scene with Jon the Martian man hunter looks like an amazing way to use him in the movie version of the dc universe. Instead of him being instantly kind and humble right off the bat, he should be mysterious, neutral and start off as a bad guy and villain in a Superman movie. Creepy in nature and odd in powers and presentation. He could be a character you won’t know if he will be good or bad but can’t be contained in a prison so he roams free. He can eventually become kind and humble and even funny but not in the beginning
Hopefully in the Superman legacy universe Martian the manhunter plays a role just like this a mentor and aid to Clark

I don’t think Superman should be the strongest hero purely speaking of strength. I think he should be a tier or two maybe three below the strongest like Hercules, lobo, grundy, doomsday, darkseid and some others I am forgetting because some of them don’t have super speed or technique etc like Superman has to win a fight. Maybe Superman at the end when he finally powers up he can be the strongest.

That is why I can't take animation seriously. The main plot of any Superman adventure is to nerf him. Originally Supes lean into the Parasite so that the villain cold rob him of more kryptonian power. THIS is the end of the fight because it was too much for Parasite to absorb.....

I mean there seems to be a bunch of different versions, if you want to count every little comic and everything, then you would need to count the games, which he can die in. Though he also seems to be susceptible to magic, which means someone could just turn him into a flea or something. Though nothing actually says he is specifically immortal, he can regenerate, so could Cell in Dragon Ball, suppose you could just through him into a sun or something, though his powers seem to frequently change and have both come and gone. I just don't remember anything about him being immortal in Superman or Justice League animated series, he was almost a comedy relief villain most of the time to my recollection. Though I didn't spend years of my life reading books with the text content of two paragraphs, so sorry I am not well versed in all the different lore of who has always been played off as a joke villain. Thankfully we have the internet to hold the capacity of human knowledge that are brains could only dream of holding, not that I would care to have all that nearly useless information in the back of my head 24/7
