someone told me that males are more difficult to handle...they are dominant etc...do you agree...Im planning getting one soon. should i prefer a female?
We got our first yorkie, Madison (Maddie) from a breeder as a pup. We had her for 2 years before we got our Male (Ozzy). Ozzy's mom had breast cancer and could no longer care for him. He was 2 when we got him.. It wasn't long before he and Maddie were best buddies. Ozzy was the most loving cuddler we ever had. He would snuggle up on my shoulder just like a baby. Maddie gravitated towards my hubby and Ozzy was my boy! Maddie was the boss! She never let anyone forget it. She was also very sweet. We lost both of them in 2020. Ozzy left us in May and Maddie in September. They were both 17. We are missing them tremendously and will most likely get another when we are both retired. I really do believe that it doesn't matter when you adopt them, they immediately wrap themself around your heart. I really enjoyed your story. Enjoy those 3 babies!❤ Debbie
I have had one Yorkie. Max was a rescue from a shelter. He had been turned in as a stray, and was estimated to be 6 years old. He lived to be 14. I had never had a Yorkie, and after 2 years without one I am ready for another.
Thank you for sharing how you got your Yorkie’s. I have a small Yorkie named Moxie who is so wonderful and smart. I took time to train her right from the start and used a bell by the door that hung from a ribbon when she needed to go out to do her business. It worked perfectly. My husband and friends were amazed by our little puppy❤️ She is our first Yorkie and we adore her!
Hi, Megan. I came across your video from another Yorkie video my husband sent me. We just lost our Teddie (Yorkie) a week ago. He would’ve been 16 years old in November. We got him from a breeder. You are so compassionate. Hearing how you talk about your baby and his disease is comforting for me knowing that someone else has gone through what we just did. My Teddie had kidney disease and we went through treatments for over a year. Like you, I will love him and miss him for the rest of my life. 🐾❤️
Hi there, I am so sorry that you lost your sweet Teddie. I can say for sure that I will miss my Teddy for the rest of my life. He was my very best friend in the world. Be gentle with yourself, and take your grief one step at a time. Megan
I started with Silkies and showed. Before they passed in late life I recieved a rescue yorkie. He recently passed from tracha collapse. I have purchased a yorkie puppy this past week. Love this breed.
lovely story! i have 1 yorkie, had her from a lovely litter of 6,shes 9 now, called minnie.Shes my third yorkie.Dad got our first yorkie when i was 16,called penny.Honestly,my favourite breed, the most loyal, intelligent, special breed. Your yorkies are adorable!
Love you your Yorkies they are beautiful ! My little Yorkie Mia is 5 yrs old and a sweetheart . She is my 5th Yorkie. After 5 Yorkies grooming them is a breeze...haha. Mia has a very good temperament ,but you're right they will run your house if you let them. Sometimes it's hard because they're so cute. And OMG how smart they are !! Mia is active and she loves to play. Leaving her alone by herself while I'm out is never a problem with her. And actually none of the my Yorkies that I have had mind staying at home by themselves
Mia sounds so wonderful and just so smart. That’s wonderful that she’s perfectly happy to be home by herself. I always leave the dogs With the television channel playing the Hallmark channel so that they have some thing soothing and positive to watch when I’m gone :-)
Hi Megan, I just found your channel and I absolutely love it. I grew up with my three Yorkies. My last Yorkie, Maci, actually moved with me to my graduate school apartment last year. Sadly she just passed away last month. Watching your videos is really helping me deal with the loss. Thank you for all that you share!
I had a morkie and he was the best doggo ever-I got him in 2009 from a breeder. He was such a chill beautiful boy. he passed away last year and I have been grieving his loss still. I recently decided it was time for a new puppy- once a dog person, always a dog person 😊 I fell in love with the Biewer Terriers so I am picking up my new pup this weekend! it's been a while since I puppy trained and I am nervous and excited at the same time. Wish me luck!! oh and the new pup is a boy- I've had both boy and girl dogs over the years but felt a strong pull to get another boy. Love your videos and so glad I found them- they have been a huge help!!
@@MeganGraham hi Megan! yes it's going well! potty training was tough though as you know with the boy yorkies- but he's a doll..he just turned one in December! 🐶
Hi Megan! I just found your channel and subscribed! I am a crazy Yorkie lady with one little girl. I did a tremendous amount of research and found a wonderful show breeder. My baby was 1 year old and had been shown 1x. She is gorgeous and now an elegant senior lady of 15.5 and has always been in excellent health. Your fur babies are beautiful!! I look forward to binge watching your channel 💕
@@MeganGraham Your babies are so gorgeous! My little girl is cuddly but on her own time! Her breeder told me that the boys are more affectionate/ cuddly than the girls! I cherish every moment with my baby!
We adopted Georgie Burns from a local rescue. He’s a great little brother to our other rescue Gracie Lou...she’s a Maltese terrier mix.I have always had medium to large dogs but as we age smaller breeds are easier to take care of. My Yorky and my Maltese was the best decision I ever made to adopt from a rescue they are sweet lovable Gracies a little bit of a watchdog Georgie followed in her footsteps everywhere she goes they are both neutered and spayed and Gracie Lou was crate trained . I had to train Georgie to the crate they were not puppies when we adopted them they were both a year and a half to two years old. Rescue was the best decision I’ve ever made too😉
I have just one that I purchased just 3 weeks ago from a breeder. She is a Yorkiepoo and she is the sweetest puppy ever. She is doing wonderfully with pee. Pad training I would say about 75% now. But I’m finding at 84 she is a handful for me but I would t trade her for anything. Thank you for all your tips. I enjoy your videos
Megan I love your videos your such a wonderful communicator. I too love , love Yorkies and have owned 4. They are love bugs. 6 yrs ago I discovered the Biewer Terrier breed which was first bred in Germany from two Yorkies with piebald genes. They are also very sweet my Ozzy is also a love bug.
In the 1990's I bought Phipps at 8 wks from a Breeder and I could have paid for his AKC papers but decided not to. He was the Love of our family. Next we adopted a Yorkie from a shelter "Shotzkie." He was the Love of our lives until he was about 14-16. Now we have our Boy Bently a Yorkie from a Breeder and he is now 4years old. Bently is our Love and the Sarge of the house as he runs it! We love your TH-cam videos too! Thanks for sharing...❤️
I have 2 female Yorkies. Their names are Ivy, who is now 3 years old and Lily who is 2 years old. I bought them from a breeder. They are the loves of my life. They are the best cuddlers. They both are smart but do still have potty issues at times. I had a Yorkie once before and his name was Rexx. He lived to be 15 years old.
My Yorkie, Bella Anastasia is 1lb. 4oz. of LOVE! Bella is 6 now, She to is from a breeder and she is the love of my life! Thank You for sharing your 3 lil babies!
Superb presentation, Megan👍983 Looks so amazing and cool! 💯 Appreciate the post, thank you! Have a wonderful week ahead Friend 🥰 Keep up the impressive work and keep in touch!
I have 2 yorkies. Rocky is 11 y/o and weighs 15 lbs. He is vocal and terrified of flies. I got him at 12 weeks old and he has always been awful at marking everything. He was fixed when he was 1 year old. He has recently been diagnosed with allergies and has to receive weekly allergy shots. Belle is a 7 y/o and weighs 5 lbs. We rescued her from a life of breeding and living in a crate in the owners garage. She has been with us 6 mos and is the most loving precious girl in the world! We had to have all but 5 of her teeth removed and we had her fixed. She has just become confident in her life here and has a very sassy personality.
What a wonderful story with your Yourkies and so nice your husband supports you and he also like Yorkies. Mine I got in October here in Ohio from an Amish people who bread them. She is only 4 months and is a little feisty. My husband adores her and she looks for him every time she wants to walk outside to go and do her business. I love hearing and watching your videos, I hope my girl grows long hair so I can do her ponytails. :)
Thank you so much:). I love to see how much Jeff loves Alfie, Lola and Poppy. He travels a lot, but when he is here they all wake him up in the morning so he can give them "tickles". It is the cutest thing, and they all love him to pieces! That is so cute that yours is fiesty, and that she loves your husband. What is her name? It takes a while to grow out their hair so they can wear a ponytail, but I am sure it will happen. Just get her used to a very gentle daily brushing now, and when it is long enough... be sure to use a gentle scrunchee or ponytail elastic to secure her pony. I used a cheap barrette when Lola was little and it made a little bald spot. It was so sad!
@@MeganGraham My little girl’s name is “Chiquita” 😜 and I tried doing her ponytail and it only lasted a few days. I could tell it ripped her hair to some degree, not too bad, but I have not done it again. I did the elastic, but was too much for her little hair she has. I am letting her grow a little more so I can use the scrunchy until she grows older and has more hair to use the elastic. She is only 4 months, so the elastic maybe too much for right now, but I love the bows and all. Your dogs are so ADORABLE and I’m impressed you actually got the when they were older. My husband and I were set on a little one, but is a lot a lot of work. It does pay off seeing her grow, but and adult is awesome all together and I can see it by your dogs. They are ALL adorable!! 💕💕 Happy New Year to all of you.
HI Martha:). I love her name! Lola's full name is actually Lolita. Their names sound a bit alike:). Do you have the special tiny elastics? My friend has a website called topline pet and it has a great selection of tiny scrunchees and elastics. I actually do two ponytails on my dogs instead of one. I am a hair stylist (as my actual job) and it puts less presssure on them. Maybe I should make a short video to show how I do it? I love puppies too, but I do love my dogs that i adopted when they were older every bit as much as my puppy. I am just lucky to be a "dog mom" to such wonderful yorkie babies:). Happy New Year:). Thank you for all of your kindness, I appreciate you so much. Megan
@@MeganGraham Thank you and definitely a will like the website to purchase what she has for scrunches and would love to see a short video on how to put on a pony tail. I love “Lolita’s” name... so cute too.
Great story, Megan. I'm really commenting on your video about 10 things you should know about Yorkies. After watching your honest comments about Yorkies, I made the decision that I had a very unrealistic view or "fantasy" of what having a puppy would be. Because of your insightful and real video, I have decided that I do not want a puppy. My house is brand new and I don't want to put myself or a puppy through the house breaking process. Finding a house broken lap dog that I could spoil is probably a dream for me that is just that--a dream. Thanks again for your great content.
Hi Patti, Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by to say hi, and comment. I completely understand having a fantasy about how something will be. I don't think that they are impossible to housebreak, but it can take some work. My female yorkies are actually very good with their habits, it is definitely my male (who is un- neutered because I co-own him with a show breeder) who is the naughty one. He is so darn cute that I just plan for the times that I know that he will act up and put a pampers on him:). I did just get a siberian kitten and I must say that they are wonderful "lap cats". almost just like a dog, but easier. You can even teach them tricks! Megan
Oh my gosh! I am SOOOOOO excited for you ❤️❤️ If you are anything like I am, you are totally in that nesting phase of getting ready. Number 1 thing, get insurance. I tell anyone, and everyone that will listen, because when my sweet Teddy got sick, he accrued 45k in medical bills over 5 years and they paid 90 percent. It truly was a lifesaver for me:). I have not edited it yet, but I just did a Yorkie dog carrier video, and I have a feeling that you might like that too. I wasted a lot of money at the beginning on carriers that I din't really need. If there is anything that I can help you with, please feel free to to ask. I love to share my knowledge, and I like to think it will help yorkies around the world have happier, healthier lives. xoxo, Megan
Thanks for sharing your story. We are getting our first puppy next week and it is a Yorke from a show breeder as well. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and they are quite informative. 👍🏽
They are so cute!!, I have one male Yorkie now, he will be 2yrs soon, he's totally indoor puppy pad train, he's awesome keep me entertained and my husband, my last female Yorkie came from a friend, she lived to almost 15yrs old, She was very isolated, didn't like any company or family came over, so I decided to get a male , he's very friendly and loves to cuddle with you
That’s so cute. I think Yorky would like to go outside though. They’re not really meant to be kept strictly indoors, and definitely live a happier and longer life with some nice walks outside.
I had a 7lb yorkie called Milo. He was 2 when we adopted him and he lived till 16. We lost him a year ago and miss him so much but ready to welcome another yorkie to the family. Just waiting to find the right one ☺️
That is so wonderful that he lived to be 16. I am always hopeful that mine will as well:). I hope you find the right yorkie for you and your family:). Megan
Hi Megan right now I have only one Yorkshire terrier. I love him like my child. He came into my life as a puppy that fit into my hand. I bought him from a breeder and all the way home on the day I picked him up he was biting my hand . I mean can u imagine this 1 lb. puppy fiercely chomping away. he must have been so upset we almost took him back. Lol fast forward 3 years and he is now my constant companion my buddy and friend. I would be lost without him.
I have a 9 month older Yorkie and her name is Coco. She has my husband wrapped around her lil paw, I really can’t imagine my life without her. I came a oss your video and I hit the subscribe button so fast. 😃
Hi Megan, I’ve watched a few of your other videos on Yorkie’s and they’re really informative. I got my first “Yorkie” Kale 7 years ago from a lady online. She gave me paperwork to register but I never did because I neutered him right away and wasn’t interested in breeding. As he got older, he completely turned blonde. Some people have actually suggested he might be a silky. Regardless, I love him and he’s a great dog! I’ll be getting him a Yorkie friend soon and this time from a reputable breeder. Thanks for the video!
Yorkies can look lots of different ways. Teddy was very light, but he was from a show breeder. People always have funny things to say don't they? Love is all that matters ❤️
What a beautiful baby in your profile picture:). Thank you so much! I am so glad that you enjoy watching my videos:). I am going to be putting some new ones out this week. I was so busy the last week getting the dogs used to the kitten, and also afraid that the kitten might knock my computer over:). Megan
we got our second yorkie from out breeder, she was going to be a show breed yorkie, but was too small as well. We got her when she was 10 months old, and Auggie (our first yorkie) was 8 months old. She was set in her ways and over time Penny has gotten better. I wouldn’t change either of them for anything. we often talk about getting a third.
Wonderful story of love and acceptance. We had a Shorkie who looked like and was incredibly intelligent like a Yorkie, he really took the Yorkie side. We had our Bubba for 15 years and to say we were devastated at his loss doesn’t begin to explain it. We have a Yorkie puppy, Cooper, who will be joining us this July 17 when he will be 10 weeks old. We can hardly wait!!! Our home is way too quiet and sad. We miss being bossed by a 7 pound sprite that steals our hearts. We know your pain of loss believe me! Just as you experienced , we did all that was humanly possible for our boy, but there came a day when he looked at us and his eyes told us “ mommy and dad, I can’t do this anymore” and we had to let him go. I’m crying YET as I write this! We will never, ever stop missing that little boy. Cooper will be loved and cared for and we don’t expect him to be anyone but Cooper. That is our story. We are looking so forward to next month. Love and best wishes to you and your 3 baby dolls💖💙💖
have 4 yorkies my 1st lived to be almost 18 she saved me from drowning in the tub never taught. I had a seizure she ran to daddy bit his hand he found me drowning. They can smell a seizure before I have one
Hi Debra, this is such an amazing act by your 1st yorkie! What a little hero! Thank you so much for takinh the time to share this beautiful story! xo, Megan
Hi Megan, Thank you so much for your Yorkie videos. This one, especially really hit home. I had a 7lbs male Yorkie, who graced us for 14,5 years. I lost him almost 4 years ago, due to old age related illness and both my partner and I were devastated... It still hurts, but we decided that it is time to at least try to get in the process of adopting another Yorkie. However we find ourselves self-imposing non-sense obstacles... I guess we still haven't come to terms with our boy's loss. I would appreciate some advice on moving past the pain, ang how to give ourselves (and a puppy's) the chance to be a family. Thank you.
I am so sorry for your loss. I would pick uo some books on grief to work through it. Also realize that you will never be "over it" you wll just learn to live with it.
@@MeganGraham thank you so much for your reply. Do you think there's ever a good time to adopt again? Or "diving in" may actually be a better route for a fur baby to reach our hearts?
I have one Yorkei. I got her from a breeder when she was 6 months old. She is now 3 years old and she weight only 3 lbs. I love her soooooo much!! Her name is Layla.🐶🥰
I love your story!!! I have a yorkie as well and just like you I only wanted a girl , it took six months to find one as there are a lot of scams out there when it comes to finding a yorkie puppy and so I had to be careful and really investigate the situation before actually finding one !! So now I have her and her birthday was 2 days ago and she is now 2 years old she is so full of energy I dress her up and she hasba pair of sunglasses that match every outfit one thing that I haven't been able to train her on is a leash she just can't seem to get it no matter what I have tried so she has a doggy stroller . She also has a pink car seat she loves to ride in that connects to the console between the seats . The only down fall is we take her everywhere since day one and now my husband and I cannot go anywhere without a babysitter but the babysitter can only sit with her at our home she will not stay anywhere else or the barking never stops and she will stay by there door I love her dearly her favorite thing is to play ball but has to be the ball with the ball gun and now that it is winter she has one that shoots across the garage anyway I love spoiling her and dressing her I love her personality oh and she talks she says momma and since she has learned that word she uses it alot when she wants my attention we also have to spell words now especially ball and she is now learning how to spell haha she is just to smart !!
Hi Megan, I just love Yorkshire terriers Yorkies, I got my first Yorky 11 years ago from some friends of mine that Bred Yorkies! I called about the Yorkies when I seen the ad in the paper and I went over to their house and two of their dogs had litters. There is all these little baby Yorkies all over the floor. It was so cute. The first one I got a hold of I knew she belong with me, I named her Maggie Mae after that song from Rod Stewart I love that song so I gave her that name. I took her home and she was the boss She was such a love. I had an English mastif that she would make samess to her. It was the funniest thing. She crawled all over that dog. Anyway, I just had to do the worst thing in my life I had to put Maggie Mae down three weeks ago, Now my heart still aches. I have a schnauzer named Tasha she’s even sad. I’ve been looking in the Google or Yorky rescues, but I really don’t know where to go. Do you know of some place in Washington State so you can call them Or lead me the right way to go. I would really love to get another girl. I just loved her so much. I’ll never forget Maggie but I do need to fill some of the ache in our heart and help Tasha with her pain! Well that’s some of my. Oh I forgot to saying Maggie lived till 11 years old. Which I wish It was longer but I still have her in my heart. So if you know any good rescues out in the Pacific Northwest I live in Washington state could 12:37 you help me find a good Rescue for a little girl? Thank you so much for your little Yorkie story, I really enjoyed it! you so much I saved it to my favorites, have a good night and a Merry Christmas!! Pam
I am so sorry for your loss:(. She sounds like such a special baby and you loved her so much. I don't know of any rescues, but I am sure that if you google and do your research you will be able to find a great one! Please let me know what you find:)
I don't have a Yorkie, but a Silkie Terrier. Most people think he is a Yorkie because of his face but he is a little larger at 11 lbs. and has the Silky traits of being nosy and wanting to know everything that is going on in the house. He is 17 1/2 years old and in diapers now but doing well and I love him so much!
I lost my baby Farrah after 11 years she was my everything having a hard time with it but I have her son and he just father's a lil girl puppy I named finlay .my dog mia only had one .so it kinda feels like Farrah came back to me . Yorkies are the best breed .such a bond
We have a little boy Yorkie, I have always wanted one, and we've had other mixes, but I wanted to get a full breed. He is 9 months old, still potty training, that's been difficult. I do think females are easier to potty train. We haven't had him neutered yet, but that might help! When we went to meet him the breeder brought out this tiny puppy 5 months old, of course I was sold, but then he said ,oh this is the wrong one, and out comes an older puppy, well I was so disappointed, I was ready to leave and then he said you can have the little one, we were thrilled! Well he was so tiny that I was worried he was too little and he didn't eat well. After two weeks he settled in, but still not eating much, and his blood sugar dropped so low we had to rush him to the emergency Vet! Very expensive. Anyway he's fine and I just love him, he's very independent and sassy! Your Yorkies are adorable!!
My first baby girl was Savannah. She was show quality, but I wasn’t interested in showing her. She was my Baby: the BEST, most well behaved, cutest & sweet personality ever! She was the whole package. I got her from a friend pet shop owner who bred HER very own Yorkie named, Kiwi-just for me. What a precious friend! This was in League City, Texas.
I just got my yorkie at 8 wks. My yorky who was my best friend Precious 7 yrs was attacked by a pit and he killed her within 1 minute. Please don't trust any dog with your best friend. I went to a breeder 1 week after this happen and got my Angel sent from God. I will never forget my Precious. Love your videos and your yorkies are beautiful
Hi Loretta, I am so sorry to hear this, and I completely agree with you. Sometimes it is very hard to walk my yorkies because so many people think that it is ok to leave their dogs (of all sizes off the leash). I don't walk near other dogs, but I am always nervous about all of the dogs that I see off the leash.
Awwww! I think your Husband married you for your yorkies babies😂Ruby is 3 and we’ve had her from 8wks old. Rosie is 5 and adopted. I totally agree with you about adopting an older dog. It’s like Rosie has always been with us! I’m absolutely loving your Yorkie content we are binge watching all the back videos. X
At some point I can make a video for what I feed specifically, but it would only pertain to my dogs age/activity level and caloric density of food. When puppies are growing they need more food than less active adults.....there are so many factors, but most food has a guide that comes with it. I usually take notes on how my dogs are doing with their food and tailor the amount based on that. Megan
We have a little boy yorkie his name is Charlie, and is is 4 years old. So full of love and cuddle, he to doesn't have the best potty habits. But he's worth it! We also have a pomeranian little girl named Ellie-Mae, not as full of cuddles but very independent. She is only 4 months old.
I also have a chihuahua ( a female) who is 15 years old.as well as her son who is 13. The female chihuahua plays with. Yorky puppy who is 8 months old. She gets worn out pretty quick though, since she is an old dog.
My first Yorkie was a girl (and I originally didn’t want a girl) but she became my baby. It has taken me three years to get over her passing (she lived till 12) and now I’m finally ready for another Yorkie! Maybe two lol
Hi Linda, you sound so much like me! I wanted a girl, and would up with a boy and he was the sweetest ever. My mom made me a beautiful memory bear out of his things, and I just love it so much. I was thinking of makeing a video about how I dealth with pet loss, but I don't know if it would be too somber for people. It does seem that we all go through it at one time or another though. Two is a great idea, I bet you the dogs would love that! ❤️❤️❤️
Teddy looks like my dog! So cute! One ear down. I am not sure if both will go straight up at some point. He is 6 months old. The groomer said that at 7 months both ears will stick straight up. What do you think?
We take him out on weekends walk for an hour , only with both of us, I guess he doesn't want to be home alone, he can potty outside too, I had no problem training him, he so ego to learn tricks with his favorite treats, I like how u leave their hair long with a pony tail, may be I will try that too!
I am so sorry for your loss. It is such a sad thing to lose our special companions. I think there are still some special yorkies that need to be adopted:)
I have to agree my yorkie male pees on everything. It's bc I neutered him very late in life. But he is absolutely the most cuddly and gentle sould. My heart melts every time. All he does is fallow me around.
Loved your Yorkie stories. I had my Yorkie, Chico for 16 years, and was devastated when I finally had to put him down due to health issues. My family misses him every day. I have not gotten another Yorkie. I am getting older and live in NYC, so it's difficult to bring out a dog in the winter time. Once you have a Yorkie, you will probably not get any other breed of dog. You just fall in 💕 Love.
Older dogs have a much harder time getting adopted, but they are so deserving of a great home:) Maybe something like that would work for you? I love the instagram account Wolfgang2242 He adopts so many senior pets, and gives them the love and care that they deserve. I agree about the Yorkie breed, once you have one, you just fall completely in love:)
I had a Shih Tzu puppy for three weeks. She was nine and a half weeks old when I got her. We never bonded! She was not a good fit, so I rehomed her. Fortunately, the day after I rehomed her, I found an adult dog online and I picked her up the following day. We bonded as soon as I got her home!
Wonderful story teller. Sorry to hear about Teddy. Why did he hv shorter hair style? Different breed variety than your other two? I’m looking for a small short haired Yorkie under 10 lbs or so if you can point me in the right direction? Thank you 💙💙💙
My Yorkie died about a week ago and I am heartbroken. He was very active and served as my cats personal trainer. I will have to find another dog soon to eep them in shape.
I've been trying to find a yorkie cause I lost my yorkie about 6 months ago and I'm ready for another one so could you tell me where a safe place to look
We have our first Yorkie after 34 years with Cairns, who are very independent. My Yorkie is a female; extremely affectionate and attached to me, though she loves my husband. Hope, the Yorkie is 2 1/2, while our Cairn is 17... Hope is extremely jealous of the Cairn to the point of being abusive if I would allow it😰. When we lose our Cairn, I am torn as to whether or not to get another Yorkie! This is my first experience with two dogs at once. What is your opinion of adding another puppy to the family when that time comes? Also, the Yorkie are has been terribly difficult to housebreak. One more question, have you been through as many rugs as I have? We do believe in crate training...but the rugs are more interesting 🤨!
I love my Yorkies. I have two. I first bought Bobby who is a male for my birthday. The breeder call me after six month and ask me if Bobby was not lonely and and she decided to sell me Dolce who is a female. Since then I love my puppies and I have two. They are my babies 😍
Hi Megan, I had a yorkie 10 years ago and she bit everyone that entered my home. Even if I brought her out for a walk she would snarl at people and other dogs. I got her when she was a puppy so there was no trauma in her life that would have affected her mentally. I asked my Vet what could be the problem and he told me not to worry, that some Yorkies can be very snappy. Then one day I tried to take a hair clip out of her mouth and she sunk her teeth into my hand and wouldn't let go. I was so upset that she actually bit me...I couldn't trust her anymore and I was scared that she might attack me or someone else again so the Vet recommended I put her to sleep. It was the worst thing I ever did in my life. Later I got a Labrador puppy and she's a beautiful girl with the warmest heart and thankfully she loves everything and everybody. I still would love to have a Yorkie but I'm terrified. Did you ever have any problems with your Yorkies or do you know anyone who has? I have no clue as to why my little yorkie was so vicious. Your Yorkies looks so adorable🥰 I'm so sorry about the long Comment💖
Did you hire an excellent dog trainer? Honestly sounds like your vet did not know what he was talking about. Your dog definitely needed some training, and it doesn’t sound like she got it. I could be incorrect, but I don’t hear any part of the story saying that she was either sent away to a training facility, or professionally trained. Many dogs could try to do things like that, but dog training is what trains them out of doing things like that. Just my opinion and I may have missed part of the story. That’s very sad
@@MeganGraham thanks for getting back to me. When she was a pup she went to puppy classes for training and then when the attacks became worse I hired a more dog trainers to come to my home to help. But after a long time, the trainers all gave up. The message was already long enough so i didnt slide that bit in. I haven't been without a dog since I was 5 years old and I'm 56 now, but never experienced anything like I did with poor coco. It makes me nervous to get another yorkie but I love them so much
3 weeks ago I put my 16 year old yorkie to sleep. I gasped when they took her back for a shunt. They brought her back and let her sit in my lap while they administered the meds. She died quickly in my arms. I screamed all the way home. It’s just so devastating!
@@MeganGraham I do! He is about 3 and a half months. He likes to go outside but I live in Buffalo and on really cold days he can't be outside. We are trying to pad train him but it has been tough. Any advice would be appreciated!
I don't know what you mean by where you live. It is a national company. I would call Trupanion, I can't speak for other companies, but I imagine many have a cap on the starting age for insurance:(
Hi I have 2 yorkes they both are female one is 5 years and I got her from a friend my other one is 3 this one I got lucky and pay only 300 dollars and she so adorable also there names are Bella and Chloe they are my babies love them so much 💗
I got my silky when he was 4 years old from the previous owner. I had cancer surgury the month before and he would stay close to me all the time. When grandchildren cane over he would play with them for a bit. Then come back to my side. He is my tonto. My robin. My sidekick. I can't go the mailbox or the bathroom without him keeping an eye on me. He is 9 pounds and won't let my husband get too close to me. If there is a thunderstorm he barks
I have a yorkie boy i got from a local breeder as a puppy. He will be 3 next month. He is definitely my baby. He has cuddled with me since day 1. I also have 4 cats and a Labrador and have been thinking about getting pet insurance. How much does it help with cost?
It helps so much. It pays for 90% of emergencies, sicknesses and things like that. It just doesn’t pay for wellness visit and Vet exams. There is a link in my video called small dog accessories to my pet insurance and it is absolutely fantastic.
@@MeganGraham absolutely because I have a new yorkie puppy and I want to start off right. I’ve had other breeds such as poodles but they are beyond easy to train. I hear mixed reviews on yorkies
@@genejaytre It's so funny because I have commented in some of my videos that Yorkies are (generally) difficult to house train, and a few people get so upset and say that theirs was "easy" but is is the exception. Is your puppy a boy, or a girl?
They very smart, U can look up on TH-cam how they training dog ,but the only thing i am sure if U keeping training them with their treat from 10 to 12 minutes without frustrate , they will make U happy show their tricks , good luck 🥰
I have 3 yorkie’s now but I Lost my 1st baby last November from lymphoma she was only 9 when she was diagnosed and it was the most devastating thing ever she was the best dog like your teddy. I had another Bella at the time and I knew Lexie was only going to last so long, yes I’m a crazy yorkie lady like you and spend nearly $15,000 on chemo but it was the best money ever spent she got 10 months but I didn’t care she was the best. So I reached out to to My original breeder cause I didn’t want Bella alone and we drove 57 hours to Arkansas to get 2 new yorkie puppies Haven & Zoey whom are just the best as well but boy do I miss Lexie it’s been very hard. Your babies are beautiful and I have to say im having a hard time potty trying Haven she’s the same peeing on the couch, the bed everywhere so I get your frustration with that and ve had her since a puppy but she just won’t go where she’s supposed to. I love looking at your videos and appreciate your love for your babies.
Thank you so much fir your comment. It’s really clear that you have a beautiful and kind heart. I am so sorry for your loss. Is there a chance that haven might have a urinary tract infection? The seems to be going in unusual places?
I also have a 11 month old yorkie he is the sweetest baby ever although he also has bad potty habits so we keep him in a diaper... What do you do about the markings?
Belly bands, sometimes pampers and I don’t keep too much on the floor. I think I have a video on house training where I go a bit more in depth if you want to check it out :-)
For the males, take a long sanitary pad wrap around the dogs waist and pin it. Keep the paper tab on it so it don't stick to stuff, now if you put a shirt on them, you can take the tab off and it will stick the shirt and stay in place. You can use cloth diapers too, just pin them onto a shirt. I take baby onesees, cut out the rear end so they can poo, it is easier to pick a small bit up than clean the stuff off them. Newborn one may fit right. My cockapoo use to pee all over the place to. Boys are bad about it. I really want a girl this time. All my cockers have been males down to the cockapoo.
I really wouldn’t bother with all of that personally. I would just use something like a belly band and I never would try to catch number two with a diaper. I think just basic potty training is more important.
Hello Megan Love your video’s I now just became a mom to my third little Yorkie. Almost 4 months and 2.90 oz I hope you answer this question. She has tearing almost daily after she wakes up and runs around. I try to wipe her eye, but will try to get away. I have not had her groomed yet as she is so rambunctious and want it to be a positive experience. I just bought a hammock and thinking I can try to bring sh her. She wants to eat the eat the brush. I could on and in about a few problems but all in all she is a doll face and live her so much. Please help Thank you Pat
Hi there, I read over your comment a few times and I can’t really tell if there’s a clear question? It says please help but I’m not sure of what you were asking.
@@MeganGraham Sorry about my crazy comment. Just getting over being sick. My question is 1. Is there anything I can do about my 4 month old tearing. Try to clean eyes but fights me even with cloth. Teething. 2. She just turned 4 month and will not stay still for brushing. She is little and rambunctious. Should I wait for grooming and Hope it improves. Had groomer at house and she said to wait. Bought a hammock and Hope I can get hair out of eyes. 3. I see you recommended food for dogs and just sent for Ollie trial. She eats hills tiny kibble and a teaspoon or so of wet Royal canine which she hates and leaves it. Hand feed her kibble. One at a time. Had to do this when I first got her due to hypoglycemia. Do you know if I have to add nutrient’s to the new Ollie food? How much can I give a 4 month old wither of 3lb. I hope my questions little clearer and love your video’s Pat and Kaylee
Hi there, please watch my videos, I’ve been pretty specific in there that I don’t direct people to any breeders. And that people are scamming you when they use the word tea cup.
Yorkshire terriers are truly the most amazing, loving, loyal dogs. I had 2. Just lost my Toby. Rip my little mate. Glad I found your channel.
I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you love and light ❤️
I have a boy, he’s 4 months he’s my first and his personality is awesome. Can’t believe how smart he is.
They are so smart! I can't believe how quickly they learn. They also understand so much more than you would ever expect them to!
someone told me that males are more difficult to handle...they are dominant etc...do you agree...Im planning getting one soon. should i prefer a female?
What a beautiful story:). Thank you for your kind words, and I hope that you adopt a baby soon. He (or she) will be so lucky. Megan
I have had one Yorkie. Max was a rescue from a shelter. He had been turned in as a stray, and was estimated to be 6 years old. He lived to be 14. I had never had a Yorkie, and after 2 years without one I am ready for another.
I hope you find your next companion:)
That is awesome! You are such a good mama:)
Love this breed.
lovely story! i have 1 yorkie,had her from a lovely litter of 6,shes 9 now,called minnie.Shes my third yorkie.Dad got our first yorkie when i was 16,called penny.Honestly,my favourite breed,the most loyal,intelligent,special breed.
Your yorkies are adorable!
That is awesome! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am so sorry for your loss, I know how much it hurts to lose them:(
I had a morkie and he was the best doggo ever-I got him in 2009 from a breeder.
I hope that everything is going well with your puppy❤️❤️❤️
She sounds so beautiful! I feel like from the description she sounds a lot like my Poppy!
Rescue was the best decision I’ve ever made too😉
,
I have just one that I purchased just 3 weeks ago from a breeder. She is a Yorkiepoo and she is the sweetest puppy ever. She is doing wonderfully with pee. Pad training I would say about 75% now. But I’m finding at 84 she is a handful for me but I would t trade her for anything. Thank you for all your tips. I enjoy your videos
I know what you mean, they can be a handful at any age!
They are all so adorable. Lovely Yorkies 😍
Thank you:)
Thank you so much! I love their coloring (and disposition) so much. Ozzy is such a cute and unique name too!
Sorry for your loss. You have beautiful doggies.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
In the 1990's I bought Phipps at 8 wks from a Breeder and I could have paid for his AKC papers but decided not to.
You are so kind, thank you:)
That is so awesome! Thank you for sharing:)❤️❤️❤️
Superb presentation, Megan👍983
Looks so amazing and cool! 💯
Appreciate the post, thank you!
Have a wonderful week ahead Friend 🥰
Keep up the impressive work and keep in touch!
Thank you much for your very kind comment. I really appreciate your!
Hi Patti,
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by to say hi, and comment.
Megan
Your babies are so precious!! My little guy is coming home at the end of January so your videos have been a lifesaver!! Love your content!! 💕💕
I am so excited for you and your family:). So glad that my videos are helpful too! It is really fun to share the info and make the videos!
I have a Yorker named Peaches. I could not have a better baby. She is demanding and delightful and I love her so.
my last 2 yorkies came from the shelter They are super wonderful
Yes! And thank goodness they are now in your welcoming home. This makes me so happy!
Yes, puppies do bite:). It is just a puppy thing, but important to teach them early to bite chew toys, not people:)
I have one yorkie she is 4 she was stolen from me an I just got her back a few days ago after 4 months
That's wonderful that you got her back!
Your Yorkies are adorable. I have a ten year old named Katie. She is a wonderful pet that never leaves my side.
They are just the best companions. You never feel lonely when you have a Yorkie.
Omg! Super cute yorkies! We're planning on getting a Yorkie, hopefully this year. Thank you, Megan! I will keep on watching your videos! 🐶❤
Thank you so much:). That is so exciting! I am glad that you are learning all about them now. You will be a great Yorkie owner ❤️
I have a 9 month older Yorkie and her name is Coco. She has my husband wrapped around her lil paw, I really can’t imagine my life without her. I came a oss your video and I hit the subscribe button so fast. 😃
hahahha:). I bet she does!
You are so right all my yorkies except for one came to me as adults. I love your videos. I have two yorkies
They are the best!
Thank you for you very kind words:) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
have 4 yorkies my 1st lived to be almost 18 she saved me from drowning in the tub never taught. I had a seizure she ran to daddy bit his hand he found me drowning. They can smell a seizure before I have one
Hi Debra, this is such an amazing act by your 1st yorkie! What a little hero! Thank you so much for takinh the time to share this beautiful story! xo, Megan
Aw, Teddy is soooo cute (RIP) Lola is adorable too!! Poppy is cute too!! Alfie is adorable too!! Such a beautiful story!!! 🥰🥰🥰. Such cuties!!
Thank you so much for your kind words, they are very much appreciated:) ❤️❤️❤️❤️
They are SO loveable, the best!
She sounds like such a cutie, and boy you guys really love her!
Silky terriers are just beautiful!
Omg love your fur babies i had a Yorkie but he left us in June I am now ready for another ❤ thx for this beautiful video
I am so sorry for your loss💔
I lost my baby Farrah after 11 years she was my everything having a hard time with it but I have her son and he just father's a lil girl puppy I named finlay .my dog mia only had one .so it kinda feels like Farrah came back to me . Yorkies are the best breed .such a bond
They really are the best.❤️
She sounds so wonderful! I bet she added so much joy into your life.❤️
I love your story. I’m a hairstylist as well and I have three yorkie. Two boys and one girl..
Thank you!
I enjoyed this sooo much!
Thank you!
I agree, and I can't blame him!
Hi Megan! I love you videos, can you make a video on portion sizes you fed him as a puppy?
The boys sure are more naughty, but also soooo cute and loveable!
I have Lucy she's 2 yrs and a half.. love her character
Aren't they just so fun? :)
Indeed they are! Lovable and very loyal!🥰❣️
I also have a chihuahua ( a female) who is 15 years old.as well as her son who is 13. The female chihuahua plays with. Yorky puppy who is 8 months old. She gets worn out pretty quick though, since she is an old dog.
So sweet!
Hi, just discovered your channel even from here, Germany. And, besides, YOU are looking so extremely attractiv - you could be an actor.
What a very kind compliment! Thank you so much. I am so happy that you discovered my channel, it makes me feel very international:). Megan
Teddy looks like my dog! So cute! One ear down. I am not sure if both will go straight up at some point. He is 6 months old. The groomer said that at 7 months both ears will stick straight up. What do you think?
I don't think the ears will lift back up, no. But it will be extra cute.
I’m so in love with your pups!! I have 2 and I am
Looking for more. I am
Very particular and still searching
Wonderful!
We take him out on weekends walk for an hour , only with both of us, I guess he doesn't want to be home alone, he can potty outside too, I had no problem training him, he so ego to learn tricks with his favorite treats, I like how u leave their hair long with a pony tail, may be I will try that too!
Sounds so cute:)
You are so blessed! I lost my yorkie about 8 mo. ago. I would love to have someone want me to adopt one!!!!
Belly bands are so helpful for this:). I also wrap a pampers around Alfie's waist (like a belly band) and that saves me from cleaning up messes too.
We bonded as soon as I got her home!
wow, it is good that you knew. That has never happened to me.
I miss my Yorkie Chickie, she was 🧁🧁 🎂🐩🦮🐩💞sweet.
❤️
awesome dogs 😍😍😍 thanks for sharing
My pleasure! Thank you so much for stopping by to say hello, I really appreciate it… And hope you are having a great start to your week!
I have a yorkie he will be 2 in May. I am his 3rd owner. I love him so much!
That is so wonderful. It sounds like your Yorkie has found his forever home for sure! I am so happy for you both!
@@MeganGraham he is a very picky eater. I have to sprinkle cheese on his food. He only eats the cheese .
Try the Just Food for dogs. Mine used to be picky, and now they stare me down for their meals. lol
Wonderful story teller. Sorry to hear about Teddy. Why did he hv shorter hair style? Different breed variety than your other two? I’m looking for a small short haired Yorkie under 10 lbs or so if you can point me in the right direction? Thank you 💙💙💙
Just because that is how it was cut. He was the same breed variety...but he had chemotherapy treatments which lightened his hair and made it curly/
My Yorkie died about a week ago and I am heartbroken. He was very active and served as my cats personal trainer. I will have to find another dog soon to eep them in shape.
I am so sorry for your loss💔
I adopted luci when she was 1 year old and now she is 9 years old , she is adorable and very healthy
That is great, I’m so glad that the two of you have each other!
Your subs were at 999. I subscribed so I hope that made me 1,000 !! You are a beautiful, kind and lovely women. I know I will love your channel !! ♡♡😘
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it, and I am excited:) 1000 is definitely a reason to celebrate! :)
We had a yorky and he was very smart his name was Teddy I would love to get another one but can’t afford one right now
I've been trying to find a yorkie cause I lost my yorkie about 6 months ago and I'm ready for another one so could you tell me where a safe place to look
It’s all on my videos. Watch the price of a Yorkie.

I think those questions are really your choice:). For more info on my dogs house training, def take a look at my house training video:)
Your a good ambassador for the Yorkie breed
Thank you!
Hello. I’m from the Philippines. I also have a Yorkie named Lola. 😃 She’s 4 years old. I got her from a breeder.
Hi there:). I love her name!
I love my Yorkies. I have two. I first bought Bobby who is a male for my birthday. The breeder call me after six month and ask me if Bobby was not lonely and and she decided to sell me Dolce who is a female. Since then I love my puppies and I have two. They are my babies 😍
That is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your story:)
How much are you paying for your yorkies ? And where are you getting them ?
It makes me nervous to get another yorkie but I love them so much
Love this info! Did you get your puppies in Massachusetts?
I got them in New England.
3 weeks ago I put my 16 year old yorkie to sleep. I gasped when they took her back for a shunt. They brought her back and let her sit in my lap while they administered the meds. She died quickly in my arms. I screamed all the way home. It’s just so devastating!
I am so very sorry. It is so heartbreaking!
Hi Megan I was wondering if you have any potty training tips and where your dogs go?
I think I should do a video on this subject this week. I get asked all of the time. Do you have a new puppy?
@@MeganGraham I do! He is about 3 and a half months. He likes to go outside but I live in Buffalo and on really cold days he can't be outside. We are trying to pad train him but it has been tough. Any advice would be appreciated!
I posted a video, I hope that you find it helpful:)
Hi again! I hope all is well. I was wondering if you treat your dogs for heartworm, fleas and ticks? If so what do you give them? Thanks 😊
Pet insurance is very new where I live. And they only cover your pet until the age of 10 yrs. Is that normal?
I don't know what you mean by where you live. It is a national company. I would call Trupanion, I can't speak for other companies, but I imagine many have a cap on the starting age for insurance:(
@@MeganGraham I live in Namibia, in Africa. Everything is a little backwards here😅
Why are tails docked ? I love my yorkie s tail
That's great that you love your yorkies tail:)
Hi I have 2 yorkes they both are female one is 5 years and I got her from a friend my other one is 3 this one I got lucky and pay only 300 dollars and she so adorable also there names are Bella and Chloe they are my babies love them so much 💗
Wow! You are very fortunate indeed! I am so happy for you, and I love their names!
So cute!
Your dogs are gorgeous
Hi Brenda, Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️. I love them sooooo much, and I think they are pretty cute:)
Do you have video on house training yorkies?
Hi there, I haven't made any yet, but I have been asked a few times. Would it be something that would be helpful to you?
Teddy was the cutest little baby 🥰
Thank you so much. He really was the very best little guy. I was so lucky to have him. ❤️
Where did you get the steps you show in your video?
Thank you, Georgia Simms
❤️
I also have a 11 month old yorkie he is the sweetest baby ever although he also has bad potty habits so we keep him in a diaper... What do you do about the markings?
Belly bands, sometimes pampers and I don’t keep too much on the floor. I think I have a video on house training where I go a bit more in depth if you want to check it out :-)
@@MeganGraham Thank you !
My Yorkies name is Lola too!
My favorite name!
Hello Megan
Love your video’s
I now just became a mom to my third little Yorkie. Almost 4 months and 2.90 oz
I hope you answer this question.
Please help
Thank you
Pat
Hi there, I read over your comment a few times and I can’t really tell if there’s a clear question?
It says please help but I’m not sure of what you were asking.
@@MeganGraham
Sorry about my crazy comment. Just getting over being sick.
My question is
I hope my questions little clearer and love your video’s

Hi Megan..
I'm looking for Teacup puppys, pls if you k ow a place the they sell it, pls let me know and thank you
Hi there, please watch my videos, I’ve been pretty specific in there that I don’t direct people to any breeders. And that people are scamming you when they use the word tea cup.
Where did you get your dog insurance and what is the name of it
Hi there:). Great question! I just added a link into the description for the video so it would be easier fo r you to click through:)
