      @@SimonHutchinson so... I went down a ridiculous sampling rabbit hole with these concepts and ended up making this (1 of 2 so far):
      th-cam.com/video/m_G2RPGSHLY/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=bringerofDOOM
      All derived from the first few sec of an exe file render. Thanks again for the great ideas.

    I like to do .exe files with Audacity, because you always get very similar sounds, but in different places and with slightly different sounds.

    • @SimonHutchinson
      @SimonHutchinson  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! For some, at least to start, small doses might be best. There are a bunch of those found-footage horror films that use these kinds of effects in their sound design. I'm blanking on a concrete example off the top of my head, but they're in there.

    @anfanger4 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    and is there a way to convert the audio back to a .psd file again? this would be cool for puzzles or something.

    • @SimonHutchinson
      @SimonHutchinson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's an interesting idea. I don't actually know much about .psd files, but I would guess that they might be pretty delicate (i.e. easy to corrupt beyond readability). They've got all that photoshop info about layers, etc. But, check out Part 4 of these videos, and I do show some stuff with working with .bmp files in Audacity (and audio files in photoshop)!

    • @MadaraUchiha-oh3iv
      @MadaraUchiha-oh3iv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but you should know how the file is made. Generally speaking there is a part for flags and info, and one for data. If you mess with the data you can get pretty good shit. For example try using the pictures, with different extensions. Open them up in audacity, apply some audio effects in the middle(where there is no header) and save it back in the same format. That will give you some glitch effects on the image
