Why do many people consider electronic genres just to be noise? A record like this is so artistic and deep that I feel certain segments of Trance/House are probably the closest relatives to Classical Music in existence. There is no reliance here on clichéd, banal lyrics or over-stylised pop pin-up personalities. This is purely about sound, which creates an atmosphere and influences mood. It evokes feeling without even saying that was the objective. I love it.
es geht um schwingung und diverse räume in die man getragen wird, ob klassik, techno, rock, mozart, vivaldi, es geht immer um energie, was man ist und was man draus macht
Don't forget the hypnotic constant rhythm that puts you into trance, or a meditative state, and it can give you an adrenaline rush and hype of energy. It's how the music started in the first place, there's something primal and tribal in this kind of music. It's more than just listening to good sounds, it's an internal experience.
Ultimate driving through the night tune. Particular the last 100km toward the Calais to Dove ferry on the french side. Perfect rolling motorway, no speed cameras, no cops, no traffic.........just the road, the wind, the tune.........))))))))))))
hey guys, i'm almost 60 and still really enjoy good quality music like this.Used to go to illegal Raves just to get to hear good sounds. Very few ever get to the commercal side of things , so you never hear them. Now with modern technoligy you can see and hear them when ever you want to.How good is youtube.HOW good is this band. Thanks for the posting.
i'm standing outside as snow is falling. i'm listening to dark train on repeat. I haven't moved in 30 minutes. but I am not cold. That is what this track does for me.
ich könnte das nicht ohne bewegen, aber ja ohne frieren, das geht es ist ohne zeit und raum, es ist freiflug in eine ander ebene, eine die befreit mit sehr guten vibes
I have hands down listened to this song more times than any other song. It's looped through so many productive and halcyon days, drives to work and play... This song is my brainbeat; Hours and days and years... it is my clockcycle.
No but tastes and trends obviously change. I'll often hear a song from say the 80s or 90s that was a favourite at the time and think, "WTF was I thinking?"
If something is good, will be good for eternity :) ppl are mentioned here 80's , 90's songs that they r still good. Bro, look on Bethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Bach etc. :) songs from years ago !!!! And they still kicks asses :)
Of all of my favorite Underworld tracks, this is by far my most favorite. I still remember hearing this live when Underworld came to Chicago back in the late 90s.
back in the days, we would dance to stuff like this, all night long, often smiling, floating away. coming home in the morning, to later, reminisce about the party and the tracks played, telling our mates about the great time we had. yeah.
Call this genre what you want, this is one of the biggest dance anthems ever. Underworld may make rubbish now but this song is a shining example of what they're capable of. within and outside of this movie:) keep it up lads, in whatever form!
I love this song, its pure brillaint. First heard it when watching the film 'Trainspotting' which is equally brillaint. I often listen to this track when driving at night or on long journeys. Underworld songs are great for long journeys, they average out about 8 minutes a song :D
love this track...its just hypnotic and helps you forget everything else around you for a moment....brings back such good memories and is a great co-pilot on long journeys....thanks for posting this track
WOW!! Stunning! I forgot about this song. I used to listen to it around the same time this video was posted. I miss those days so much. to think that to this day much of the great trance and other techno music of the early/ mid 200s never made it mainstream. Kids have no taste.
Simple and complicated at the same time, Underworld at their best, like the sublime soundtrack to the opening ceremony of London 2012. National treasures.
That's one of my greatest favourites. I still remember how proud I was after passing exam at my studies and reworded/rewarded my happiness and ease of mind. Learning efforts sometimes need some lump of sugar like horses after a good race...
This was an awesome track after coming home from a rave/afterhours, laying down in bed but you can't sleep cause you're high as a kite still. This would help me wind down and relax.
high as kite ... made my day :D Anyway you are right, I am always putting these kind of stuff to the playlist at 3AM when we are making party in the our flat.
PURE, AUTHENTIC & UNADULTERATED TECHNO... listening to this is like being in a state of pure bliss allied to the feeling of isolation from everything negative which exists everywhere man TOP NOTCH !!!
Underworld really did revolutionizethe dance music scene in 1996 with the singles for trainspotting. This and born slippy are time tested classics that will NEVER grow old for me. to this day I still hear these anthems played in the clubs all over the world!!!! Brilliant!!!
Okay, I don't mean to comment again, but this is honestly one of the most epic pieces of electronic music I've ever heard.....it's like euphoria and space tangled up....a good pair of headphones / speakers are needed for this track to hear its full effects. :)
this is just ...i'm speechless , i swear it never gets old....i'm not listening to a song or watching music video...i'm on a journey to another dimension ....amazing !!!!
Just takes you away doesn't it? It really pisses me off that when I (not a particularly huge fan of trance) have a chat with some of those said "trance lovers" and find out that they have never heard of this and other Underworld's masterpieces. Thanks for posting this flanop.
I don't feel the sickness yet, but it's in the post. That's for sure. I'm in the junkie limbo at the moment. Too ill to sleep. Too tired to stay awake, but the sickness is on its way. Sweat, chills, nausea. Pain and craving. A need like nothing else I've ever known will soon take hold of me. It's on its way.
No bullshit my friend's. The original Zach on here. I running my 87' Porsche 964 with a 3.3 Turbo. My friend Josh just hit this track on this youtube. I told him to put this in. But this song and what I am doing right now just hits so right in so many ways..All I got to say is..."Breath that night air in, stay alive out there, life is beautiful in so many ways". -Zach & Josh.
it dont matter where u here`d it, this is just about the best dance/techno tune ever, just listenin now i could be back in liverpool 94 havin a cheeky half after voodoo just waiting for the after party
Brendan, you are not alone. This is the ultimate expression of simplicity as its most effective cultural expression. Good quality techno recapitulates the counterpoint of Bach and Handel of the Baroque era. The Man With No Name is a perfect example. What we have here is the emotive expression of a generation, and it is distinct from quick-fix retail indulgence.
Drugs might enhance it or let people who would otherwise scoff at it enjoy it, but yes, no drugs necessary. I do hate the electronic music/drugs stigma. I enjoy this music stone sober or stoned outta my gourd
Good morning my love!! I used to listen to this song all the time in the a b and c halls.....Blown out of my mind on drugs): It reminds me of you a little....enjoy it! (:
This brings me back to when i was 15 and in my basement jammin some tunes in a small town where country music ruled. Absolutely epic.... i love the nostalgia
This song allways makes me think of the movie trainspotting. both the movie and underworld are so good that everytime I hear the songs or see the movie I get chills!!! underworld rocks!! HELL YEAH!!!
this has bean, in my heavy rotation list, ever since i 1st heard it! 1996. never knew, t'was a video ferrit. TOADLY BITCHEN! cheers for postin' this gem...from lost angeles, ca.
Transcendence... One of those transcendent songs that puts everything in perspective.. Reminds me of 1997. Freshman year of college in New York.. Possibilities...
Seen them live while they were playing this tune and it is even better live with the audience grooving! A sight to behold in a giant marquee at Reading festival. Incredible moment!!!
My friend gave me his Music collection a couple of years ago, this track was named "trance song of the decade". I finally found it~ and this is one of the first songs that got me into Trance! Insane.
i wasnt sure where i had heard this song before but for some reason the film trainspotting popped into my mind. thanks to you i remembered the bit where its from that i heard it that i did

Many people are pretty deaf!!

and the l‘airs
and the deci kilometer countdown
and the prospect of fish and chips with mushy peas on the boat :-)
No speed cameras? Many speed cameras last time I was there.
2024 , still listening to this track!
One of my absolute favorite Underworld tracks. The beat, the drive, an emotion, and a nod to the lyrics

One of those rare pieces of music that will forever live and be ahead of its time.
I have hands down listened to this song more times than any other song. It's looped through so many productive and halcyon days, drives to work and play... This song is my brainbeat; Hours and days and years... it is my clockcycle.
Anything so simple, but yet so good. The space voices and string chords are in perfect mix.
Underworld still present in this little town in my good old Mexico, saludos, ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡arriba Underworld!!!!!!!
¡Y arriba México! ♥
Arriba mejico papaaa
Never gets old. Still incredible, and many EDM acts could learn something from this kind of pacing.
One of the smoothest tracks ever, quality build up, unforgettable synth. House music as it should be. Sublime.
c'est "le morceau" qui m'a fait aimé la trance il y a de cela plus de 10 ans et je l'aime toujours autant !! masterpiece of underworld
20 years old and still as epic as the day the track was cut
No but tastes and trends obviously change. I'll often hear a song from say the 80s or 90s that was a favourite at the time and think, "WTF was I thinking?"

wtf 20 years!
Now 27 years ago from today and still sounding fresh as ever!!
Flawless, Incredible composition, Hypnotic tune!
When this track is done i feel completly reloaded.
Of all of my favorite Underworld tracks, this is by far my most favorite. I still remember hearing this live when Underworld came to Chicago back in the late 90s.
They don't make them like this anymore! One of the best dance tracks ever.
back in the days, we would dance to stuff like this, all night long, often smiling, floating away. coming home in the morning, to later, reminisce about the party and the tracks played, telling our mates about the great time we had. yeah.
There's nothing quite like underworld. They've got that unique sound and style with the singer's distinctive voice.
Call this genre what you want, this is one of the biggest dance anthems ever. Underworld may make rubbish now but this song is a shining example of what they're capable of. within and outside of this movie:) keep it up lads, in whatever form!

Incredibly simple track consisting of just two chords but the sound design really sets it off.
The best track ever!! made by artist ; Underworld !!!! It's totally FANTASTIC this rythm!!
I wish Underworld made much more, of these great tracks!!!
love this track...its just hypnotic and helps you forget everything else around you for a moment....brings back such good memories and is a great co-pilot on long journeys....thanks for posting this track

the Trainspotting soundtrack is legendary, and this just further proves it
This was an awesome track after coming home from a rave/afterhours, laying down in bed but you can't sleep cause you're high as a kite still. This would help me wind down and relax.

I was thrilled when I found out it was a real track, not something made for the film. Top notch film, top notch soundtrack. Job's a good 'un!

THE BEST TRUCK OF UNDERWORLD IN MY OPINION
I deeply miss 90's
... While observing menacing shadows forming in the not-so-clear landscape as they move to that beat.
Continuously.
Beautifully.
TH-cam! Pls never delete! ✊
Mesmerising and timeless. ♥
You don't need to do drugs to listen to this. It's a drug in itself.
So true! 🚀🚀🚀
You are absolutely right!
Very true fella. But my apologies I was on acid when I first heard this at Glastonbury live. Second toughest in the infants
Drugs might enhance it or let people who would otherwise scoff at it enjoy it, but yes, no drugs necessary. I do hate the electronic music/drugs stigma. I enjoy this music stone sober or stoned outta my gourd
Oh I beg to differ a scooby snack brother 😂😀😍👍
These guys are the best, saw them at the Riviera in Chicago in 03. They are the best live act ever... Awesome song...
