  • What's going on in Israel? Understanding the recent conflict between Israel and Palestine has become increasingly important. Where did it start? What's happening now? Hey, it’s Dan Zimmerman, welcome back to Illustrate to Educate. In this video we’ll take a look at the root of the conflict all the way up to the current events happening now.
    The conflict between Israel and Palestine is a long-standing and complex dispute over territory, national identity, and security. At its core, it revolves around the historical and competing claims of Israelis and Palestinians to the same land, particularly in the area known as Israel and the Palestinian territories (West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem). Additionally, the militant group Hamas is a significant player in this conflict.

      @@SisyphusOfAlice Sure. There is no such thing as a Palestinian as any kind of ethnic group. They are Arab. It's a political term invented to validate anti Semitism.
      The Roman empire created Palestine. It's a Roman word. The Romans invented and demarcated Palestine. The Jews were the original Palestinians. Everybody is clearly familiar with a Jew named Jesus who gave the Romans all kinds of grief. Palestine was a province of the Roman empire, and the Jews were slaughtered to obtain it.
      Today, Palestine sits underneath parts of Egypt, All of Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Gaza and the West Bank. That's Palestine.
      The Ottoman Turks invaded, and Palestine became a province of the Ottoman empire. Jews and Arabs were citizens of the Ottoman empire and if they lived in this province, they were called Palestinians. Britian and France defeated the Ottoman Turks in WW1 and ruled over this area, creating all of the nation states listed above with the exception of Israel which was created by the UN. This conflict has always been between Jews and Arab Muslims. The term Palestinian has been used to create a false narrative more favorable to people who hate Jews.

    It’s a very good video for beginners, well-done for being able to squeeze in crucial information under 5 min. I think it was important to mention that Hamas is a terrorist organisation designated as such by several countries including the US, UK and Canada. I know this would make the video much longer but the massacre on oct. 7 included horrendous torture and suffering (rape, beheading, burning people alive, torturing parents in front of children) and the abduction of 240 civilian hostages. On the other side, gazan civilians are used as human shields by Hamas which is responsible for the majority of the casualties in the area. The noise in the western world stems from the idea that Palestinians are oppressed by the Israeli gouvernement which is a completely distorted picture painted by the uneducated “justice worriers”.

    • @MaTeTris
      @MaTeTris 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There we go again. Even if it were true that all the Palestinian deaths were due to the human shield story, which is not the case, it is still Israel responsibility not to bomb civilians in hostage situations. The "noise" in the Western world stems from the fact that Palestinians are indeed oppressed, robbed and murdered on a daily basis and that has been happening for 75 years, when Hamas didnt exist. By the way, Hamas was funded by Israel to undermine the Palestinian Authority, which, by the way, signed the Oslo Accords, which Israel refused to accept. If you believe that the IDF (who is murdering thousands of civilians, among which there are more then 1000 children) is a shiny group of "justice warriors", then you must understand that for many people, Hamas is the most similar thing to an army. Stop the apartheid in the West Bank, give back the land to the 1967 times, stop controlling Gaza and funding extremists and there will be peace. And stop the hasbara.

      "Uneducated Justice worriers" Do you mean Justice Warriors by any chance? Shame you are not educated!! I suggest anyone who wants to know the truth about apartheid looks quite simply at all the laws of Israel state and considers if they apply totally equal rights to everyone living in that region. I think you will find that it is enshrined in law about Jewish supremacy (to the point where many genuine Jewish believers turn their back on Israel for distorting the integrity of Judaism, and turning God into a political prop).; which is in fact apartheid. Right to Return Law; Nation State Law to name but two. There are roads where Palestinians are not permitted to travel, children without trial in prisons; shot dead in their own homes or cars. I really wish you would educate yourself. Israel has to kill journalists to keep the truth out of the world's eye; but it will get out. Proud to be a Justice Warrior. Peace only comes with true justice.

      In short, both and neither at the same time. That is why the conflict is so complex. Both sides have legitimate struggles and claims to that land and both sides are also guilty of committing horrible atrocities on each other. To look at this issue as "who is in the right" is counter productive because the conflict will not end with the destruction of either state. It can only end when the two agree to peaceful coexistence.
      The destruction of Palestine will lead to millions of displaced Palestinian Muslims with minimal places to go. As well, it will incite further violent attacks on Israel from surrounding countries, only continuing the violence and killing of Israeli civilians. Whereas the destruction of Israel will result in millions of Jews being displaced around the world and no country with the obligation to protect them from systemic antisemitism. Additionally, international countries outside of the Middle East would need to accept an overwhelming amount of immigrants from Israel since most Middle Eastern countries already have discriminatory laws against Jews. Housing markets would skyrocket and economic systems would crash with this unprecedented intake of immigrants.

However, when it comes to the recent 2023 war, your listing of Palestinian actions is void of any killing, nor do you have the word Hamas anywhere. You then list Ben Ghavir laws, as nearly justifiable reasons for the Palentinian attack. Then on the side of Israel, you write killed this and killed that and bombed a 14 story building........Hmmm. So yes, all of the other pages look excellent, but that one could be changed a bit to mention Oct. 7 and what did take place with your ink pen, for a more honest version.

Now , one day there's a huge disturbance at their house that doesn't involve you and they all get taken away from that house.And after a few weeks when you realize that the rabbits are gone , and not coming back , you move in and take over their house and make it your own.Then , after about 12 years later some frogs come wakling in to what is now your house talking about they are the original neighbors of the house and that you have to get out of their house that they moved out of 12 years ago and yall immediately get into it and start arguing and it's getting heated because you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you went to war for forty years with the original owners , and they were rabbits !!! You still got the scars , photos , and files to proove it !!! So immediately a fight breaks out because you know that these aren't your old enemies at all , and they're trying to take the house dead seriously like they're the real original owners you went to war with.Then , what make matters worse is that the world authorities show up and you show them the records, the photos , and even your scars but they keep telling you that you better give these frogs their old house back or be punished to death. So you reluctantly leave and now they're over there partying , celebrating and giving you and your family dirty looks !!! Before it's all said and done , these frogs who are claiming to be the rabbits , (your worst enemies), will have your heart and head so messed up that PTSD will drive you to strap a water ballon to yourself , run in to their so called house and get water on everybody !!! I understand you are trying to make a video without pointing fingers. However, it is important to emphasise some facts. It was previously 100% Palestine with Jews, Muslims, and Christians living together. Under what right did the UK give more than 50% of Palestine to Jewish Zionists? Another thing you forgot to mention is how Israel took over that land. They didn't just walk in and get cozy. They committed well-documented massacres (you can watch it from Israel's own documentaries) and pushed people out displacing them.
    Also prisoner/hostages on both sides? Did you know that for the last couple of decades, Israel is the only country in the world to detain minors and children without giving them a trial at a civilian court? The Israeli hostages, may God return them to their families safe, were taken on October 7th. Thousands of Palestinian hostages have been in Israeli prisons for decades.

      Sure, the mosque itself may not be.
      After the Saudi cities of Mecca and Medina, Al Aqsa is the third most holy site in Islam. To Jews, the site is known as the Temple Mount. They believe it is where King Solomon built the first temple 3,000 years ago. The temple was destroyed by the Babylonians, but it remains the most holy site in Judaism.
