GREAT reminder! I was about to buy a book last night and my daughter mentioned checking the library first and guess what - it was there and we reserved it online!!
I did a use it up challenge throughout 2023. I just have 1 shampoo left and I've been using it as body wash because it dries my hair too much but it's making my skin dry and itchy so I'll just use it to clean the shower, toilet, and sink. I found it most difficult to use up lotions that I didn't like because there's not really any other way to repurpose them. The main thing it taught me was to stick with tried and true products that we like rather than testing new products.
Yes! I feel the same way about face products - last year I tried some new stuff and it isn't working for me - I should have stuck to what I know works. Love that you did that challenge!!
Lotions I use n my legs to shave. Be careful it does not get slick on bottom of shower and tub. I put sone in my hair to condition it overnight or fir a few hours.
I wear the same 5 outfits to work and maybe mix and match an accessory, and no one notices. There is no reason to buy clothes all the time. I might freshen my wardrobe every 2 years
@verityv5284 not really. If you buy a few quality pieces and mix it up with some basics, stay in the same color scheme...mix and match its no problem. Buy 5 of all the basics, mix in match with in the color scheme of about 3 colors and add some accessories with a punch of color if you are a lady or if you are a guy maybe a tie or belt that sets the outfit off. I go with neutrals black, gray, kaki, and add pops of color with earrings, belts, shoes etc
Thank you so much for this video. I just saved myself a bunch of time and money. I'm starting a new job and was getting ready to go out and buy new clothes for it. I went through all my clothes and found clothing that is perfectly good to wear for my new job.
I saw many years ago on some show that we wear 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time, 80% of it 20% of the time. So true. I rarely,& I mean rarely, buy anything no necessary for daily wear. Even those rare splurges are very functional for most of the time. Always deals, but I do believe in quality.
Interesting. I think, unintentionally, I have been in the 'no buy' state for years. I do not impulse buy, ever. And we have no debt. Amazing how that works!
I started 2024 absolutely determined to use up consumables! You totally nailed how I feel about it. I think I can go all year and not buy skincare, hair products, cleaning supplies and definitely makeup! I can’t wait to use this stuff up! I’m also limiting spending in other areas but this was my problem area. It’s so weirdly exciting every time I use something up!
This is an awesome idea. I have 1 million shampoos, conditioners, soaps, body wash and I don’t need to be buying anything in 2025 or 2026. I’m definitely going to try this, thank you.
Ok I live in NZ, I’m going to do this in 2025. I have enough of everything until I’m 100 if I live that long. I’m 68 and retired at 65. I got a puppy in 2022 so I live in active wear. I live by the beach so my day is walks on the beach with my dog. The weather is good where I live so it’s jackets and long tights in winter, t shirts and shorter tights in summer with a couple of outfits for going out. I was a teacher so I now have to make an effort to declutter my teaching clothes, shoes etc. 2025 is it! I’m debt free but can’t leave this house full of clutter for my 2 kids to sort out. Thank you.
My no-buy year ends on August 1, 2024. In fact, I decided to extend it for another year. I agree with absolutely every word in this video. I used to make a lot of impulsive purchases and spend all my money on them. Most of all, I bought books, clothes, hair care products, and more. That's why my main “prohibitions” for this year were books, clothes, hair care products, jewelry, stationery, and lipsticks. Throughout this year, I used only the hair products I already have (and the products I have left now will last me for another 2-3 years), and read the books I bought in previous years. During this year, I donated or threw away or gave away hundreds of books I had read, hundreds of items of clothing, accessories, etc. I also paid off my credit card debt and saved some money. My outlook has completely changed, and I am very happy that I did this challenge. I realized that I feel sorry for spending my money (= my life spent earning it) on junk, and I'm happy when I finally run out of another jar of shampoo or hair mask, or when I manage to find something else to give away or throw away))
Yes in deed…. I am doing a no buy year…. I am buying a bread knife, I am trying to make a sourdough starter.. My first one flopped…. I am learning.and yes the library, a great resource for many things.
Yeah true as well I really enjoyed going with my daughter it has healthy activities for education as well helps social mental health helps to develop social interactions as well great for autism kids is therapeutic.
I agree 100% I would add, take inventory of your stuff. I had 52 bottles of nail polish, dozens of unread books, enough gift wrap to last years. etc. Make your list of what you can buy, use what you have, and enjoy the process.
You’re totally right! We have so many unused things at home… I won’t need any books. I’ve got a lot waiting on the shelves for me to have time and read them… Thanks for another great video! ❤
I am going to do a quarter no buy. Then review my process. Determine what I am willing to buy. I plan to monitor my purchase until the end of the year. Your suggestions are great.
I literally woke up with this on my mind. I woke up thinking about all the things I have wasted money on. Last year and this year. I wrote down everything I bought. I do mean everything. The amount of money spent is astounding. So I said for 2025. I am buying nothing for 1 year
I have gotten used to buying things that are practical, useful, and needed. Focusing on consumables. Moving truly helps declutter, and realize how much I have.
I'm watching this because I'm kind of doing this just in my life in general, but what strikes me is how much sheer privilege I have to be even considering these things. The privilege to decide to declutter because I have too much stuff. The privilege to decide to stop spending! It's incredible how much we take for granted and I'm ashamed that this has become normal
What a good example for your children mama. Especially in our society of 'I want it now-I get it now. I must have 8 bottles of half-used hair products. I will not be buying more until they're gone! I stopped going to the mall & impulse buying when my last teen went to college. I thought it would be painful but it was freeing. Thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them. Good luck on your personal journey.
I've been decreasing how much I shop and scrutinize almost all non-essential purchases...where will this go?, how will it endure our lifestyle/two young boys?, what is it made of/how was it made?, etc. I also try to remind myself to shop my house for things like decorations, craft supplies, books, etc. It is such a satisfying feeling to use what we have, buy less, and have more money for important things/experiences. I love your view to make it a challenge...another great tip to use this year!
I retired early in 2019 at 59 1/2 and took money out of my smallish retirement account until I turned 62 and took SS., I do not have a mortgage or debt, and I live off of SS alone now. I do not buy into consumerism anymore and have no-buy months (since last Nov) whereas I pay fixed expenses and prop/school/local taxes.
I’ve had no buy months. It fueled my creativity. Other than gas and groceries, I’d buy nothing. I used Libby (library app) and spend a day at the library when I needed to feel the pages physically flipping. When my children were young and I was newly divorced, we lived without internet, cable, etc. we rented DVDs from the library, went to the park, and camped. I have a friend that didn’t buy new clothing for a year and then extended it. It all helps and adds up to doing good things.
I’m totally doing no buy year! Things I have they just put so much pressure on me! It’s time to use what I have and make some space and breathe freely. I’m ready to do this!🏃🏽♀️➡️
Unsub'ing from marketing emails was HUGE! In the last three months I started budgeting and putting in a line item for my "fun money" and purposely made it a small amount. I have never done a "no buy" for any amount of time but I'm getting there. Its so easy to get caught up in spending; its fun and you can dissociate from your problems and stressors . Someone said all the crap you have ever bought and didnt really need is still on this earth... and I think about that alot when I think I need or want to buy something. Also with the current cost of living those unnecessary purchases really do make a difference.
I’m going to take it day by day, month by month.. But ideally I want to do this for the next 4 years. It sounds daunting, but I have too many reasons. I am preparing and starting ASAP.
I'm working on a no buy year...I have purchased 2 items already...for a cruise though...so specific and not random...so I congratulate myself...it's kind of hard...but since I'm forced to shop in my closet...I have gotten rid of a few items for Goodwill...so I congratulate myself on baby steps of decluttering...the decluttering is not what I'm actually working on, but its happening through this no buy journey so...I will take the 2 for 1
@mtnshelby7059 I honestly had in my mind the try...but don't mock me...where is the support...anyway...my life my money my honest try...Let me pack for my next CRUISE
We're doing a no-buy quarter... It's going great so far! It's nice to have the extra time and fewer things on my to do list like you mentioned! Which was unexpected!
Ooo, love this idea! I’m a crocheter and have wayyyy too much yarn, but am always tempted to buy more. I’m also trying to declutter my house. I’m really excited about trying your tips/method. Please do more videos like this - you are so motivating! ❤
I'm going to try a no buy year for 2025. I have a ton of make up, hair products, skin care. I'm going to not buy that stuff & use up what I have. You have great tips.
When I first started curbing my spending, I would go to stores (with a specific list) and grab impulses. I wouldn’t buy those objects but I’d walk around with them, analyzing them and waiting until the “sparkle” wore off. That’s when I would notice the poor quality or be able to remember I had one at home to be used up or think “do I really want to maintain this/find a home for this in my life”. 99% of the time I’d end up putting it back and not buying. It’s a lot easier going into stores now for material things and not buying something that only ticks off 70% of my specifications.
No Buy 2025 - that’s my goal. I’ve been contemplating this for several months. Great idea to make a list in advance of “approved” purchases! I’ve decided that I’m going to forego an international vacation in lieu of a domestic trip to save money but still create wonderful memories & experiences.
Thanks for the inspiration. I've been inching in that direction. Basically I'm trying to streamline my material life so that I can minimize purchases going forward. I have bought pretty much all the basic wardrobe items anyone with my lifestyle may want or need. By "basic" I mean neutral turtlenecks, boots, dresses, jean jacket, etc. Then I'm giving away the excess. It's refreshing to feel organized and complete with my wardrobe. This year I've decided I'm not experimenting with hair or skin care anymore. I know what I like, I did the experiments. Therefore I do have a lot of excess skin care items to use up from all these odd brands I won't buy again, and I've been doing that. Last, I've finally gotten back into reading this year. I'm going through books I've had on my bookshelf for a long time. Same principle I've applied to skin care and wardrobe: by actually reading what I've already bought I can decide what to hang onto because it's really good, and what to give away. If it's really good, I can look forward to re-reading it later. (Just like I look forward to wearing my tried and tested wardrobe, and I look forward to using my trusted skin and hair care brands.) Life is short and I'm glad to be improving when it comes to really savoring and getting the most use out of what I already have.
A No Buy Month/Year means you only buy NEEDS and not WANTS. You can buy things that you run out of and need replacing and don't need to overstock 50 lipsticks or 50 blushes etc. I always have a NO buy month all the time. I just buy needs and not wants and once in a while I'll treat myself to a starbucks but its few and far between.
I think a no buy year is also a good opportunity to learn new things too! For instance, I’m a fan of body scrubs but they fall into that category of non-necessities. You can make your own sugar scrubs using things in your kitchen! Not only am I still allowing myself a small self care item but I get the emotional bonus of “I did this myself!”
I love using up all of my items before getting new ones like shampoo and face creams. I feel like my bathroom looks much better now that I don't store extras.
Loved this video and your experience + insights 😊😊. 2025 is going to be my no spend year after years in debt and terrible mental health. I know it’s going to help me heal my relationship with money, myself and others
After your video ends, a Michael's ad begins 😢 craft supplies are always so tempting. But honestly, I could probably do a no-buy craft supply year and have enough supplies to make through!
Omg I needed to watch something like this❤ I'm gonna do it! I already have so much staff around I really don't need to buy more. Fingers crossed I will do it for a whole year 😊
Thank you for bringing up the makeup. You’re spot on, I was doing the same thing without realizing. You buy and buy makeup, hair products, creams etc. And then once you’re aware the older ones are just taking up space you trash or give them away. I’m guilty of this. And it needs to stop. I have spent so much inside Ulta and Sephora, Target etc in items I already have. Is a bad habit that a lot of us don’t know we have.
I'm in the stage of decluttering and cleaning out what what I don't need and help keep things clean. I'm going around my apartment and decluttering things and keep what I need and get rid of things. I'm not a impulsive buyer I have a budget and I stick to it and I do money challenges and I 'm do the 1dollar 💵 challenge, the 5 dollar 💵 challenge and the 100 envelope challenge. And I have other envelopes that I put money in for what I need. So I will always have what I need. And I 'm doing my best to use what I have before I buy other things.
Hi. I really respect you for doing this. I downsized my bathroom belongings and wondered why I have so many products. I refuse to buy anymore perfume or scented body lotion this year and use up what I have...I used to love to buy make-up. Now, I see most of this surplus as wasted money. Thanks for the tips. Also, I will not buy an excess of flowers for the outside.
Wish I could do that but I have to move by Jan 1. So I'll be buying the necessities for a new home like garbage cans etc. Started buying as much as possible from the dollar tree. Will try to use what I have. I now only buy clothes when I need them, either too small, too big or wearing out.
I love this! I just found your channel andI’m going to do this in 2025. I know everybody is different, but I would love to see your sample approved by list to get me started with ideas!
Awesome, you can do it! For me - the things that I approved included: kid's items (clothing, etc.), experiences (dinner, a trip), any food (groceries) or other necessities (gas, public transport), and presents for others. This made a huge impact for me!
I did the same exact thing as you- doing it again now! The only difference is that I bought a new natural bar shampoo and let myself thrift one new outfit per holiday lol Plus a new sudoku book, but only once I finished all the ones I had Another interesting thing I did was challenge myself to use up all my dry goods in the pantry. I was also decluttering so gave away things like old candles and unused journals presenting them as thirfted 😋
Hi, I’m a re seller, so I have to buy certain things, but strangely it has stopped me buying for myself. Being able to go shopping for goods to sell seems to give me the same buzz and makes money and keeps me too busy to scroll or do other shopping! Amazing win win situation. Thankyou for your advice, I’ve just found your channel and subscribed! Happy new year everyone 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤❤🥳🥳🥳
For those who want to read physical books you forgot to mention the public library. You should be able to get books, ebooks, eaudio books, maybe even puzzles or games!
This is my goal for 2025, especially considering what may be coming. I like the idea of some treats. Otherwise, I'd hate my life. Who doesn't understand buying necessities? 🤦🏾♀️
I’m doing a no-buy year for 2025. I have enough shampoo, conditioner, skin care, soap, deodorant, makeup, and more than enough clothes, socks, shoes to last 2025. I want to use things up. I have too much. Thank you for the prompt.
Many food items are non-essential: pop, candy, chips and booze, to name a few. As an occasional treat? Great. Routinely? Not so great. My personal downfall is chocolate chips, but recently I’ve been doing better. 🌺
@ I started today. I am out of my powder foundation and yesterday, Walmart was out of all three that I use. I have other powder and liquid foundations in my vanity cupboard (in a bin) that I’m going to use up first. 😊 Same with lotions. I don’t need any lotions for A LONG time, so gonna use them up and hair care products as well. A fun little challenge that I was going to start Jan. 1st, but decided not to wait. My word of 2025 is mindfulness, so I’m going to be more mindful starting now.
Thank you so much for this video Taryn! I am unsubscribing now from promotional emails. I think that will help me a lot. I'm attempting a no buy year for 2025. This will be my first one!!
I stopped buying hair styling products 2 years ago. I had 20 odd bottles. I’m not even half way through. I think some will expire realistically at the rate I’m going. So glad I treat my resources more responsibly today.
I'm starting this year no buy ... 1st ... when I pick up my weekly newspaper I throw out food ads without looking thru the use what u have ... if going to city for Dr appt ... 1 to 1.5 he drive .. make coffee at home to take or go to local coop that offers 99 cent coffee any size if grown cup .. cheaper than Timmy's...if I'm craving meat pie ie Costco ..I pick up prepaid crst l can't make a good carry if my life depended on and make own filling from what's in the pantry ..let ur imagination loose
I’m moving and getting rid of a lot of stuff so there’s probably new decor and things for my new house I’ll have to buy but after that I want to try some no buy months
I've been sorting my pantry and realised that i have enough non perishable food to last me several months! Im going to make a meal plan based only on what I have until Ive actually used it all up. Also had to throw expired products out which really annoys me. No more waste!
I definitely have some friends who could benefit from using all their existing hair and skin care products! My problem is that I already cut my own hair, don't wear makeup, use one shampoo/conditioner at a time, and have one moisturizer, face wash, and daily sunscreen that I love (which I buy in "bulk" during their annual sale). I'm an artist, so my biggest similar problem is buying art supplies just because they're on sale 😂 I have SUCH a crazy stash right now that I need to work through this year and only replenish when I'm out of something I absolutely need and can't repurpose from something else! We're also planning to not buy any new clothes this year, and if we need a particular item, try to thrift it or borrow from a friend. Seeking out community clothing swaps (or setting up swaps with friends) will be huge for us this year!
Awesome! I think as long as you are clear in what you can and can't buy then you can go for it! I also think doing it as a challenge really helped me push the limit :)
I stopped getting my nails done, I’m saving $60 a month & trying to grow healthy nails again without all the gels, drills & uv light. I also cancelled cable it was a waste since I don’t watch TV, I do stream on my iPad but cancelled 2 streaming apps, Tubi is great it’s free with ads which I don’t care regular TV channels have commercials.
I support people doing no buy years or reducing their spending however they can. Like you said, it's a good way to reduce waste, save money, spend your time doing more meaningful things rather than just shopping, and I also think it's a small way we can protest this capitalist system that wants us to just be good little consumers and buy, buy, buy. I know people will still need to buy essentials to survive but even just cutting out the unnecessary stuff can send a message to those in power that we're not satisfied with how things are going now.
There us a name for this, Pan... something ...I cannot recall r n. I just remember getting on YT for the first time in 2020 and following frugal accounts. It's a great challenge but also hard to not buy anything. I have done no week, no month buying challenges and loved finding things didn't realize I had around my place 😂
@@tarynmaria_ I'm trying to be more aware of my expenses (not exactly a no buy, maybe in 2025 🤞) and realizing that there are so many moments where we are kinda expected to just spend: birthdays, weddings, going out with friends for dinner or for a show. Makes it a bit harder to stick to a consistent no spending mindset. Really liked the video.
I hardly had any money from 2017 till 2022, and couldn’t buy anything apart from a few makeup/skincare items that were pretty cheap from Aldi. so when I started to be able to buy things again, I considered it as jusg being able to buy and enjoy buyings things I needed and wanted. I’m not a big shopper and don’t particularly enjoy shopping and not a big spender but I was enjoying just being able to buy what I wanted to buy. And to be honest it felt good. This year I’m definitely going to try a low buy, as I know there are some items that I do need, but I’ll be strict with what I will allow myself to buy and what things I won’t be buying and I’ll have a quite a low yearly budget for all those things . I need to save up for a new (used) car, so this will be my reward at the end of the year. Plus I’m going up declutter my home and sell unused things on eBay etc to help save up for that car.

Hi mam can I get your email, I will not find your any contact details on your about section!!
Thankyou for your insite
If you’re a reader, don’t forget your local library!! You can borrow instead of buying those latest releases!!
GREAT reminder! I was about to buy a book last night and my daughter mentioned checking the library first and guess what - it was there and we reserved it online!!
I almost never buy a book.
Sometimes they charge for new releases!😂
Or audio books/kindle. We rarely have time to read in two weeks, realistically

I totally agree. At some point the penny drops that all the stuff isn’t a good thing. The less you have the freer you feel 🎉
It's so weird to me that people need to be told that Rent, utilities, food and basic toiletries are excluded from the No Buy Year.

No waste. Love it. Use what you have. Enjoy it. Then you dont feel lack
I literally woke up with this on my mind. I woke up thinking about all the things I have wasted money on. Last year and this year. I wrote down everything I bought. I do mean everything. The amount of money spent is astounding. So I said for 2025. I am buying nothing for 1 year
You are going to love a no buy year! Let me know how it goes, but it's a great feeling and accomplishment!
@ Thank you for this video and your response. I’m so excited
Me too!
I have been considering doing a no buy year for 2025 and your video has inspired me 🎉💰
Amazing!! You are going to love it!!
I have gotten used to buying things that are practical, useful, and needed. Focusing on consumables. Moving truly helps declutter, and realize how much I have.
For sure!
Being grateful goes a long way to prevent taking things for granted I've found.
Thank you so much Cathy ❤️ I so appreciate your comment!
Yes! Thank you so much for sharing!! 😊
this is your first video ive watched. you are articulate, clear, concise, and encouraging. new subscriber now😘
Ahhh thank you so much, I so appreciate that! ❤
There are a lot of audiobooks on TH-cam. They're free, And I listen to them while I get my chores done.
That is awesome!
@@tarynmaria_ Thank you so very much 😎
I’ve had no buy months.
Love that! Thank you for sharing ☺
I've realised just how much I've spent over the last year. I like to be free from possessions. I like to spend nothing.
Totally going to try this for 2025. I've been getting so many packages that I forget what I have purchased so I know I need to do this.
Let me know if you do it - you will love it!
I’m totally doing no buy year! Things I have they just put so much pressure on me! It’s time to use what I have and make some space and breathe freely. I’m ready to do this!🏃🏽♀️➡️
Awesome, you're going to love it!!
So true about things still being on this earth! I try to buy most of my things from thrift stores, as much as I can because of that.
I’m going to take it day by day, month by month.. But ideally I want to do this for the next 4 years. It sounds daunting, but I have too many reasons. I am preparing and starting ASAP.
Amazing! You can do it ☺ And honestly, if you mess up - it's not a big deal - just get right back on the horse!
I'm working on a no buy year...I have purchased 2 items already...for a cruise though...so specific and not random...so I congratulate myself...it's kind of hard...but since I'm forced to shop in my closet...I have gotten rid of a few items for Goodwill...so I congratulate myself on baby steps of decluttering...the decluttering is not what I'm actually working on, but its happening through this no buy journey so...I will take the 2 for 1
Love that and great job on the no buy year! I had fun challenging myself to “shop” my home and find things to use 😊
@@tarynmaria_ I can not wait to use ALL my soap...
A no buy year except for the cruise😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@mtnshelby7059 I honestly had in my mind the try...but don't mock me...where is the support...anyway...my life my money my honest try...Let me pack for my next CRUISE
I think I am going to try but starting Feb 1st. I go to the mall to walk weekly. I buy nothing 😂. I like the idea and challenge. Thanks
Thank you so much! 😊
I have read almost all my books. And I don't have a lot of hair care.
What I need to use up are my art supplies.
Kathy B
Good reminder!
I am going to do a no-buy-four year!
We're doing a no-buy quarter... It's going great so far! It's nice to have the extra time and fewer things on my to do list like you mentioned! Which was unexpected!
Love that! You are going to love it!!!
Ooo, love this idea! I’m a crocheter and have wayyyy too much yarn, but am always tempted to buy more. I’m also trying to declutter my house. I’m really excited about trying your tips/method. Please do more videos like this - you are so motivating! ❤
Thank you so much! ❤
I'm going to try a no buy year for 2025. I have a ton of make up, hair products, skin care. I'm going to not buy that stuff & use up what I have. You have great tips.
Thank you so much, you can do it!
Thank you for sharing! 😊
Great video! I will definitely be more mindful of using what I have before buying more.
Awesome, Fran - thank you so much for commenting!
No Buy 2025 - that’s my goal. I’ve been contemplating this for several months. Great idea to make a list in advance of “approved” purchases! I’ve decided that I’m going to forego an international vacation in lieu of a domestic trip to save money but still create wonderful memories & experiences.
Awesome, wishing you lots of luck - you're going to love it!
I‘m doing this no buy challenge since I was a child. I’m living in eastern Europe
Russia is not Europe
Love this! Thank you so much for sharing ☺
Agree.. there are things that inevitably run out and I have to buy
Love that!
I love using up all of my items before getting new ones like shampoo and face creams. I feel like my bathroom looks much better now that I don't store extras.
Thank you for sharing!!
2025 is my no buy year. Thank you for the tips.
You are so welcome!
Loved this video and your experience + insights 😊😊. 2025 is going to be my no spend year after years in debt and terrible mental health. I know it’s going to help me heal my relationship with money, myself and others
@@Madison-i3h wishing you so much luck! You can do it!!
After your video ends, a Michael's ad begins 😢 craft supplies are always so tempting. But honestly, I could probably do a no-buy craft supply year and have enough supplies to make through!
Try one month and see how it goes! ☺❤
Great idea. I have been doing this the last few months. will continue in 2025. Thanks for the tips 😊
@@junkjournalgirl you are so welcome 🤗
Omg I needed to watch something like this❤ I'm gonna do it! I already have so much staff around I really don't need to buy more. Fingers crossed I will do it for a whole year 😊
Wishing you lots of luck - you're going to love it!!
starting mine for 2025 jan 1st super nervous but excited thank you for this video
Good luck! You got this!
Thank you for sharing!
Awesome, wishing you lots of luck in your decluttering!
About to begin a no buy year. You are so right! Spend less time hunting and gathering. I plan to play music.
Great video.Thanks 😘🥰
Thank you!! ❤
Really enjoy your channel, Taryn!
Thank you so much, Debbie!!
Wishing you luck!!
The only difference is that I bought a new natural bar shampoo and let myself thrift one new outfit per holiday lol
Plus a new sudoku book, but only once I finished all the ones I had
Another interesting thing I did was challenge myself to use up all my dry goods in the pantry. I was also decluttering so gave away things like old candles and unused journals presenting them as thirfted 😋
Wow you're doing awesome!!
Awesome, thank you so much for subscribing and Happy New Year!~
For those who want to read physical books you forgot to mention the public library. You should be able to get books, ebooks, eaudio books, maybe even puzzles or games!
Yes, for sure - thank you!
I LOVE this plan, but I will try 3 monthsl Amazon, I realize now is my downfall- but if I see brown colors I must purchase a few What a great idea ty
Yes try 3 months - you can totally do it!!
No buying sephora keeping my ipsy and that's all I am planning to use until I used as much products.
This is my goal for 2025, especially considering what may be coming.
I like the idea of some treats. Otherwise, I'd hate my life. Who doesn't understand buying necessities? 🤦🏾♀️
Wishing you lots of luck!
I’m doing a no-buy year for 2025. I have enough shampoo, conditioner, skin care, soap, deodorant, makeup, and more than enough clothes, socks, shoes to last 2025. I want to use things up. I have too much.
Thank you for the prompt.
Awesome, you can do it!
This is a great New Years plan!
Awesome!
Great video. I agree you have to shift your focus. I make a seasonal list a then check what I have.
Great idea!
Great video. Thanks very much for posting this!
You are so welcome!!
Many food items are non-essential: pop, candy, chips and booze, to name a few. As an occasional treat? Great. Routinely? Not so great. My personal downfall is chocolate chips, but recently I’ve been doing better. 🌺
Thanks for sharing!!
I think I might try the use it up challenge first. Thanks for the idea.
You are so welcome!
Amazing! Wishing you luck, you're going to love it!!
Title swap was genius ❤
I stopped buying hair styling products 2 years ago. I had 20 odd bottles. I’m not even half way through. I think some will expire realistically at the rate I’m going. So glad I treat my resources more responsibly today.
That is great!
2023 I did not buy any clothing. Now I really question if I really need something new .
Greetings from Australia ☀️
Amazing job!
Use your library for media, books and even tickets and events.

I hope you do the no buy challenge for 2025 , I need some motivation!
I’m thinking about it! 😊
I want to also get into this challenge in 2025
I'm starting this year no buy ... 1st ... when I pick up my weekly newspaper I throw out food ads without looking thru the use what u have ... if going to city for Dr appt ...
Awesome!
I've been sorting my pantry and realised that i have enough non perishable food to last me several months! Im going to make a meal plan based only on what I have until Ive actually used it all up. Also had to throw expired products out which really annoys me. No more waste!
Great idea!
Thank you for sharing, good luck with the no buy!!
Amazing inspiring thank you
Thank you so much!
Im very intrigued by this. If you do it in 2025 would u add or take away any strategies for success? Great video
Awesome! I think as long as you are clear in what you can and can't buy then you can go for it! I also think doing it as a challenge really helped me push the limit :)
Great video. And beautiful channel name
Thank you, Maria!
I would love to try this
I'll do this first to the end of January. My bf is taking me to a vacation but I want to have a little money myself.
Sounds good!
I hope you can do more no buy for 2025 videos!
I am considering it for sure!
Awesome!
This a great idea.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing!
This is great for the economy.
Finally A Postive video❤❤ Thanks 2025
Thank you! ❤
Thank you for sharing!
Project Pan?
@@Aixopluc_bcn Yes, that's it. It is a project to "visibly see/get to the bottom of a product" as a challenge before replacing it.
How do you do birthdays? Do you give gifts?
Yes! When I'm doing the no buy month (or year) I make exceptions for gifts!
Awesome, wishing you luck!!
I'm getting better at this. This makes me want to use up makeup.
You can totally do it!
I want to do a no spend month soon
