    "One night, in the year 1713 I dreamed I had made a pact with the devil for my soul. Everything went as I wished: my new servant anticipated my every desire. Among other things, I gave him my violin to see if he could play. How great was my astonishment on hearing a sonata so wonderful and so beautiful, played with such great art and intelligence, as I had never even conceived in my boldest flights of fantasy. I felt enraptured, transported, enchanted: my breath failed me, and I awoke. I immediately grasped my violin in order to retain, in part at least, the impression of my dream. In vain! The music which I at this time composed is indeed the best that I ever wrote, and I still call it the "Devil's Trill", but the difference between it and that which so moved me is so great that I would have destroyed my instrument and have said farewell to music forever if it had been possible for me to live without the enjoyment it affords me."
    This is a Classical composer, Giuseppe Tartini and his story about his most famous piece "The Devil's Trill Sonata", I must admit, it's very beautiful music, if nobody told you it came from the devil, people would not assign it to him

Interesting how the last thing Jonathan said to me is kinda like thinking about how our dopaminergic system wants novelty and becoming used to habits everyday that are upside down. So that’s why the incorporations of fasts is good because it resets us and allows the night of drinking and playing cards to be more meaningful again.

    Years ago I've noticed that there is another, very subtle but profound connection between music and the devil. Throughout different genres I came across very popular and 'catchy' songs which had lyrics that seem to be in part very relatable to people, but also had verses/lines in them that make you just wonder what they actually mean. It was just impossible to fully 'encrypt' the whole song but it felt somewhat suspicious to me. Then it came to me, that the meaning would fully unlock, even in the smallest details, if you consider the devil himself speaking. This way even the verses that you thought to understand before, changed their meaning within the new context of this perspective.
    So I basically found the lyrics make sense on a surface level (usually not everything though) and then there is a whole other underlying, hidden message there, from the actual devils' pov. And people are happily singing along, without any clue at all.
    But it isn't only music, though. If you look for it, you can find this connection everywhere actually, in popular culture, in the storylines of books, movies, tv shows, whatever. It has been a big and steady influence on society, for a long time, in order to slowly shape the minds and the general way of thinking, thus preparing people to embrace the great deception that is to come.
    But to me the thing with the lyrics stands out in this evil scheme of things, because
    it literally puts words of blasphemy in people's mouths and make them party to it.

    Ive always seen that since modern music finds its roots in the classical era and the classical era was dominated by catholic nations that those symbolisms would just carry over.
    Catholicism has a lot of dark macabre imagery and will depict the devil and demons a lot of the time, but mostly in a negative light. Theres still this sense of godliness that the human spirit will triumph over him.
    Its why when people say stuff like Doom the video game or the exorcist and stuff like that is satanic. How is a game where you shoot demons for being evil or a movie where priests fight a demon possessing a young girl promoting satan?

Where will you invest your energy, aka place your faith? The world is the popular story about reality, in which you are imprisoned. The devil works to maintain the story so that you cannot see reality where God is revealed.

    The night before an important music contest I dreamt I was at a party, there were a lot of music people, very famous people, one of them approached me and she asked "the chief is coming, are you ready?", and I knew in my guts she was talking about the devil. I escaped from a window using the curtains. And the day after I read the contract when they picked me, they would own my image and whatever artistic thing, even not related to music, would come out of my head, for 5 years, and after that another 5 years where they would take 50% of my all my artistic earnings. I said something really weird during the photos moment and they did not call me back that year, but the year after they did, and I told them I was busy with my life. It will always scare me. The idea that someone owns you, created you, gave you money, invested on you, and can destroy your career and your life anytime, that's crazy. I feel music should heal, and to do that it must be authentic, and carry power gracefully. They are totally removing authenticity from the arts, no more healing from the arts is warfare, that's really evil. With time it will make more damages than any real war. I am not a believer, I don't follow any religion, I have been baptised at birth but the only thing I can say about religions is that they are used to manipulate the population. We have to start believing in ourselves, but first we have to become ourselves, like real people, authentic people, people who tell the truth, people who do not avoid elephants in the rooms, and can address issues wisely and openly.

      Yes, satan doesnt have a creative bone in his body, and what he desires more then anything is to be worshipped. So he makes pple famous and then he owns them and all of the songs that arent Christian are all singing to him and giving the devil glory. He also really loves to take good gospel singers and turn them, he does this ALOT..religion is also one of his constructs, he uses it to give the person a form of godliness but it lacks the power to save. Im a Christian, in saying that I dont ascribe to any denomination/religion, but to the knowledge that The Lord Jesus Christ died to save me from my sins, hell and the devil..and He is the original creator who was creating in the beginning with God. He actually created the devil, but God, being the gracious One that He is, gives all His created beings a free will, and the devil (lucifer) decided he wanted to be his own god, and trick/force humans to worship him instead of him worshipping his own Creator..

      Head banging seems to me about releasing the frustration that you feel through your head. Much like moshing is about releasing frustration through physical aggression and touch.
      But interestingly these are spaces where men are allowed to do these things without being judged for it and typically people will stop if someone falls down. It’s probably the last of the spaces for men which is why moshing and head banging are still a big deal.

    I’m not sure the Robert Johnson story is the bedrock of Rock n Roll either
    Maybe the bedrock to your argument of the devils music nonsense
    The origins of the blues are poorly documented, but it is believed that after the American Civil War (1861-65), formerly enslaved African Americans and their descendants created this genre while working on Southern plantations, taking inspiration from hymns, minstrel show music, work songs and field hollers, ragtime,
    So blues is an expression of emotion filled with creative slang terms
    A people’s that overcame slavery and forced to fight in a war for their freedom
    This could easily be an expression of the painful life Robert Johnson experienced
    Yet all you hear is the literal translation because you have no connection to the history or understanding of the music itself

That begs the question upon which civilisations on earth is the sun currently rising (evidenced by cultural sobrierty) and on which is the sun setting (evidenced by cultural hedonism) ? There was a book written on this in the 70s called 'Modern Art and the Death of a Culture'. It offers a perspective on the cultural turmoil of the radical sixties and its impact on today's world, as reflected in the art of the time. It describes the social, historical and philosophical context of modern art and culture from a Christian perspective, including material on Western European art from the Renaissance onward.

It would be disingenuous to dismiss this phenomena if you simply are averse to the name of the source as too many people over the millenia have described this process.

      At one point does the fractal nature break down though, hours/minutes/seconds? Should we be spending 8 of every 60 seconds in carnival/excess? Certainly not. It does seem like the fractal nature breaks down at some point, and we aggregate up the smaller points of time to what is perceptible at a larger scale.
      Also, it seems like carnival’s purpose maybe goes beyond contrast. It seems like it’s a moment where attention/the ability to attend to any hierarchy breaks down, which is why it’s associated with drunkenness, lots of different forms of strange entertainment happening concurrently. Its purpose is to scatter, not just provide contrast. The contrast is necessary to see what is worth gathering back together when carnival ends. When you’re not in carnival, you’re too busy gathering together, to recognize what should be left behind, that’s causing a dissonance to the identity of what’s being gathered.

Especially with guitar driven music. Bands like Behexen and Sargeist make no pretense about what they believe, antihuman, hateful lyrics, but wow the music is good. Nothing desirable in the lyrics or anything to play with. I like the guitar parts, i learn them and write new lyrics.

    I think an important point is missed here. When I listen to rock and Black Sabbath…which was the example JP used here, I get a critique of the world. It’s not a critique of Christ, as much as it is a false church that’s aligned itself with the world. I’m not saying it’s christological in anyway…just that Christianity has aligned itself with the world. Recently, it’s presented a vision that’s compatible with the world. You can have your cake and eat it too. My grandfather/father’s version of Christianity is one that’s marred by an error, that you can in fact serve both God and money. God and the world. Rock and Roll was a rebellion against “the world”, but since the church has become part of the world, it’s also a rebellion against Christ. I mean just look at War Pigs…it’s a rebellion against the world and what the world/passions/power offers. Sabbath, Zeppelin, and Rush all have shades of Tolkien in them, and were heavily influenced by the Christian story. The problem isn’t the rebellion against the world…the problem is that the church put itself in a position to be rebelled against when it aligned itself with the world.

    • @paulfroelich1024
      @paulfroelich1024 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Not sure on all of this, but the fact that War Pigs is a rebellion against the world is obviously 100% correct.

    • @JimdalfTheOrange
      @JimdalfTheOrange 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@paulfroelich1024 I’m not sure I know what you mean, by where do I stand… are you asking with Christ? Certainly. I am Byzantine Catholic.
      Is all music, by its nature, Dionysian? Rush is another example that points out the absurdity of the modern world in songs like Tom Sawyer, Working Man, spirit of the radio. I also love Rush. Prog rock also points to the absurdity of pop’s music nature insofar as it sticks to this tyrannical structure repeated over and over. Whereas prog rock tries to disrupt this structure as much as possible. Is this satanic? I’d argue it’s more akin to classical music.
      I’m not saying Black Sabbath’s music isn’t “satanic” necessarily, it’s just a reaction to the hypocrisy of the world. A world that claimed to embrace Christ, but not keep His tenets. So Christ, and his church, get included in the rebellion. It’s a consequence of the church not being a source of the rebellion against the world.

      @@JimdalfTheOrange I meant "where you stand" in the way Pageau means it, typically. Not you personally. In this context, Ozzie in War Pigs is incorrect, not because of his point that the system is extremely corrupt, but because he has to stand in the right place (metaphorically) to make the critique effectively. I haven't read your entire response yet, so my bad there.
      Edit: Just read your last paragraph, good stuff. Sadly, I have been more often a part of that problem than not.

    • @owlobsidian6965
      @owlobsidian6965 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I would say the problem with your analysis is that most rock bands aren't criticizing a Christianity that it has "aligned itself with the world" they are criticizing Christianity in itself. They make no distinction between authentic and corrupt Christianity. The philosophy of rock and roll is essentially liberal, atheistic (or outright satanic), and hedonistic.

    • @JimdalfTheOrange
      @JimdalfTheOrange 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@owlobsidian6965 I’m making no claim for every rock band (bands like AC/DC might prove your point), but I would simply respond that just because they’re not making the distinction explicitly, doesn’t mean it isn’t true. The reality is they’re probably not conscious of the distinction. If our own people aren’t catechized correctly, how do we expect the world to understand who we are? I think it strengthen’s my argument that perhaps this is a subconscious rebellion. The church aligned with the world is full of obvious hypocrites. They don’t need to know who we are to see a church aligned with the world as no different from the world, and the world should be rebelled against. The problem is, the church aligned with the world, still has the word. The logical line drawn is that Christ leads to these hypocrites, and offers nothing different than the world. Where does one turn when he doesn’t have true freedom offered by Christ? Everywhere is chains, it’s just an argument for which chains are better. Even worse, when Christ appears to offer chains, satanism seems to correct, the serpent brings the knowledge/power/freedom and God offers chains. The church that aligned itself with the world betrayed Christ and is an inverted church, and thus creates an inverted narrative. When the natural instinct to rebel against what oppresses us kicks in therefore, we don’t retreat from the world into the wilderness to find God, where are multiplicity is unified. We retreat from God into the World to find self, where our unity is scattered and multiplied.

    All music is effused with Satan, even Handel's Messiah, because of its nature as music. Satan's domain as a spirit was in song. Lucifer as the mightiest of the angels in God's choir and being the Intellect of God, was also the head composer for the hymns the angels sang. The ordering of the angels in Choirs is not just for aesthetics, they literally would sing. It makes sense that the head of the choirs would also compose the music. and when he rebelled, it would make sense he would take Music itself with him into darkness. Divine music is the attempt to redeem this, but it is a mistake to think "only popular music is effused with the devil" because then you get trapped into faith in your own egoistic sense of taste in the music you like as being "unpopular, obscure, complex, difficult" and thinking that alone makes it holy. I am unsure if all musical inspiration can come just from Satan or not, but I do know that Music was gifted to Lucifer in the beginning as domain.

    Rock music plays with the concept of the devil, good and evil. But most (with the exception of black metal) is about stories, taking deep inspiration from literature and religious texts.
    The sing of the horns 🤘 comes (in this context, as it's also used in Indian tradition) from an Italian superstition of giving someone the evil the eye (the left eye, symbolizing the devil, or left-hand path to chaos instead higher order). Ronnie James Dio (not his real name btw) or Dio for short, introduced this symbol when he joined Black Sabbath, as an alternative to Ozzy Osbourne's peace sign.
    All of the songs written by Dio take heavy inspiration from religion, he was raised Catholic but actually despised how it was taught, corruption of power and positions of so-called truths.

    Lucifer became the Devil by abandoning God. Thus becoming the Devil simultaneously.
    his Story is his Ego began to see itSelf as something Greater/Different than God (aka the Universe)
    it doesnt matter if he though he was better or worse. its the simple fact that he believed he was different or separate from God, that he Fell and became less than he was, he became incomplete as he removed himself from his Whole being.
    he saw himself as Greater than God, failing to realize he is God, as are we All.
    this is the Fallacy of Lucifer and those that Follow the same path meet the Same Fate. Anyone who sees themselves as Different or Separtate from God has Fallen from God's Grace and Wisdom, and is the Devil within themselves.
    Even Lucifer and the Devils teach Wisdom of God's through their False Image.
    Learn through All of God's Being, as All is Truely God. Nothing Exists outside or Separated from God. Therefore the Devil is not Evil, as God cannot be Evil, God is All Good in All his Parts, the Devil is just Lost and Confused just as Lucifer had become.
