I loved that the Mountain Goat as I'm affectionately calling him, didn't sweat. Can you imagine having his job? I hadn't even thought about snacks and water. Poor Skylar carrying that up. 😁
How cool would it be to have a job like that and be able to climb a piton without sweating 😂😂😂 yea i was very thankful Skylar was willing to carry the water and snacks..they were definitely needed! Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for watching. It is really fun if you are up for the challenge. It is probably the toughest hike we have done so far, but it was worth it!
Thanks for taking us along! You know I would have been right there beside both of you! That’s living life with a view! I would be at home over there hiking! Keep the content coming!
Thanks, Andy. We'd love to get back there and do it again now that our video/production skills are a little bit better. To date it's still the most intense hike with the best view that we've ever experienced!
what an amazing experience! I'm extremely impressed that this is what you decided to do in this port. The view is definitely worth the hard work to hike there. And I agree no pictures on videos can represent seeing it with your own eyes :)
@@Explorcation I think exploring is the best thing you can do when visiting new place. I always re-search all ports on my cruise and make a plan of action. I'm amazed at people that know nothing and just ' get off the ship and see how it goes'' it would be purgatory for me not to have a plan :D
wow the view from the top is super amazing! Skylar on the top rock makes me shaking already! but that's a really great spot for a photo! :) great hike guys!
Yes, we would recommend anyone considering the hike to do their research first, it is challenging - but worth it when you make it to the top. Thanks for watching :)
It was quite the hike! The guides told us you first climb the Piton and then drink one!To be honest though, at that point I think any beverage would have tasted good LOL
It was an incredible hike. We are also patiently waiting until we can book travel again. We would recommend checking out St Lucia someday 😊 thanks for watching!
My wife and I did that same exact hike 20 years ago on our honeymoon. Our guide was Ja I. He and his family lived right at the trailhead. I wonder if your guide was his son.
It is such an epic hike! Our guide didn't share much about himself, he was very young, but you never know! That would be awesome if he is related :) thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for sharing your experience, awesome video! I have a question, would you consider this to be dangerous with any abyss on the way up? That's my only concern. Thinking of hiking up for my bday!
Hi Tyffany. So glad you enjoyed the video. There are a couple areas where you have to climb nearly straight up with the assistance of ropes, so there is some risk of falling/injury. For an experienced hiker/rock climber, it would not be dangerous, but we probably would not recommend it for those who have little hiking experience or are out of shape. We hope you have a great birthday and are able to celebrate it at the top of the Petit Piton!!
if its ok to ask, how much of a tip did u give the guide after the hike? (what is an expected tip for this?). Also how did u handle the traffic of the other hikers? Or because people need to get a guide, do they 'schedule' hikes up and down this mountain?
Unfortunately this hike has been a few years ago now and neither of us recall what we gave for a tip (or even what the hike itself cost). We only met a couple other hikers on this trail, as it is quite strenuous and not hiked nearly as often as the more popular Gros Piton. From our research, it's highly recommended that you hire a guide if you are not very familiar with the trails, as the trail can be dangerous, and you could easily get lost.
Our ship arrives in February at 1pm. How far is the trail head from port? Could we do this before sundown? It looks like it is around 6pm for the sunset.
If I remember correctly it was over an hour drive each way to get to the trail head (probably close to 3 hours round trip) which would only give you 2 hours on the trail. Unfortunately we don't think this would be enough time.
Hi Bonnie. The contact information we used is: www.petitpiton.com deightonstaxiservice@outlook.com 758-721-0949 We communicated with Deighton to get everything booked. We hope this helps!
It took us about an hour and a half to hike up to the top, including some breaks for water and video footage. We spent about a half hour on the peak, and the hike back down took a little over an hour. We did try to keep moving at a good pace since we were only visiting on a cruise ship and our time was limited. If we were staying on the island we would have taken our time. From reading other reviews, it seems the hike typically takes between 3 and 5 hours round-trip depending on your pace.

This hike looks like it would be a lot of fun. There's a lot of climbing and the view at the top is awesome. St. Lucia is beautiful!
Thanks so much for watching. It is really fun if you are up for the challenge. It is probably the toughest hike we have done so far, but it was worth it!
thats awesome...great views
Thank you, John. Those were perhaps the best views we've ever experienced on a hike.
Definitely looked like a very difficult hike but what comes with that is a beautiful view! Super cool hike!
The effort is def worth the view at the end. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! We know you would be there right along side us. That hike def represents living life with a view!
Wow! That’s awesome and scary! Will add this in my bucket list for sure!
It was one of our more dangerous hikes, but thankfully all went well. Thanks for watching!
Wow beautiful scenery!
Thanks for watching ☺
We went to St Lucia in a cruise. Nice place ! Amazing video. Thanks
We are so glad you've been there, it is a beautiful island,
Great video - super informative as I’ve hiked the Gros Piton and was interested in the terrain for the smaller one.
Thanks, Andy. We'd love to get back there and do it again now that our video/production skills are a little bit better. To date it's still the most intense hike with the best view that we've ever experienced!
Thank you soo much, this is just what I was looking for.
We are happy to help! Thanks for watching :)
This is awesome. The views, scenery and tips. We went to St Lucia in 2009. Never hiked tho. Nice
Thanks for watching. We hear there are a few places to hike on the island. We hope to go back someday...there is so much more to do in St Lucia!
what an amazing experience! I'm extremely impressed that this is what you decided to do in this port. The view is definitely worth the hard work to hike there. And I agree no pictures on videos can represent seeing it with your own eyes :)
Thanks so much for watching. It was our #1 plan in St Lucia and we are so happy it worked out!

This is amazing, it has been forever since the last time we hiked and this makes us want to go so bad! :)
We were very luck to have traveled just before the lock down. Even though it was only in Feb it seems so long ago already. Thanks for watching!
The hike looks very advanced, but the views are awesome 😊

Just a note the although Gros piton is the larger of the two, it’s a much easier hike to the top, and the views are still awesome….

Going with a gliding suit would be nice.
I don't know any thing about gliding, but have seen some really cool videos. The top of the Petit Piton would be an awesome place to launch from!
Awesome video
You should use colour grading for more professional look your video
Thanks for the tip, we are still learning when it comes to video editing.
