It hurts. It is supposed to hurt. Don’t do this wonderfully crafted character the extreme disservice of being torn to shreds by lesser authors.

The only reason she was able to wound him was because he didn't want to kill her. You can see the moment when he realizes he has no choice and actually starts fighting; it's over very fast. In the book it explains how he held back the whole time

Its really not nice how the show portrayed Nilfgaard. They are a civilized empire not deranged lunatics. Cahir for example is portrayed like a sadistic lunatic (main villain even), but the truth is that he is a 16 yo kid, that fell in love with Ciri and saved her from Cintra when it fell.
There is an upload by the Versus Music but the sound setup is horrible. You have to have volume maxed to even hear it decently and you better turn it down before the next song starts or you'll wreck your speakers and ears.
Episode 1 was actually good and I liked it, then it just gradually went down hill from there and crashed with Brokilon... They had amazing books to adapt and ruined it 😕
I liked the first episode of season 1, everything else was just meh. You can tell they spent most of the budget on the fight scene with Renfri and I cared more about their short relationship than the Yennefer, Geralt in the show. Unfortunate because I like Yennefer in the games.

The sword fight with Renfri and her men was also reshot towards the end of the show to improve and entice newcomers to the show for the first episode. Look at the behind the scenes of the first episode and tell me that didn't take a huge proportion of their budget for the show.
