  • Join me and bike the Chief Ladiga Trail, a 33-mile rail trail located in northeastern Alabama. It continues the Silver Comet Trail past the Alabama state line and ends just northeast of Anniston, Al. The Chief Ladiga Trail is a beautiful, hidden gem and well worth the time to ride.

Great video (really quick) of a wonderful rail trail. I last road it, out and back (from Anniston), summer 2018. Glad you featured this and the Silver Comet.

Camping is permitted only in designated areas, such as campgrounds. It is not permitted to simply camp along the trail. The trail websites should link to the available camping areas.

There is a campground at 7. Mile marker. Just go in and they will come around and get your $.

Leave no trace and it generally isn't an issue to stealth camp.

How did you get back to your car? Did you have to ride your bike back?

We would just double the mileage each day and ride back, yes.

There is a place called elevated grounds coffee and bike shop. They will shuttle you for a dollar per mile. I'm assuming you could split that along three or four people.
