We loved riding these new - to us - sections of the Erie Canal Trail and I really enjoyed the portion around Camillus. If you’ve biked through this part of the trail which sections did you like best?

For the camping cyclists...can camp at any lock but certain ones are designated as tent sites.

Biked from Boston to Keuka Lake, not for from Rochester a few years back. Much of the trip was on the canal way or parallel state designated cycling road routes.
Your video does a good job of illustrating how easy the route is. The day trips off the main route are nearly endless.
Thanks for helping more people learn about this accessible bicycle touring gem.

It may not be clear from the video, but for those who have ridden through Syracuse in the past, the upgrades to the trail/bikeway have been extensive. A completely new paved off road section from Camillus through Solvay and then dedicated bike lanes through the city, including a new on-median bikeway along busy Erie Boulevard plus a new bridge over Route 481.

I see you have no gear. Do you have a support vehicle?

On the Empire State Trail we had our van. On other trails we'll carry our gear on our bikes. If you're interested in trip planning resources check out our website at nobleinventionbiketouring.com.
