@@system3008 every place in the world has its danger zones, especially for women. It's inevitable because people suck. They're talking about Japan as a whole feeling safe. The fact that it still has issues doesn't invalidate the overall sense of it. Statistically speaking Japan is one of the safest countries in the world. Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) ranked it #10.

@@system3008 I, as a man, felt safer in Tokyo, one of the biggest if not THE biggest cities in the world, than in Jonkoping, here in Sweden. And Sweden is also supposed to be a very safe country.

I recently watched a young traveler on TH-cam going to Japan for the first time and saying he loved doing it alone. That there is a difference between being alone and being lonely, that he did find happiness being alone. Being able to sit on the train and not be disturbed, eat quietly at a restaurant and enjoy the views of the country without being distracted by loud people was to him wonderful. I am getting tired of the obnoxious UK and will try and come to Japan when it opens up for some peace and quiet and the chance to be alone and happy in my thoughts. Thanks Sharla

Never give up on the dream! Flights are getting cheaper every year, even from here in the UK which is almost the furthest away from Japan flights are decently priced and you can definitely experience Japan on a budget even if it means staying in a hostel and mostly living out of konbini, while still being able to have 1 or 2 luxuries like a night at a ryokan or onsen or a trip out of the city!

We have a ton of cicadas also in Missouri. I live near a river and I think the love the water. They can be annoying but as long as the don’t touch me I’m okay. Our temperature has dropped overnight from 95* to 69* degrees. The observation deck is neat but I wouldn’t last it would scare me to death. I can’t even hardly watch.
One thing I’ve noticed that I absolutely love is the transportation system in Japan. Where I live there is zero transportation so you better own a car. The island is Amazing.

Wow, what a contrast! Both the city and island village, and the countryside between, show off what I would love to see with my own eyes 🥰 thank you Sharla for these amazing vids!

I like the thumbnail you changed it to. Was considering skipping a video when I saw the original thumbnail but the new thumbnail pulled me in.

All of the food looked so delicious. And the clarity of the water was breathtaking.

That rooftop lookout was making me feel vertigo just seeing you standing on the edge. I don't even like standing near windows in skyscrapers.

I love your yukata, it's so cute! I'd love to try one of the tub boats in Sado someday

Thank you, Sharla. I really enjoyed the contrasts of this trip. The Hotels Gardens were tranquil and refreshing, the view from the Shibuya observation deck was just amazing and Sato island looks like a must-visit. I have put it on my next trip to Japan, must-do list. I always enjoy the very personal, informal feeling your videos give me without sensationalism, Cheers, Muffy from Oz(Australia)
