Regarding 9:43, gold's purchasing power being a preservation of its value goes back more than 2,000 years. This is because in ancient Rome, a gentleman's toga cost around an ounce of gold. Today a tailored suit for a gentleman also costs around an ounce of gold.
Sis, you’re just so smart. The world needs more people like you online, sharing beautiful stuff AND knowledge, so interesting you’re vision of “investment”, love it
I wear my solid 24k gold necklace + 24k gold pendant, total weight 168grams. It’s been an entire year wearing it from waking up, gym, showers, work, gardening, swimming and looks just like new. I only take it off before I go to bed each day.
The problem with I would say 99.9% of all jewelry made in 24K been soft is because they torch the piece for soldering. You can get a ring or chain in 24K that will not bend and stay hard just as the metal is after rolled if it is rather arc welded, the moment pure gold sees the torch it'll get soft losing all the strength given by the rolling process, same applies to pure silver.
exactly, that's why I dont wear any of my detailed pendants or chains that are 18-24k because the the rubbing on your skin alone, shirts or tops you wear depending on material... will dull and take the shine away... depending on how much you wear it. I dont like when a piece looks old and has lost its shape/ more rounded when its supposed to straight edges.
love your videos!!! Just like me with the weird gold obsession that a lot of people don’t understand😹 I gotta have some type of REAL gold on me at ALL times.
that's smart. This is exactly how jewelers build up their cases in their shops.. they goto pawnshops and get all the pendants and chains that were sold to them by original owners who were desperate for money, which allows them to price it at a better price for them to get rid of it as quickly while still making profit
I've noticed those who sell gold especially 10k and 14k always have 22k and 24k around their wrists and necks. When I ask if they sell 24k they say no.
supply and demand. thats because most people cant afford to just wear 24k gold. If it doesnt sell solely because people don't buy it for xyz reason. Why stock it at all? im sure they can order it for you, will cost extra though because you're ordering just that 1 through their dealer.
@@chrisl6969 I just thought they'd make so much money by selling lower karats and that way they could over charge and produce more because most people don't truly understand which is better.
24/23/22/21K can be worn everyday as long as the jewelry is not thin and hollow. The jewelry has to be a substantial piece for it to withstand daily wear. Personally my opinion is 24K should be reserved only for bars/coins/wafer, 22K for all gold jewelry pieces and 18K or even 14K for jewelry with precious gemstones (diamonds, emeralds, rubies etc.), 10K or less for fun seasonal jewelry pieces.
I dont wear any pendants with details everyday & diamonds for many reasons.. one is because the purity of gold it is, very soft.. just having it rubbing against my skin or short will soften the details. Will need to get polished because itlll look very worn & dull, lose some weight in the process. I steam all my jewelry
I was born in America, but my ethnicity is Taiwanese, so I was under the influence pretty much 18k is the best balance in terms of quality and durability… so when I went back to visit family in Taiwan, I happened to step into a gold shop and ask them for 18k Cuban link, everyone laughs at me and says “we only have 24k here” according to the sales person, just have to have enough weight on it it won’t be that soft, and don’t try to set gems or diamonds on it, it does get lose
Fellow Meneniac here.. I have a few different pieces of 24k; the heavy rounded box chain, dagger pendant, rounded box chain, and the platinum classic chain. I’ve been looking at getting a heavy curb or anchor chain, something like that. I’m addicted. Your pieces are awesome! Thanks for the video! Where did you say you got your bracelet?
Very well done video, I can't do 24K due to color/softness but recently orders a 12mm, 25" 18K rose gold with sleek lock and VS diamonds 315gr and matching bracelet at 100+ gr both exact same specs. Also ordered 10mm 18K 26" 260gr yellow with sleek lock and VS Dia and 3D raise logo as a daily wear. I can't wait to receive them, just a few weeks away from two different work shops. I gotta say Kelsey you remind of a young beautiful Jodie Foster, face, hair and even the voice. Enjoy your 24K.
I personally see gold as a store of wealth. If I’m gone wear it I’m not going no less than 22k so it can hold as much value as possible. We all see where the US dollar is headed within next couple years. That’s why China, India, and Russia are stock piling gold. Would b a smart idea to buy gold at a good price and use it as a saving account instead of saving US dollars. NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE though
It’s all an investment if you buy it for the right price. As long as it’s the melt value you’re fine. Buying 10k @$30/g is the same as paying market price for 24k
No one mixes silver with gold. people gold plate with silver core. 23K gold is gold mixed with copper. Yes, I have been wearing my 24K necklace for the past 49 years continually. My bracelet for more than 30 years.
Some people think if you wearing jewerly you are flexing but they dont know it just a accesories it beautiful on part of body if you wear something nice. Wear whatever you want as long make you happy❤😊 but i love your bracelet do you have a video for that one?
Gold buyers in local areas I do not recommend . Their goal is to make profit by buying many gold pieces slightly or greatly under spot price & then sell in bulk at spot . Reputable online buyers you will usually get market rate when selling gold .
Im just about to buy 22k gold rings! I have 10k and 14k 💍💍 I was told that since its more PURE gold, its not for everyday use That its more prone to breaking! I dont even use my current jewelry everyday For 2 reasons 1) Of course, i want to keep it as clean as i can. No scratches/damage(Im a local pickup and delivery truck and trailer driver ) 2) Most important: Not to expose myself to thieves! Might as well be wearing a sign saying "I have thousands of $$$ worth of jewelry " !! Just evey other weekend Special occasions I seen them and i just couldn't help it. 22k gold is something else!!!
I believe it is wearable, provided you still need to take precautions on what you are doing with those. I just don't get it why we need to pay for labor cost on top of the price of these 24k.
It’s because it takes hours to hand make jewelry . For the machine made jewelry it’s less but there is overhead like shipping , customer service , manufacturing cost and more
that's like saying, "idk why I gotta pay the price of this contracting company building this new home?" There's no handouts.. you're buying more than just precious material... In reality you're actually buying a ring, neckalace, bracelet, ect that just happens to be made out of gold and because its made out of gold, there's a premium cost.

@justtalkingshitonthetube9266 any metal will bend if it's small enough. I wear a 22kt gold band and have tried to purposely bend out on my hand. It is still perfectly fine.
what in the world are you talking about?... and no, the rest of the world does not wear 24k... I know jewelers in business and people for the most part are a combination of two things or just one. Cheap, and unknowledgeable. Most people wear 10k which is less than 50% gold. 14k is average... anything higher if youre doing detailed pendants would not be wise because they would wear fast and dull.. lose its lines and detail.
the softer the gold/ higher the karat the easier it is for it to wear off and lose weight. Also for every day users, if you like your jewelry polished finished.. everyday wear will dull/ scratch your gold over time depending on where youre wearing it. Only way to make it new again, give it the good shine is to polish it again and in this process you will lose some gold. I have really nice 14k and 18k chains in white and yellow gold with diamond pendants. Definitely not a everyday wear. The chains themselves I can wear everyday
spent way too much time blabbing about nothing the simple answer is no you shouldn’t wear pure gold every day it’s more exceptional to scratching or denting it’s very soft … she knows nothing …
