At 23:19 while you are resolving an encounter card that requires a strength test, even though thematically this looks like combat, its not a 'combat encounter'. A 'combat encounter' is only when you encounter a monster token, so you cant use the weapon bonus here. Great video though, good work.

Very well done video. It really helped me learn this game. I did get confused about one thing. At 13: 09. When you rolled for your first asset, and the board indicated that you were to roll three dice for influence, it looks like you rolled all four. Was that an accident or did I misunderstand that rule?
You are correct. He should have only rolled 3 dice. But I can't fault it, as my partner and I are just as bad and have caught each other out numerous times rolling the incorrect number of dice.
He is saying "Plano" box. Plano is a brand of fishing tackle boxes commonly available at Academy Sports stores. Those plastic trays are designed to contain fishing lures and other small gear. But they serve very well for holding small game pieces.
You might as well play with 2 investigators as there is no penalty for that. 1 monster surge, 1 gate, etc.. They can share resources and fight together. You can affect two locations at once. Four actions and two encounters per mythos phase.. no brainer really.. 😉😊
My partner and I often play as 4 and we find that's the sweet spot. She did try to up it to 6 but the game can drag on for a bit. When I play solo, I like to either play as 3 or sometimes just 1 because it can be nice and quick-ish. But playing as 1 does have advantages as some bosses have their health set to "Players + 2" so with 4 that's 6 but with 1 it's just 3 so a lot more manageable
the only thing that confuses me is when you are doing mythos phase and you are resolving reckoning affects, it says any monster with that red symbol on it, and the cultist has that symbol on it, so why do you not have to fight the cultist? thank you. =)
The Reckoning symbol only appears on the Cultist token to remind you to check the Ancient One sheet to see if the Cultist has a Reckoning effect. If it doesn't, you do nothing. 🙂. Thanks for watching!

Ah ok. If you go to 11:30, I go over the actions in the rule book. Under the “Acquire Assets” action, it mentions to test the Influence (handshake icon) skill whenever attempting to acquire actions.

Last question, there was a point in the video where it says when you solve the first mystery , at the end of the mythos phase, if there are half as many eldrich tokens as players on the field, solve the mystery. What if you had 4 players? You would need two tokens. Could you place one and wait to get another token to solve it, or are you screwed and needed to play two at the same time?

The card says: you are attacked - in this case we also play like it's a combat encounter as it literally is

Correct, you place one token and then you can wait until you get a second token. Thanks for watching and enjoy your game!

You would discard the card and move the token to the next expedition location as indicated by the top cards picture, on the expedition deck.

It is. The difficulty shifts, depending on the number of investigators.
So what would you suggest for solo, using one or better two investigators?
I like one just for the immersion and then try two if I win with one! :)
