Edit* Just noticed that during my second edit of this video (due to the block) I didnât add the playlist effect ðit was 1 in the morning lol hope youâll forgive me. I was so impressed by this that Pentatonix got a playlist on the channel. This definitely falls in my top 10 reactions since I started this channel. Thank you all so much for watching and have a great week, one love âĪïļ
Daft Punk When you do "Daft Punk" set yourself up for a double. th-cam.com/video/3MteSlpxCpo/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUUZGFmdCBwdW5rIHBlbnRhdG9uaXg%3D You will think that there is post production skipping, so to disprove that you need to catch the "Private Performance" th-cam.com/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUUZGFmdCBwdW5rIHBlbnRhdG9uaXg%3D where they stand at the front of a back-stage room and sing with no mic's and captured on a fan mobile device so the sound is not 100% hence catch the official FIRST.
Iâm sure 800 people will tell you as well, but the megaphone is just a prop for the video. They do this live (amazingly) and Mitch kills the solo! Subdued (with Avi) - Run to You official video. Subdued (with Matt)- Mad World. Both are favs of mine.
I recommend their latest "Banger"...Kiss From A Rose ðđ a Seal cover. It is a live performance and is so good. Please react to this song. You will not be sorry. It's a Vevo Studio live recording. Just when you think they can't get any better...they come out and say "Hold my beer!". No arguing with that.
The audio panning on "little high, little low" is a direct quote from Queen. If you listen to Queen's original you'll hear the same panning on the same phrase. Pentatonix loves Queen, and they love "Bohemian Rhapsody," so they always wanted to cover this song, but they feared that they couldn't do it justice, so they decided to wait until they were sure they were ready. That took them five years, but it was worth the wait - they were definitely ready. In the early days of Pentatonix, after Epic reneged on the recording contract Pentatonix had "won" on _The Sing-Off,_ Pentatonix started posting to TH-cam; it was the only way they COULD publish their music. A lot of those early TH-cam videos show the five of them sitting on a couch, with the trio on the back of the couch and Avi and Kevin on the seat in front of them, just five very young people singing their hearts out, making their dream come true. Note that this is the configuration we see them in at the beginning and end of "Bohemian Rhapsody," which is one reason the couch needs to move - it's taking Pentatonix (and us) on a trip down Memory Lane. The more important reason the couch moves is that it's standing in for the car in _Wayne's World,_ where Wayne and Garth introduced a whole new generation to the genius of Queen by putting a tape of "Bohemian Rhapsody" into the car's tape player. The couch was motorized, and not very well balanced. (Note that when they're sitting on it their feet don't quite reach the ground. The little curtain thing on the bottom was added to hide the motor.) It kept trying to tip over during the filming and actually managed to throw Kevin off at one point. There was a small platform attached to the back so that Kirstin could climb on the couch from behind - Scott, being a foot taller than Kirstin, didn't need it. When Mitch lies down on the couch, singing "Too late, My time has come," they're referring to Freddie Mercury's death (the foreshadowing was, of course, unintentional on Freddie's part; there's no way he could have known about AIDS, thank goodness). The other four are walking next to the couch to serve as his pall bearers. Many people think the megaphone is distorting Mitch's voice to make him sound more like an electric guitar, but it actually has nothing to do with it. The megaphone wasn't turned on, and couldn't have distorted Mitch's voice even if it had been - it was just a megaphone. The electric guitar is all Mitch. Mitch happened to see the megaphone lying around on the set and thought it would make a cool prop, so it's been confusing people ever since. During the "Bismillah" argument, note that Scott, whose range includes both bass and tenor registers, is actually singing along with both the high and low sides of the argument. Scott has said that this rapid switching is the hardest part of the song for him. When the camera pans up to show us the starry night sky during Mitch's second guitar solo, it's meant as a tribute to Queen's lead guitarist, Brian May, who has a doctorate in astrophysics. The four shooting stars honor the four members of Queen. When the camera pans back down to show Pentatonix lying on the couch together it's meant to recall the cover art for Queen's "Sheer Heart Attack" album. And when this official video was first released, Brian May posted a link to it on all his social media accounts with the comment: "Enjoy."
Definitely donât wait till Christmas for their Christmas music, thereâs too much of it and itâs too good to wait. Oh come all ye faithful will blow your mind.
Iâm a Pentaholic & listen to Oh Come All Ye Faithful & I know a good amount of Mitchâs part from Mary Did You Know? thx to my extremely talented sister! ðBoth songs INSANELY GOOD but at this point I expect nothing less from PTX CUZ THEY ALWAYS DELIVER and I listen to both songs all year round cuz they just make you feel good & it kind of gives you energy and a stuff and thatâs coming from someone whoâs been a musician their whole life & now thx to the Grace of God I have my dream job as a professional currently!âšïļâĨïļ
Iâm soooo excited to go on this journey with you. Donât worry about having to block the visualsâĶ.we Pentaholics have seen these about a million times.. LOL. Just waitâĶ..and buckle up! Wait till you start seeing their live stuff. They are even better live. Itâs amazing. They are all master musicians.
Scott (blond), Top center Mitch (counter-tenor), Kirstin , Bottom row Kevin (beatboxer, cello-boxer and yes he sings too), Avi Kaplan (beard/Bass) left the group in 2017 and then replaced by Matt who you saw in Sound of Silence. Thank you for reaction!
Oh have faith. Once the Pentaholics discover you, you will get a LOT of action from them! The gent in the beard is Avi. He's one of the originals. He's the only member who left. He wanted to be close to his mom who was fighting cancer. Touring just took him away from family when he needed to be at home. It was a heartbreaking but amicable split from the group. They even retired a song they all wrote together. It's one of my favorites ("On My Way Home") but it's never performed in concerts without Avi.
You said they had a lot of fans. Yup. They have over 20 million subscibers on TH-cam, almost 350 songs on TH-cam, and over 7 Billion views on TH-cam. If you stay with Pentatonix you will see your TH-cam numbers increase dramatically.
Hi! Pentaholic here! ^^ Don't worry about the video on any possible future reaction from PTX we've seen them hundreds of times and you will get censored if you allow most of the vid to show through. Don't worry about pausing to save your ears either. lol what ever you need to listen to PTX and be able to enjoy it. Guy with beard is Avi. He was an original member until Matt took his place a few years ago. He's the bass voice and Avi has gone on to do his own great things. Thanks for looking into PTX! Hope you love them as much as we do. Fav song by them is Gold - Kiiara cover. They do the song live in a radio studio and its far more subdued than Bohemian Rhapsody but no less stunning.
The beatboxer, Kevin, also plays cello. They include it in their cover of "Say Something". One of my favorites of theirs. Check out "Havana", "Come Along" and "Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy"....so good. So glad you've discovered them.
This video shows the 'original' members - Avi is the one with the beard and is a bass - he does his own music now and when he left, Matt came in for the empty spot ... Matt is the guy you saw in the first video you watched that was on the far left and had the very deep voice - 'this' is the group that has now been together since about 2017. You can find hundreds of 'covers' they have done, but you can also find many, many 'live concerts' on TH-cam. They tour the world, and someone is always putting up their music - They all have amazing voices and are featured in different songs. Those of us who follow Pentatonix (PTX) are call PENTAHOLICS and we 'love' new reactions!! You will do well with new subscribers if you continue with this group. Mitch, the guy with the megaphone ... yes, that is him and he does that LIVE on stage. I'm subscribing and hitting the bell ... loving your reactions so far!! ð
Thank you so much!! Pentaholics, as a rule, treat one another and newbies as family! I know my fellow pentaholics will fill you inâĶ get ready for a great ride! Youâll know youâre âworthyâ ð if you get a specific request! ðĪðž In the meantime, just keep them coming!! #ptxofficial
A few things, the couch represents in the early days of PTX, they did not have money to shoot their videoâs, so they just sat on a couch in someone living room to record. The movng couch represents their journey. Now, when Brian May (now Sir Dr. Brian May) saw this the day after it was released, he liked it so much he shared it on all of his social media, with just one word âEnjoyâ. That is high praise from Sir Dr. May. They worked on this on and off for about 5 years, until they thought they had an arrangement that did justice to the original. Mitch does not use the megaphone in real life, it was just a prop so people had something to look at that would draw their eyes where the group wanted them. When you see the night sky that was to pay homage to Brian May, who is now an astrophysics. The 4 shooting stars pay homage to the original., band members. BTW, Queen has never been able to do this live completely. They way they layered in the video of themselves in the video, they just had to run off-stage, and show the opera part on a screen, then come back on screen and finish the song. PTX did it completely, and they do it live. At the end when they fall on the couch in a "cuddle pile", that is paying homage to the Sheer Heart Attack album cover. Live Version th-cam.com/video/nMFPsouaum0/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1 Bohemian Rhapsody behind the scenes th-cam.com/video/Q8ugJnIG_Lk/w-d-xo.html
It's such a fun video. They spent years perfecting their performance before they actually recorded it and filmed the video. And it got a thumbs up from Queen guitarist Brian May. Great reaction. The "special thanks" people are in their Patreon. If you want something simple but amazing check out their cover of "Gold".
YES !!! Total awesomeness ! They filmed it in a parking lot at night. They sound exactly the same live, and have a Christmas "live" video of HALLELUAH. This is a solo song for Freddy Mercury, so Mitch is the lead. The mega phone is a PROP ! It's MITCH, just as he sings it live ! YES YES YES !!!!! The wind sounds is similar to cymbals. Thank you. The blue faces and flashlights is a tribute to Queen's original video.
I have been a Pentaholic since 2011. They have so many amazing songs. I am happy to watch you go down this rabbit hole. New subscriber!! I would highly suggest kiss from a rose, amazing grace or imagine for your next one.
2011-2017 was Avi. He was a master at making unique sounds and going so low he blew out speakers. He left for a slower paced solo career. 2017 to present is Matt. He is the only change
These guys are just flippin amazing alien unicorns! It took them 5 years to feel ready to do this song and to do it the justice that it deserves. They are all massive Queen fans. Brian May, lead guitarist from Queen, heard this song when it came out and posted a link to his socials with the one word comment 'Enjoy!' I feel like that is giving Queen's Seal of Approval right there! They also inserted a lot of references and easter eggs into this video in tribute to the original video - which by the way, if you haven't seen - you should probably check it out! Queen couldn't perform this song live because of all the layering they did in post! And not only can Pentatonix do this Live, but the Mitch Grassi Guitar has no need for a Megaphone. Mitch just saw it lying around the set and decided to use it to draw attention to who was doing the guitar solo part - the megaphone was not on, Mitch can do this live! The couch is in reference to their beginning videos where they recorded themselves on various of theirs couches to post onto TH-cam after they were dropped by Sony because they didn't think that Acapella would be popular enough to sell records. It is also a tip of the hat to Wayne's World movie scene with the car and head banging to this song which brought in a whole new generation to Queen's music! The part where Mitch is laying on the couch is in reference to Freddie's death and the members walking alongside are his coffin's Pallbearers. A lot of the visuals in here are in tribute to the original video's trippy graphics; like when they all line up and do the 'oh, oh, oh's' one after the other, and also when they line up behind Kirstie standing on the couch only to fan out behind her with their vocal parts. The shot of the sky is in tribute to Dr. Brian May who is Queen's lead guitarist and also an astrophysicist! Each shooting star represents a member of Queen. When they all collapse onto the couch with the shot from above is a homage to the cover art of Queen's record 'Sheer Heart Attack' Also I am pretty sure, Mitch is a reincarnation of Freddie Mercury - one...he can grow the Freddie Stash and looks so much like Freddie that it is amazing the resemblance - two...he can sing just as high if not higher than Freddie could - and three...Freddie died 8 months before Mitch was born!
Alien unicorns... to be specific... they each have several registers they can sing to cover other parts while someone else does lead solo parts... also, Mitch (has lost and gained weight throughout their history) and Kirstie change hair and clothing styles and makeup drastically, so much so sometimes you may think they are other people in the group... nope they changed their hair or makeup/mustache etcetera... the only change in the group is Avi (very deep bass) with long hair and beard (some say he looks like Jesus) Left in 2017 and Matt joined the group not long afterwards he is the youngest member and newest bass (the sound of silence) guy on the left with the buttery smooth voice... Also... Kevin the beatboxer is married and has a daughter, Kirstie is engaged and has a daughter, Matt is married and is expecting a daughter, and Scott is recently married. Mitch has been seeing a gentleman he met on tour overseas (Italy or France I can't remember) They have won 3 grammy's and been nominated 4 or 5 (I can't remember) times. I feel like they should have won a grammy for Amazing Grace and a couple others, but alas they did not. They have a star on the walk of fame they received last year.
They have so many wonderful covers and original songs. My personal favorite is " Say something". Kirstie really shines in that one and you see a new level to Kevin(beat boxer). Enjoy!
I just realized that some of my earlier comments reference things that happened in the early days of Pentatonix, which you likely don't know about. So here is how Pentatonix began: Kirstin, Mitch, and Scott all grew up in Arlington, Texas. All of them were involved with community musical theater as children, and Mitch met both Scott and Kirstin there (separately) when he was still a pre-teen, and became friends with each of them. However, Scott and Kirstin didn't meet each other until they were fourteen and in the same high school class. All three were choir geeks (duh), and they quickly became best friends in high school. And if you're wondering what was in the water in Arlington in the early 1990s that three such remarkably talented people should all be born in such proximity, you aren't the only one. There was some kind of singing contest to meet the stars of _"Glee,"_ and the three of them wanted to enter, so they formed a trio which they named "The Trio." (I know; not very imaginative. They're somewhat better with that now.) They lost the contest, but they kept The Trio together anyway; they performed at school functions and occasionally on local television. Pentaholics still refer to these three as "the trio," and the trio is the heart of Pentatonix. Kirstin and Scott were a year ahead of Mitch; they graduated in 2010, when Mitch was still in eleventh grade, and both went away for their freshman year of college. Kirstin went to the University of Oklahoma (with a full ride scholarship!), and Scott went to the University of Southern Califonia. Scott is a very outgoing person, so he immediately began looking around for extracurricular activities where he could meet people and make new friends, and he found an award-winning amateur a cappella group named SoCal VoCals, which he joined. While there he met a former member named Ben Bram, who at the time was a coach on NBC's a cappella competition show named _"The Sing-Off."_ A cappella groups would audition for the show, and those that passed appeared throughout the season. There was a panel of three judges, all professional musicians, who would critique each performance. Along the way some groups would be eliminated, narrowing the field, and at the end of the season viewers would be invited to vote on a winner. The winning group would receive $200,000 and a recording contract with Epic, a minor subsidiary of Sony, the show's sponsor. Scott was intrigued. He thought The Trio could be competitive, and if they could get a recording contract they could have a career doing what they most loved, with the people they most loved. So he talked to Kirstin, who thought his idea had promise, and at the end of their first year of college the two of them headed back to Arlington to be there for Mitch's graduation and to talk with Mitch about Scott's idea. Meanwhile, back in Arlington Mitch had been having a very difficult year. His best friends weren't there, and as an out-of-the-closet young gay man with an unusually high voice he was being seriously bullied. And unfortunately, since the bullying was ostensibly for his voice he was quickly developing the notion that there was something wrong with his voice and that no one would want to hear him sing. So when Scott presented his idea Mitch was on board; it was a way to get away from the bullies. He had doubts about his ability to carry his weight in the group, because of the bullying, but he was willing to try, and if Scott and Kirstin said they could win, well, maybe they could. So with everyone agreed, Scott called Ben Bram to find out how to arrange for an audition, and this is where they met their first setback. _"The Sing-Off"_ had a size requirement; the minimum size allowed was five. The Trio needed two new members and a new name. They were stumped. Ben suggested that they'd profit from adding a rhythm section: a bass and a beatboxer, and he knew the perfect person to recommend for the bass, a guy named Avi Kaplan. They talked to Avi, and he was very interested, so that took care of the bass, but where to find the beatboxer? Ben didn't have any suggestions. So in desperation they typed "beatboxer" into a TH-cam search box and the first hit they got was a black guy playing a classical piece on the cello and beatboxing at the same time. And all of them said, "Wow! He's the one! How can we get in touch with him?" They were in luck. At the time TH-cam had something called TH-cam messages, which would allow private messages between members (now discontinued), so they sent Kevin a private message: "Hey! We really love your stuff, and we wonder if you'd be interested in flying across the country to join four strangers to audition for an a cappella competition show on television?" And Kevin messaged them back: "Normally I'd be there in a heart beat; I love a cappella and have been in a cappella groups before. But right now I'm studying for my final exams for my pre-med major from Yale." Oh. That sounded pretty definite; better keep looking. So they kept looking, and they found someone, but he was no Kevin Olusola. Oh well; you work with what you have. And two weeks later Kevin messaged them again: "Good news! I just graduated. If the gig's still open I can fly out." He arrived the day before their audition. Mitch had to skip his graduation ceremony to attend the audition. But even with just a day of rehearsal they still passed the audition; they were in. Oh, yes, the name. Pentatonix is named for the pentatonic scale, which has five (penta) tones just as Pentatonix has five (Penta) singers. In other words, it's a fancier way of saying they're now "The Quintet." ð Pentatonix appeared throughout season three of _"The Sing-Off,"_ and eventually won. All those performances are available on TH-cam and are well worth watching, preferably in order so you can see how they grew throughout the season. Some of them are as good as anything they've done since (which is saying a lot) and are only available in those old videos. (Note: If you decide to react to these, be sure and watch the versions that contain the show's introduction of Pentatonix just before the performance, and the judges' critiques of the performance, and any comments Pentatonix made backstage.) So, they'd won _"The Sing-Off,"_ complete with recording contract. Time to move to California permanently and begin recording. And a week later Epic reneged on the contract, saying that they didn't know how to market a cappella. But at this point Pentatonix weren't willing to give up; they WANTED that career they'd been working toward. So they pooled their winnings and lived frugally. The four men shared two apartments, to cut down on expenses. They arranged music and rehearsed every day, and when they had a song ready they used their iPhones to record themselves anywhere they could find good acoustics, and sometimes in places with acoustics that were just okay. And they posted to TH-cam. Their fans from _"The Sing-Off"_ quickly found them there, and subscribed, and they began to get more views and more subscribers, and to pick up a few patrons. In fact, they were going viral. And Sony noticed, and approached them with an offer: Perhaps Pentatonix would like a recording contract with Madison Gate, another minor subsidiary? Hmmm. ðĪ Would they like a recording contract? Might have to think about that, for a second or two. Darn right they'd like a recording contract! And then came "Daft Punk Medley," and Pentatonix won their first Grammy. And again, Sony took notice, and approached Pentatonix: "We've been thinking about it and we believe you might find a better fit with our flagship label, RCA. Are you interested?" They've been with RCA ever since. They go on tours world wide and perform to sold-out venues. They put out at LEAST one album a year, frequently more. One has gone Gold and one has gone Platinum twice. They have three Grammys and recently received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. And they are the only a cappella band to have won so much as ONE Grammy, or to be represented on the Walk of Fame.
WELCOME! Great reaction âĪïļâĪïļ their biggest song is Hallelujah ( even casual fans will seek reactions to this one) and for something more recent definitely the VEVO live version of Kiss from a Rose! Looking forward to more ðĨ°
I think Imagine is a good one. You get to hear Kevin the beatboxer sing and there is a wall of sound. You get to learn a little about each one. It is a little slower than most of their songs. Subscribed this time, never do with the first video just in case they don't go back to PTK.
They scroll some of their Patreon sponsors on their videos. This is Brian May approved, he shared it on his social media when it came out. You have a long journey and a lot of fantastic performances. Something subdued...let's see...you can check out their cover of Imagine, or The Prayer, or Hallelujah, or Mad World, or Dreams, or O Holy Night, or Christmastime is Here/Pure Imagination, or Mary Did You Know, (PTX fans never wait for Christmas, lol), or Somebody that I Used to Know, or Say Something (You'll get a Kirstin lead on that one, since you wanted to hear her), or Havana...I could go all day, lol. They have a huge catalog! Love your reactions!
If you wait for Christmas, you're going to need to do 2 or 3 a day for the entire month. ð Beard dude, Avi, did the wind. Pretty Lady is Kirsten. Megaphone Mitch. Beatbox Kevin. Scott is the blonde and bright PTX together. His range is incredible. The four shooting stars represent the four members of Queen. Brian May shared the link with one word, "enjoy." Catch your breath honey, it won't be the first time, I guarantee it. Us pentaholics are used to blocked, blurry and paused videos, but we are devoted and watch anyway. ð
Just pick any song you would like! Run to You, (an originalâ), My Heart with You, Mary Did You Know, are all really great subdued songs. Great reaction. Keep this group on your regular schedule of reactions, please. ðð
Just wanted to say, I genuinely like you as a reactor. I subscribed on your first Pentatonix reaction. I see so many other reactors take on Pentatonix just to get views and subscribers because PTX has a huge fan base on TH-cam but you can just tell they really don't like the artist. I believe you are genuine. Please keep reacting to Pentatonix, you won't regret it.
Thank you, you are exactly the kind of viewer and subscriber I want on the channel. However, a lot have stated they like the genuine and honest approach to my reactions when its favorable to their bias or fandom lol I could praise a group or artist 20 times but the moment I say I dont like something, they call me names ð it is what it is. But I appreciate your comment, thank you for watching.
The PTX community is used to the blocked videos. We know PTX is really aggressively protective about their copyright. We also stick around for longer videos if the content & reactions are real & raw. It's a joy watching someone become a new PTX fan.
I love seeing new people discover this band of superhuman vocalists lol. Especially with Mitch and his "electric guitar", he has a talent for mimicking sounds. I'm sure many others have pointed it out, but I will chime in, too, that there has only been 1 change to the group line up, when Avi (with the beard) left in 2017, he was replaced by Matt (who was in Sound of Silence) a few months later. Mitch & Kirsten may frequently change their looks but it is always still them. Lol. For something more subdued, perhaps check out: My Heart With You, Can't Help Falling In Love (if you like a little Elvis), or their original Run To You (nevermind, I just saw you already have reacted to this one lol). I think all 3 of those are 5-part harmony, the first is Matt as bass, the other two are with Avi. Yes, he was making those wind sounds, lol: I believe Avi (with the beard) does them at the start and Kevin does it at the end. There is indeed a lot going on in this one, but the original definitely did too, I agree. It took PTX a long time to perfect an arrangement and have the confidence to record it, I can unspderstand why, they are big shoes to fill. Freddie allegedly told his lawyer, not long before he passed, "do what you want with my music, just don't make it boring". We only have the lawyer's wird for it, but it does kinda sound like something he would have said. And well, if he did, then I would say that this version of Bohemian Rhapsody qualifies as "not making it boring" for sure.
In my opinion, their greatest cover EVER is their most recent(2023) of O Holy Night. They have improved so much- even from this cover. They all have solos and itâs just a spectacular arrangement!! Iâve been a fan since 2011 and seen them in concert 10+ times. They are even better live and are the real deal.
Great reaction!! New Subscriber here in Ontario, Canada. Some of their other greats songs are the 90s Dance Medley, Evolution of Music, Evolution of Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Imagine and Mary Did You Know etc etc etc. To answer your question, I don't see a need to wait until X'mas to play their Christmas music.
Live is just as good. I love Pentatonix, and I just subscribed for more. Great reaction. Avi with the beard was their bass and started with the group. He left the group in 2017. Matt joined in 2017, and he is also a very good bass. That's the only change they've had.
Live PBS 4th. Of July. Seasons of love. The girl is Kirstie, she has a beautiful strong voice in this song, and she goes off. From Runs, to whistle notes. And does a lot of the lead. It's really great to watch and hear.
They have a huge catalog, everything from soft subtle songs like Run to you to absolute hits like their daft punk medley. Their 90's hits medley is incredible, their cover of I promise, Kiss by a Rose, The prayer, Amazing Grace, Sound of Silence....it goes on and on. It's a rabbit hole you are going to enjoy.
When Pentatonix or PTX are sitting on the couch the main vocalist singing Freddyâs part sitting in the middle is Mitch! To his right is Scott! The lovely girl is Kirsten! They are the main vocalists of the group then sitting on the bottom to the Right is Avi their bass man & you heard correct he was making wind noises but in The Sound of Silence their bass guy is Matt! & their beatboxer sitting on the left is Kevin!! It took them 5 years to perfect this incredible arrangement! A member from QUEEN saw their performance and absolutely loved it which is pretty frickin awesome! & yes all the PTX fans are known as Pentaholics! Hope this gives you a better idea of who does what part in their A Capella group & they are currently owning the A Capella world as the most popular group and for good reason! Love your videos! âĨïļ @Counter ReactioN
If you want to see live versions of many of their hits, including this one, you should look up The Hollywood Bowl 2022 (Miles Reuben channel). Subdued would definitely be Mad World or Imagine. Daft Punk, Evolution of Michael Jackson and 90âs Dance Medley are other bangers. Welcome to âPerfectatonixâ ð!
Welcome to the PTX rabbit hole ðð I guarantee you won't be disappointed! I truly appreciate your candor in your reactions/reviews. It's very refreshing to see true opinions instead of seeing "head bopping" with an obligatory oohhh or aahhh thrown in! I don't know if I would call these videos "subdued"', but a couple of my absolute *fun* favorites are "The Wizard of Ahhhhs" (collaboration with Todrick Hall) and "Can't Hold Us" (Macklemore/Ryan Lewis cover). Absolutely a blast to watch!! I do have one warning, however.......Once you get started, you'll be hard pressed to tear yourself away!!
I believe the special thanks at the end are to their patrons. There was a time when the only money Pentatonix had coming in was from their patrons, back when TH-cam was the only way they could publish their music, and they still appreciate it. And since you ask, I live in Colorado. Mountain time zone.
If you want more subdued, listen to their cover of âCanât Help Falling In Love With Youâ. The harmonies in that are absolutely incredible, and all five sing throughout, no beatboxing.
If you want to hear something live (I think you should!), maybe try out their performance of this song at the Hollywood Bowl. It is one of my favorite live performances that you can find professionally recorded on TH-cam.
I'm from Southern California, too! But, I live in Montana, now. You're going to get a lot of recommendations for Pentatonic standards, which are all amazing, so I'm going to recommend some things that others might not: Pentatonix - Aha!, Singapore, The Star Vista (Strange video title, I know - it's song title, country, location, but this is the video that you want. There are several different videos of them covering this song, but this is the best one, so you want to find the exact video title), their cover of Kiiara's Gold, Havana, their live Popspring performance from 2016, and Butter x Dynamite. If you want to learn a little more about them and see where they got their start, you can go all the way back the beginning to their appearance on the Sing Off, where they were basically introduced to the world. My favorite performances from that are #10 Let's Get it On, and #12 The Dog Days Are Over.
Thank you so much. They DON'T change members. Only one change since they won the "sing of". Avi the bearded guy left amicably. There is a video of him with the other members where announced this. Matt joined the group. Enjoyed your reaction. Greetings from South Africa
No, do not wait until Christmas to hear some of their holiday music. Pentaholics listen to Christmas music all year. It is a deep rabbit hole. Go ahead and dive in now. May I suggest Cariol of The Bells, Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy (a Grammy winner), and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen to start with. Newest Christmas releases are Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here and O Holy Night. All are masterpieces! PTX owns Christmas music.
Welcome to the world of Pentatonix. You are now a Pentaholic. I saw them a couple of years ago in Manchester, England and have seen Avi solo. Awesome. Love from Yorkshire, England ðīó §ó Ēó Ĩó Ūó §ó ŋ
For a bit more subdued, check out Hallelujah, The Prayer, or When the Party's Over. For something a bit soulful and a look at their semi beginnings, check out their performance of Let's Get It On from The Sing Off.
We say original members to mean the original line up of Scott, Mitch, Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi. 4/5 of the original members are in fact still in the group, since only Avi left. Matt is the only non-original member. He's the bass you saw in the last one.
From Virginia. Donât worry about pausing and blocking. We are use to that and are very familiar with their videos. Itâs the reaction we come for. For subdued, I recommend their new mashup of Pure Imagination/Christmas Time Is Here.
I think youâll find that we are a pretty loyal bunch. They waited a few years before covering this because they wanted to do it justice. Brian May loved it so much that he shared it to his Facebook page with the caption âEnjoyâ. Regarding Avi (with the beard) their bass, he was with them from the Sing Off until 2017. They then brought Matt in as bass from 2017 to the present. That is the only member change. HmmmâĶsubduedâĶ.ill get you a link. I also want to get a link showcasing Kevinâs beatboxing.
I had a tough time choosing but this one does a good job showcasing Kevinâs beatboxing. And really, almost anything the features them in boxes (picture the old Brady Bunch opening. Late 60âs-early 70âs) does a good job showcasing Kevin. th-cam.com/video/u8rT6ij0PSo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WprDNZW43tC37iKv
The bearded guy doing the base is Avi. He had to leave the group for personal reasons and PTX found Mat who is in the newer videos. He has a huge range and is a beautiful addition. If you want to see his vocal range check out "Kissed from a Rose", and O, Holy Night. Although it is way past Christmas O, Holy Night really shows how beautiful he is and what a great addition to PTX.
Thank you for your honest reaction. Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here is so beautiful and can be considered more subdued. Kissed From A Rose and On, Holy Night are absolute bangers. Creep is Off The Chart too but is a lirik video. Watch the Live Performance in The Masked Singer that set the internet buzzing early last year.
Beatboxer is Kevin Olusola, a Yale alum! He also plays the cello and sings beautifully - he's a tenor. Kirstin Maldonado is the alto/soprano, and she is IMO the biggest team player in a group of wonderful team players - she never hogs the spotlight, and a lot of us would be happy to see her sing lead more often (try Rather Be, Shallow, or Amazing Grace for leads/solos from her). The high tenor lead - and also the guitar - is Mitch Grassi. His group members agree that he is the best musician of the group (although he and Kirstin both agree that actually, Kevin can sing the highest, in his lovely falsetto). The tall blond guy is Scott Hoying, the most extraverted member and often their spokesperson (after him in that role comes Kevin) and a nominal baritone - but he has a huge range, often singing tenor (when Mitch sings alto) and also doubling as the bass when the bass has a vocal solo. Finally, bearded Avi Kaplan, a superb operatic basso profundo, who left for a solo career (he sings his own roots rock/country songs), and as you saw on Sounds of Silence, now there is Matt Sallee, a huge Pentatonix fan who came to the group already knowing most of their songs.
Pentatonix a "brief" background. They won The Sing Off in 2011. They made a guest starring appearance on Americaâēs Got Talent as nonâcompetitors a couple of years after that. The founding members are:- Scott Hoying (tall blond guy, natural baritone but has an impressive fiveâtoâsix octave range, can go all the way up to high tenor and down to bass, sings the bass lines when the usual bass singer takes the lead);
Kirstin "Kirstie" (Rhymes with "Thirsty") Maldonado (the only female member, natural mezzo soprano, but can go down to low alto and as high as upper soprano, also can sing in whistle notes that are off the scale); For a time in 2018 between the groupâs tours, had the female lead on Broadway in the production of âKinky Bootsâ. Mitch Grassi (a true contraâtenor, can hit high notes in his chest voice with ease and go WAY higher in his falsetto, also with ease); Avriel "Avi" Kaplan (dark beard and long hair), true basso profundo, trained as an opera singer, also can go up into the tenor range; and Kevin "KO" Olusola (beatboxer extraordinaire, also is a worldâclass cellist who plays cello on some of their songs, has a beautiful high tenor voice and gets occasional lead vocal solos as well, graduated preâmed from Yale and speaks several languages including Mandarin Chinese). Kirstie, Scott & Mitch grew up together in Arlington, Texas, and began performing together as children in local youth musical theater. They ended up in high school together and performed in the choir. While there, they formed an a cappella group called The Trio which had several performance videos go viral on TH-cam, most notably a cover of Lady Gagaâēs "Telephone". The three of them are best friends and consider themselves to be almost siblings. Scott & Kirstie (who were a class year ahead of Mitch) both graduated high school in 2010 and went their separate ways to different colleges, Scott at USC and Kirstie at Oklahoma. While at USC, Scott joined a USCâbased a cappella group called the SoCal VoCals, where he met alumnus Ben Bram, who was now an arranger and vocal coach for the NBC TV show The Sing Off, an a cappella competition show. Ben convinced Scott to get The Trio to audition for the show. The three reunited (Mitch had to skip high school graduation ceremonies to go) in Los Angeles for the audition. They found out that the rules had changed, so they needed at least five members to audition. Ben put them together with Avi (a native of Visalia, California), who he knew from Aviâēs performing days at Mount San Antonio College in California. They found Kevin (from Kentucky) through one of his TH-cam videos that had gone viral featuring him playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time, a talent that Kevin coined as "CelloâBoxing". Kevin arrived in Los Angeles literally the day before the audition! Scott came up with the name "Pentatonix" after the pentatonic scale. They performed a reâarrangement of "The Telephone" for the audition and passed, despite having been together as a fiveâpiece group for less that 24 hours! They won The Sing Off that season (all of the performances are available on TH-cam), in which they received a substantial cash prize AND a record contract with Epic Records. They pooled their prize winnings together and all moved to Los Angeles, and all got apartments right next door to each other in the same building. But just a week later, Epic dropped them because the marketing people didnâēt think an a cappella group could sell records. Instead of giving up, they were determined and began recording their own songs on TH-cam, hiring Ben Bram as their producer and arranger. These usually consisted of the five of them sitting on a couch and performing cover songs live. Several of the videos went viral, and Sony (the parent company of Epic) decided to give them another chance by placing them on one of their smaller labels, Madison Gate. They released two secular EPs and one Christmas EP on Madison Gate, all of which were strong sellers. But when their cover of a medley of songs by Daft Punk not only went superâviral, but also won them their first Grammy, they were promoted all the way up to RCA Records, Sonyâēs top label. They began writing and producing their own songs in addition to their covers, began putting out a Christmas album just about annually (which has become their bestâselling genre), and have had multiâplatinum album sales, soldâout world tours, and have won two additional Grammys. Avi began getting burned out with all of the touring and heavy recording schedule, was suffering from anxiety and personal problems, and learned that his mother had been diagnosed with cancer in 2017. He announced he was departing from the group and taking some time away from the music industry. Matt Sallee (from Baltimore) joined them in September 2017. He did only become official when they renewed their RCA contract in February 2018, but he recorded with them in September as a featured artist and went on their Christmas tour as a featured artist, as well. When he attended the audition for the group, he had already mastered the Bass part for most if not all their past catalogue. He was successful and has proved that he fits in well with the group. If you think there have been other changes to the line up - look again. This is the ONLY change. Kirstie and Mitch are like chameleons and change looks frequently. It is an often debated subject among the Pentaholics as to just how soon we introduce the "Beginners Guide" as we don't want to overdo the introduction. This is a compilation of snips of a whole load of songs which PTX have released. It highlights each member with some of their solos and then a brief history in video. It is quite long - 14+ minutes and is a little dated now (Feb 2020) but is a good watch th-cam.com/video/lDxIfwfCmQE/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUdYmVnaW5uZXJzIGd1aWRlIHRvIHBlbnRhdG9uaXg%3D. After a year away from music, Avi has now returned as a phenomenal solo artist in the Folk/Americana/Roots genre. Ben Bram has been in charge of their production, including arranging and directing from the beginning. He is often referred to as the sixth member. Scott and Kevin are major players in the arrangements, but every member contributes. A good watch is "The Recording of Evergreen" where a camera was invited into the studio for the second week of recording/ Also, all members are songwriters for both Pentatonix and their own solo work. Ed Boyer who mixes everything of theirs (even the HWB Livestream) is the one who pulled Ben Bram into the sing off in the first place. They have Grammy wins for Daft Punk Medley, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Jolene featuring Dolly Parton. They were nominated for a 4th Grammy for their album Evergreen, but didn't win. Another nomination for Holidays Around the World album in the 2024 list! Kirstie became a new mum which caused a pause in touring after their Evergreen Christmas tour 2021. Mid March 2023 Kirstie has announced that she is engaged to Ben Hausdorff, their videographer. No dates YET! They have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame installed in February 2023. They are the only a capella group with a star! They came 3rd in the 2023 Masked Singer performing as "California Rolls" being unmasked in May 23. Things you need to know because if you get these wrong Pentaholics will come after you with pitch forks and torches! Ha Ha!! 1- There is NO Auto-Tune; what you hear is actually what they sing. They really are that good. One exception is the 90's Dance Medley where Cher used autotune as an effect - so they had to. 2- What produces everything that you hear in the video, you see in the official video. If there is an instrument used in the music, you see it on screen. In the 2022 Christmas album, there are some instruments not featured throughout the album. 3- They never release something on video they canât reproduce with the exact same quality live on-stage. 4. It is "Pentatonix" there is no "The".
This was my first intro to Pentatonix, been a Pentaholic ever since. Definitely listen to their Christmas music anything if year, it's amazing. I've seen them do this live and it was just a amazing if not more. Look forward to more from you.
Approved by Dr. Brian May from Queen posted it on his social media with one word: Enjoy. The took 5 years to get it perfect. Kirstin, Be My Eyes and Love Me When I Don't are her own originals. Scott had her featured center for I'm Giving Up On You and Lion's King, Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Pentaholics will stay to the last minute, and 1 PTX reaction every couple of weeks will keep gaining new viewers. Where are we from? Earth. Based in USA their last tour started in Singapore then Tokyo and Asia followed by UK and Europe and then the USA. OFFICIAL Videos will be blocked, most live performances are not. Individual songs to 90 minutes concerts are on TH-cam. Enjoy the rabbit hole.
It is hard to deal with some of their more popular songs that get blocked. Often the answer to that is to put a filter (or text like you did) and pause often for commentary. I hope you check out a lot of their music and check their tour dates if youâre in so cal, because early June they have a few shows before they come up to Reno, where I get to go see them for my 4th time. Itâs indescribable to see them live, itâs surreal. Kiss from a Rose Daft Punk O Holy Night PopSpring 2016
The panning was in the Queen original. They have tons of non Christmas stuff that's worthy of reactions. If you wait on the Christmas stuff, you'll have plenty to react to when the season comes. You're right about Avi making strange buzzing sounds even as he's singing the bass. Wait till you see Daft Punk Medley. Also, Kirstie is pretty damn cute, and a hell of a singer. In future videos watch for her adorable side smile.

Great reaction! A true tribute to Queen. When they pan to the stars the four shooting stars are for the band members and for Brian May who got his degree in astrophysics. And Brian May loved this rendition. Amazing!
Pentatonix Bohemian Rhapsody Insights: So, some things to know about this cover and video: -It took PTX years to get the arrangement to where they felt they could do the original masterpiece justice. -The cover, and especially the video, was meant to be an homage to Queen. Some of the moments paying respect were: The mono-recording of the line "easy come, easy go" followed by the panning of the voices from left to right on the line "little high, little low" (which is how the original was recorded), obviously the flashlights being used to mimic the lighting on the operatic part of the original video, the four shooting stars to represent the four members of Queen, as well as acknowledge the fact that Dr. Brian May is an astrophysicist, and the overhead shot of them lying on the couch is to represent the Sheer Heart Attack album cover. -The megaphone was just a prop. It is not needed to reproduce the electric guitar distortion. -PTX can, and does, perform this live with no backing track...something even Queen and the Great Freddie Mercury could not do. -Freddy once said he didn't care what people did with his music as long as they "...don't make it boring, darling!", so I think he would absolutely approve. Also when Brian Mays heard it... he posted it on his web site with the word "ENJOYâ. -The overall video--with the "living room" and couch--is an homage to Pentatonix's own journey as a group. They lost their record deal right after winning the Sing Off and moving to LA, so they started putting out videos on TH-cam, performing covers. They would sit on the couch in Kevin (beatboxer) and Avi's (bass) living room and just record themselves on Mitch's (counter tenor who took the lead on this song) iPad. Some of their earliest videos went viral and they eventually were able to secure a new deal, record an EP, go on tour, release chart-topping albums and win three Grammy awards...so they moved out of the living room and down this new, unknown road. At the end of the day, though, they're still the same choir-nerds they've always been; just happy to sit together on a couch and sing.
The bass is Avi in this video (from 2011-2017). Matt in "Sound of Silence" has been the bass since 2018, and that is the only personnel change in the band.
The panning at the beginning was a homage to the original.
I think you will love their Daft Punk video. Won their first grammy for that
Daft Punk
When you do "Daft Punk" set yourself up for a double. th-cam.com/video/3MteSlpxCpo/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUUZGFmdCBwdW5rIHBlbnRhdG9uaXg%3D You will think that there is post production skipping, so to disprove that you need to catch the "Private Performance" th-cam.com/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUUZGFmdCBwdW5rIHBlbnRhdG9uaXg%3D where they stand at the front of a back-stage room and sing with no mic's and captured on a fan mobile device so the sound is not 100% hence catch the official FIRST.
@@alan-freeman Absolutely agree!
Iâm sure 800 people will tell you as well, but the megaphone is just a prop for the video. They do this live (amazingly) and Mitch kills the solo! Subdued (with Avi) - Run to You official video. Subdued (with Matt)- Mad World. Both are favs of mine.
For subdued, I would recommend "Say Something." Kirstin fronts that one, so you can hear more of her voice, and Kevin breaks out his cello for it.
You don't need to wait till Xmas, lol. Lots of Pentaholics listen to it outside of Xmas, including myself.
PTXmas all year lol
All year 'round for me, too
I recommend their latest "Banger"...Kiss From A Rose ðđ a Seal cover. It is a live performance and is so good. Please react to this song. You will not be sorry. It's a Vevo Studio live recording. Just when you think they can't get any better...they come out and say "Hold my beer!".
No arguing with that.
This is highly recommended. I love this song. I didn;t like Seals version but this is dope.
The guy with the beard went solo, the then they got another guy that fits in with them perfectly.
You mentioned everything I was going to say. A+ background info!

What I came to say lol
Definitely donât wait till Christmas for their Christmas music, thereâs too much of it and itâs too good to wait. Oh come all ye faithful will blow your mind.
Agree! O Come All Ye Faithful #1!!
Yep, don't wait! I love Mary Did You Know. . .with the bonus of hearing Kevin's voiceð
Check out Imagine, or Hallelujah, or The Prayer, or Amazing Grace, or for a real kick, Daft Punk Medley, for which they won their first Grammy.
They hit this out of the park ! Brian May, Queen's guitarist, told them he liked it. Try their Rhianna Medley, and Kiiara's GOLD. PTX is amazing.
Thank you this reactionâĶlove your comments. Glad you found Pentatonix! You are a beautiful person too ð
Kevin is beat boxing. Avi can sing base and blow wind at the SAME TIME... Amazing
Youâll know youâre âworthyâ ð if you get a specific request! ðĪðž
In the meantime, just keep them coming!! #ptxofficial
Aha!âĶI see what you did there ð

It's such a fun video. They spent years perfecting their performance before they actually recorded it and filmed the video. And it got a thumbs up from Queen guitarist Brian May. Great reaction. The "special thanks" people are in their Patreon. If you want something simple but amazing check out their cover of "Gold".
Please, please do gold!!! âŽïļ
Thanks for reacting to Pantatonix. You should listen to their cover of HALLELUJAH
When they all collapse onto the couch with the shot from above is a homage to the cover art of Queen's record 'Sheer Heart Attack'
Also I am pretty sure, Mitch is a reincarnation of Freddie Mercury - one...he can grow the Freddie Stash and looks so much like Freddie that it is amazing the resemblance - two...he can sing just as high if not higher than Freddie could - and three...Freddie died 8 months before Mitch was born!
Mitch has been seeing a gentleman he met on tour overseas (Italy or France I can't remember)
They have won 3 grammy's and been nominated 4 or 5 (I can't remember) times.
So here is how Pentatonix began:
Kirstin, Mitch, and Scott all grew up in Arlington, Texas.
How can we get in touch with him?"
They were in luck.
In other words, it's a fancier way of saying they're now "The Quintet." ð
Pentatonix appeared throughout season three of _"The Sing-Off,"_ and eventually won. All those performances are available on TH-cam and are well worth watching, preferably in order so you can see how they grew throughout the season. Some of them are as good as anything they've done since (which is saying a lot) and are only available in those old videos. (Note: If you decide to react to these, be sure and watch the versions that contain the show's introduction of Pentatonix just before the performance, and the judges' critiques of the performance, and any comments Pentatonix made backstage.)
So, they'd won _"The Sing-Off,"_ complete with recording contract.
Pentatonix is one of 3 major Acapella groups. You should definitely check out the other 2, Home Free and Voiceplay. Enjoy ð.
If you wait for Christmas, you're going to need to do 2 or 3 a day for the entire month. ð
Beard dude, Avi, did the wind.
Pretty Lady is Kirsten.
Megaphone Mitch.
Beatbox Kevin.
Scott is the blonde and bright PTX together. His range is incredible.
The four shooting stars represent the four members of Queen.
Brian May shared the link with one word, "enjoy."
Catch your breath honey, it won't be the first time, I guarantee it.
Us pentaholics are used to blocked, blurry and paused videos, but we are devoted and watch anyway. ð
Just pick any song you would like! Run to You, (an originalâ), My Heart with You, Mary Did You Know, are all really great subdued songs. Great reaction. Keep this group on your regular schedule of reactions, please. ðð
Havana , sing, 90s dance melody what ever song you choose you wonât be disappointed.
The baby pigeon question... ð Yeah, I used to have like 50 of them. So random!
The PTX community is used to the blocked videos. We know PTX is really aggressively protective about their copyright. We also stick around for longer videos if the content & reactions are real & raw. It's a joy watching someone become a new PTX fan.
PTX isn't. That is the label.
They adopted the panning from Queens original video:)Great reaction!
One of the amazing things of this cover is the megaphone is a prop
Live is just as good. I love Pentatonix, and I just subscribed for more. Great reaction. Avi with the beard was their bass and started with the group. He left the group in 2017. Matt joined in 2017, and he is also a very good bass. That's the only change they've had.
Live PBS 4th. Of July. Seasons of love. The girl is Kirstie, she has a beautiful strong voice in this song, and she goes off. From Runs, to whistle notes. And does a lot of the lead. It's really great to watch and hear.
Dang I will have tonwatch that one... I haven't seen it yet...
â@@anglstampr1Absolutely âĪ
Pentaholics are used to blocked videos lol
Subscribed 1) for more PTX 2) I admire honest reactions
The guy with the beard is Avi Kaplan, left the group several years ago. You should check out his solo stuff
I prefer the honest reaction, no fake hype
Then you are just the kind of person I want here susan ð
No one makes music like PTX. They are the Gold Standard!
To hear something more subdued with a Kirsten lead definitely react to âSay Something.â
More subdued would be their cover of Mad World - itâs mesmerizing. Perfectly performed so the lyrics are heard and understood. Itâs brilliant!
I've gone to a couple of their concerts. This song sounds the same live. It's so fascinating to see and hear them live.
"Mad World" is haunting, no percussion, awesome video.
I appreciate their music most at night, everyone in bed, lights out and a tissue in hand.
Here for the Pentatonix reaction which hats off to you on that. Hitting your subscribe button with hopes that you enjoy Pentatonix
If you want to hear something live (I think you should!), maybe try out their performance of this song at the Hollywood Bowl. It is one of my favorite live performances that you can find professionally recorded on TH-cam.
You have been âMitch Slappedâ!!
Ohhhhh a marvin gaye cover, thats different. Would love to watch it
I look forward to many more Pentatonix reactions. They are so versatile and have a vast music library to choose from. You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic! Can't wait for more! ð
You don't have to wait for Xmas to listen to their Christmas music. We listen all year round.
Listen I'm 58 years old. You cuss all you want. I love it. The feeling just comes out better. ð
I am here for the Pentatonix reactions. I love watching people discover them.
You keep reacting to Pentatonix, your followers will multiply and explode quickly, and keep the honesty.
Great reaction, hello from Australia ðĶðš
Pentatonix a "brief" background.
They won The Sing Off in 2011. They made a guest starring appearance on Americaâēs Got Talent as nonâcompetitors a couple of years after that.
The founding members are:-
Scott Hoying (tall blond guy, natural baritone but has an impressive fiveâtoâsix octave range, can go all the way up to high tenor and down to bass, sings the bass lines when the usual bass singer takes the lead);
Mitch Grassi (a true contraâtenor, can hit high notes in his chest voice with ease and go WAY higher in his falsetto, also with ease);
Avriel "Avi" Kaplan (dark beard and long hair), true basso profundo, trained as an opera singer, also can go up into the tenor range; and
Kevin "KO" Olusola (beatboxer extraordinaire, also is a worldâclass cellist who plays cello on some of their songs, has a beautiful high tenor voice and gets occasional lead vocal solos as well, graduated preâmed from Yale and speaks several languages including Mandarin Chinese).
A good watch is "The Recording of Evergreen" where a camera was invited into the studio for the second week of recording/
Also, all members are songwriters for both Pentatonix and their own solo work.
Brief Background? Dude you should write their biography. I thought I knew them well but even I learned new stuff. Thanks.
This was my first intro to Pentatonix, been a Pentaholic ever since. Definitely listen to their Christmas music anything if year, it's amazing. I've seen them do this live and it was just a amazing if not more. Look forward to more from you.
This was their homage to Queen... It took them 5 years to get it where they were satisfied to record it...!!!
Their version of Halelujah is one of the most viewed and beautiful.
Their popspring 2016 live is incredible!
Sing,
Love again,
Love me when i dont,
Some originals for you ð
Thanks for the heads up, greatly appreciated
Going to recommend hallelujah. Itâs my all time favorite (even though itâs really hard to choose)
Kiss from a Rose
Daft Punk
O Holy Night
PopSpring 2016
The panning was in the Queen original. They have tons of non Christmas stuff that's worthy of reactions. If you wait on the Christmas stuff, you'll have plenty to react to when the season comes. You're right about Avi making strange buzzing sounds even as he's singing the bass. Wait till you see Daft Punk Medley. Also, Kirstie is pretty damn cute, and a hell of a singer. In future videos watch for her adorable side smile.
The Bull horn was just a prop. That was actually Mitchâs voice. Sounds the same in live concert

Great reaction! A true tribute to Queen. When they pan to the stars the four shooting stars are for the band members and for Brian May who got his degree in astrophysics. And Brian May loved this rendition. Amazing!
Lol. Donât worry i need to take a break during their songs. But ill tell you Bryan May loved this cover..
Pentatonix Bohemian Rhapsody Insights:
So, some things to know about this cover and video: -It took PTX years to get the arrangement to where they felt they could do the original masterpiece justice.
I always love when someone discovers them. You'll be hard pressed to find a bad song from them, so please keep reacting to them if you like them!
Listen to My Heart With You. Pure 5 part harmony
The bass is Avi in this video (from 2011-2017). Matt in "Sound of Silence" has been the bass since 2018, and that is the only personnel change in the band.
